This station lost nine firefighters during the 9/11 attacks. You can still view the memorial with their names and photos on the outside wall by the main entrance. RIP to them, we salute your bravery. On occasion if I had a question about how my landlord was handling fire safety I would visit them and ask my questions. They are definitely helpful and there's always someone around to assist me. Today I saw them on Third Avenue and was fascinated with what they were doing as there wasn't a fire involved. The nice Fireman said they were practicing. He said they practice so they will be ready when there is an emergency. I'm a huge fan of the FDNY as this city has many fire hazards. Can you imagine having a job where you put your life on the line every time you go to work. Or when you're called to come in to work unexpectedly. I thanked these Firemen today for their service. I suggest you do the same any chance you get.

I've been all around this country as I'm lucky enough that my career has offered many chances to experience other cities. Many other places have their pro's and are terrific cities in their own right, but none compares to the vibe and feel of New York. The first thing I do when I get back from a trip is to hit my local NYC pizza joint or get some bagels as its a must. Plus, New York is a huge state. So many cool town and cities to explore north and west of NYC by train or car. Plenty to do and experience. Summer and Fall in New York up there is beautiful. Yeah, NYC can be a bit dirty, grimy, a bit brusque and at times aggravating but that's part of the charm. If you can't handle it you don't belong here.

They're making new laws all the time! This morning I was looking for the law that requires landlords to keep the heat on through May 31st. I'm glad when it's turned off. My apartment is small and gets the morning sun so it's hot until sundown. There's flexibility in the law but in a high rise turning the heat on and off when the temperature whiplash comes is just not possible. Believe me I asked! So I'm hanging on looking forward to June 1st. In the meantime my daughter is going to help me get the insulation out of the window so she can also help me get the window open!! Thank you New York Government!

The price is fair, the inspector and office staff are helpful. I've scrolled through the reviews and noticed that almost the negative reviews are mainly people complaining about their sale's approach. It is understandable one could get annoyed being bugged and persuaded into service he doesn't want or even doesn't need. However, If you are a construction trade company who constantly need extinguishers service/repair or purchases, they are actually quite a good option. Very easy to work with and always on time.

Response 09/09/2024 It is unfortunate that this disgruntled employee took the time to attempt to slander our company. We have been the leader in providing ************************* to the *** area for over 40 years. It is upsetting to hear how someone who worked for us for such a short period of time can be so malicious. Most of our employees have been with us for over 10 Years and have had successful careers in both ****************** as well as support technicians. We have recently had a major management change, as well as significant changes to our dispatching and account systems which have proven to be very effective to our customer and employee satisfaction. We continue to strive to provide top notch service to our customers while maintaining a healthy and happy work environment for our employees. This review is not from a disgruntled employee. It is from a former employee who was rendered disabled due to an unsafe chair about which a complaint was expressed and no action was taken to ensure the safety of this employee. As a result, said employee has had to undergo and is still undergoing months of painful physical therapy in order to enable him to walk normally again. It is not a career. There are no benefits...only intimidation and exploitation. It is not a happy and healthy work environment as the company stated. The physical, financial, emotional and mental well-being of the employees is not a consideration. There are no happy and healthy employees on the sales force - most of them have back problems and a couple of them need canes to assist them...most likely from years of long hours sitting in unsafe chairs. They know, and the company knows, that jobs are scarce, so the employees don't complain. They just suffer...especially when they see their paychecks at the end of the week.

Well it's looking to me like we are coming back quickly. Panera is back and Barnes and Noble is going to open. Both are within a half mile from my apartment. There's at least four new pizza joints in a half mile of my home too. We are definitely excited about Kossar's Bagels and Bialy's! We have more ice cream and cookie shops than ever before. Yes there's crime but that's in every neighborhood these days throughout the city. Yes it's expensive to rent an apartment. Just remember that it's worth it to be able to walk everywhere and not have the expense of a car and the expenses that come with a car. I'm not happy about Manhattan air quality and the air quality in my neighborhood. I just do the best I can. It's Five Stars for Museums, Educational Institutions, entertainment, sports programs, parks and playgrounds. Plus the public spaces and libraries. I can go on and on. I'm not recommending. Stay where you are! We have enough people here!
