Walk through a lovely curtain adored with the faces of the famed couple, Frida and Diego. This is made with one of Frida's paintings. The space is decorated like Frida's home which is now a museum, La Casa Azul in Mexico. It has blue walls, with candles, skulls, Mexican tapestry, and aesthetics. Certain areas are devoted to Diego's murals. In life Diego was more famous but in death Frida May have surpassed him in fame. One of the rooms is a recreation of a traditional Mexican kitchen, with the sounds, pot and pans of such a place. You enjoy all these various rooms to finally arrive at the Main Hall, filled with projections of the life's work of Diego and Frida and comfortable seating. It takes about 30 or more minutes to enjoy this artistic show of their work. Afterwards, you enter a room with a recreation of one of Frida's big work of art, you get to color it in with markers, as it is one a white board. Also you can take pictures with a Frida and Diego cut-out. Next, you enter the "Cantina" filled with lovely Mexican paper decorations. If you pay for the VIP experience, you get to enjoy an interactive experience with Frida and Diego. Then you get to enjoy the shop where you can buy books, flower crowns and other items Frida and Diego related. It was a great experience and I'm glad it finally opened.

Rivera is known for works that are huge in scale, such as murals about major issues; Kahlo created highly personal works that were very personal, such as small self-portraits. Only after going through these rooms did we get to the immersive area. It was large & engaging. The music & sound added a lot to the experience.

It's something unique to do so I reserved tickets for this virtual reality experience. A little pricy in my opinion but once you experience it and see it you can appreciate all the technology and effort that went in to creating it. We were able to find nearby street parking at a cost on Saturday, 2 hrs max, but there are garages available as well. Upon entering, you check-in at the desk, provide your tickets, and complete the waiver forms. You each get assigned a name to be recognized within your party while you're wandering the virtual reality course as a team. There are others on the course that you will see but they're on their own route and all you see is a silhouette in the viewfinder. Following check-in, you walk to the back of the building where they fit you with a headset and give you a brief on how to wear it and what to do. It's really simple. Arrows guide you along your route, along with the narrator robot in the viewfinder, while explaining various things along your journey. It's very interesting and educational, although not the real Peruvian experience. They offer souvenirs and other mementos at the end related to the experience. They vary the courses over the months so that one will play for a period of weeks and then another. Highly recommend for something different and educational for the whole family. There can be a lot of walking and standing over the course of nearly an hour which may not be for everyone unless you bring a chair to sit in. I did see a gentleman in a wheelchair being pushed around which I thought was great to be able to experience.

There is a garage underneath the building and no there is no discounts for attending the museum. In my opinion, the space isn't very big and I was a bit disappointed with how it is kept up. Can't say it was the best experience and I doubt we will be returning.

I learned and saw things I had never learned or seen before and he did a great job of explaining things without boring me and the many children in the room to death. Planetariums can make me dizzy and nauseous, also I had to look away periodically, but he moved at a pretty good pace, so I actually could enjoy much of the presentation. It was about light and went into a bit more about planets and the universe later on. I would definitely return.

My husband and I attended for the first time last night and we plan to return for the monthly presentations. The planetarium provides a small and intimate environment for families to learn about different scientific topics and study our local night sky. The planetarium is part of the Arlington Public School system and as such, hosts school aged educational programming in partnership with local schools. However, most of the cost of operating the facility and programming comes from members of the community who support via membership in the Friends of Arlington's Planetarium nonprofit organization. Volunteers actually run the monthly public outreach events. This is a great place to rediscover the beauty of the world and universe around us. There is a small parking lot outside the building and they do offer restrooms, as well as a small gift shop (table) inside. Thanks for an excellent evening. We will be back next month! :-)
