My experience with Monique's Shoe Store was great when they first opened. Over the past several years however, it has dropped dramatically. I use to be able to find good quality shoes like Joan & David, now most of their shoes are made from inexpensive materials from cheap manufacturers. As a result, the shoes are overly priced and hard to sell, which has brought the store to it's near closing.
Also their return policy could use a little work. They don't give customers a copy of their return policy in writing when you make a purchase. Instead it's written on a small sign posted near the cash register that they expect you to pay attention to when you're checking out.
I've often bought shoes that have easily chipped and torn within 1-3 wears, but because it was outside of the 30 day return policy nothing could be done. Even if you wear them once (something you'd have to do in order to test it's durability) you can't return it...even if it's a manufacturers defect. read more
