Sadly, the quality control on pizzas has slipped. South Shores is never good so we order from MtZ but last two times pizza is nearly black on both a thin and pan crust when their pizzas are already expensive. Very disappointed in Monical's yet again! For the price you pay for this pizza, it should be cooked to perfection! Our large pizza was very soft and doughy, barely browned on the bottom at all. Please stop rushing perfection at our expense! We threw over half of this pizza away. I also asked for it to be in a box, as we were picking it up and then driving a half hour to our destination. The box method keeps it crispier than the bag method. Well, it was in a bag, so the raw dough and moisture all over made it so we couldn't even get the middle pieces off of the cardboard. So disgusting. We also asked for Italian dressing and didn't get any. Total = 3 errors. So tired of all the excuses....no one wants to work, you can't find good help.... all the more reason to just stay home and cook it yourself! I'm tired of supporting places for mediocre service and disgusting food. read more

We had wanted something else for dinner but this was ultimately what we ended up with. The food was pretty good and came out quick. I did like the mozzarella garlic bread. Really cheesy! The pizza was good also. I'm not a crust person so it was a little thick for me but my husband thought it was good. The side salad just had cheese basically, which we love cheese, but could have used some onions, tomatoes, etc. It was nice and quiet inside, but we did eat at 3 so that could be it also. A zero would be more accurate. A 14" "pan" pizza arrived cold; nothing close to "pan"/"deep dish"; was tasteless; and the mozzarella sticks were straight out of the Kroger or Walmart frozen aisle, which I had eaten and thrown away from my freezer the night before. So for $50, including tip, all went into the garbage. And, supervisor refused to adjust. Buy a $8 DiJornos from Walmart and save your money. read more

I grew up with Monicals in the 70s, and it's every bit as good today as it was then. The people I have introduced it to have loved it. The crust is consistently thin, crispy, and delicious. The toppings are top notch, and the seasonings fantastic! This particular location is nice, but it's age is showing a little. The service was solid, and the food was delicious. Went to this restaurant on Dec 28 2021. This place used to be good. great pizza and sides. What the hell happened? As I was waiting to get my to go order I watched the crew baking and cutting the pizza. The cutter was doing a great job, but I guess his shift was over the pizza baker was then tasked to cut and box the pizzas. I have seen babies throw fits but this kid absolutely lost it when he had to cut his first pizza. he slammed that knife down so hard the pizza went flying. No matter he wrapped them up any way. After the manager came out he calmed down. but my pizza went I got home was half burnt by this immature child. I will never go back. read more

I've placed two orders for delivery from this Monical's between the hours of 1pm and 4pm and had no problem. The third time I placed an order (all three were done using the web) they called me back and said they don't deliver between 1pm and 4pm. Not sure why they said this? Delivery guy called off? Change of policy? To lazy to deliver? Concerned that I might be gaining weight from eating to much Monical's? Anyways don't appreciate being lied to. read more

I am 65 years old and I have been eating Monical's most of my life. This is the first time I have made a bad review for a Monical's. I ordered my pizza online and was told to pick up my pizza an hour after I ordered it. The last 2 times I got pizza the pizza was cold and soggy and most definitely not fresh. This time I came 10 minutes early thinking I might get a hot pizza. I was welcomed by a young girl with her nose hanging out of her mask playing with her hair. I asked her if it really took 1 hour to make an 8 inch pizza? She told me that there were many people ahead of me and that's why it took so long. So then she decided to look and guess what there was my pizza sitting there 10 minutes before I was to pick it up and cold and soggy when I got home. Is there no manager at the Mt Zion Monical's? Next pizza I buy will not be from this store. They suck! read more

I have to give this monicals 4 stars because of there great pizza and a very family friendly atmosphere. I ordered 6 pepperollie and a large thin crust pepperoni and half mushroom pizza. The Pepperollie came out hot and amazing. They pizza was so much better then the monicals in south shores. The only downside was that the waiter was trying to wait 5 tables besides us. Props to her but we only saw her 3 times. Drinks, food, and bill. Just wishes for a little more interaction. Otherwise keep doing what your doing monicals. read more

I grew up with Monicals so everytime I get back to Illinois I make sure to stop by at least once. Luckily there is one across the street from the hotel we stay at when we visit. I called for delivery and had to repeat myself numerous times on the order. I finally told the girl that I would be over to place the order in a couple minutes. The pizza hasn't changed It is still delicious but I don't know what happened to this. From the initial call for delivery to me making the carryout order and the pickup the customer service just isn't there at this location. read more

All time favorite pizza hands down 100% sure. Always go with the family pleasure. Pizza and salad, gotta get the pizza with olives pepperoni hot peppers sausage, it's amazing. Their red salad dressing is amazing and they sell it in a squeeze bottle so you can get a bottle for your own stock to keep in your fridge. Will always continue to get our pizza from here! read more
