He asked me to send him inspiration so I created a sample in AI. He absolutely did not like that approach as he felt it inhibited his creative freedom. I tried explaining that it was just a point of reference, much like my Pinterest vision board. When I came to my consultation appointment (after driving 1 hour in the rain) he cancelled it on the spot because of our creative differences. I thought I was the client. A tattoo is a permanent decision. I feel that my input should be respected. Upon my arrival to his shop, Killian began to be confrontational and disrespectful. I mentioned that coming to the appointment (that he had just cancelled) was a bad use of my time, he became defensive and rude and blamed it on me. I found Killian to be unprofessional and difficult to work with. If you want to have creative input over your personal design process, I recommend going to Unbroken in Reston. You deserve respect when paying a vendor for a service and have your vision carried out professionally and collaboratively.

There weren't any customers (the mall was slowly opening up), and only one employee, Alex working. Inquired about prices and timeframe, as well as his process. He confirmed that the whole process can take three to four hours, which includes the consultation, placement any redrawing, and the actual inking Etc. The prices, schedule, skills, etc. vary based on the artist. They all have their own Instagram page which can be used to identify who would be better for the actual work. This is the reference image and then the artist sketched a new tattoo idea based on my preferences (thinner line and about 3x3 in). Very positive experience and probably will be a returning customer. She is super personable to talk to - that my session went by pretty quickly - and so skilled at what she does. I sent over two inspo pictures and she got the design just right with the font, spacing and even delicateness of the letters! I absolutely love it. I normally get skin hives from environmental stressors but my tattoo was only slightly red immediately after and not hiving at all in the recovery. It is healing really well, too. Everything was clean and process was fast and easy. I'm not very experienced with tattoos and tend to be a baby with pain and can't even look at needles but Jacqi is very experienced and made the whole process smooth and easy. Definitely reccomend both Jacqi and Wicked Goddess- her art style is soooooo cool and even though I havent been pierced here they have a huge jewelry selection.
