Passion Fruit Margarita / Margarita de Maracuya
    Lex V.

This place was great. As soon as you walk towards the building you can hear the live singer , singing old romantic classic which set the mood right. As we walked in they greeted me with a warm smile and hello. They checked my temperature with the digital scan. The restrooms were clean and soap and napkins were available. Everyone that saw me greeted me and were pleasant. We ordered a pitcher of passion fruit margarita it was really good , I wish it would've been a little more bubbly but you still tasted the liquor - it was good! I was skeptical about the appetizer beef and "cheese" empanadas but they surprised me- they were actually pretty good. The rest of the food was delish. Definitely recommend you check it out.

I don't understand why this place has uncertainties when it comes to reviews, but I kid you not the food is top tier & can compete with any high end restaurant. Will definitely visit again soon & give individual entree reviews. As a latino, I can say this food is as authentic as it gets. Hot and ready!!

One of the best places to get grilled chicken from along with natural juices for a great price. The staff was amazing as they made sure if I enjoyed the food and my experience there. Totally recommend for a quick bite with group of friends.

I went down to Morris Ave. today to try this Colombian spot, called Monchy's Famous Grill. I was initially attracted to it due to its menu, clean and bright interior, and daily specials they post on Facebook. They have three locations and from what I noticed while there, are extremely popular among the local crowd. Think of it almost as a Colombian Applebees as far as interior, menu, and service. Giant TV's surround the inside with nonstop music videos playing, albeit semi-loudly. The best deal there appears to be ordering their daily special, posted on Facebook, which comes with soup, an entree, and a fruit shake. I opted instead to order a strawberry/pineapple smoothie, cream of mushroom/chicken soup, and "Monchy's Famouse Burger." The fruit shake was awesome, the soup was really good as well. However, I think I may be giving up on Colombian-style burgers. Colombian style burgers are a popular street food defined by their plethora of toppings and sauces, and are usually a quite greasy mess. However, despite knowing this, I was a little disappointed in it. I'm used to Brazilian-style burgers, which are similar, but those are usually well kept together by the bun and are a bit more cohesive. This one basically fell apart after one bite, and the sauce and toppings were a bit overkill. It was topped with ham, mozzarella, bacon, potato stix, coleslaw, and a Russian dressing. It kind of felt like eating a messy Big Mac. The fries were pretty lackluster as well, and even the 3 sauces on the side they gave (wasakaka, pineapple sauce, more Russian dressing) couldn't save it. I may come again if I'm ever near Morris Ave., but I believe there are better options elsewhere.

I was visiting a friend and she took me to this restaurant. I had never had Columbian food before so I cannot say much on how Columbian food is. I felt somewhat uncomfortable since my friend speaks spanish and I do not. The waiter started by speaking spanish to her. But my food was very good, but I wish there was a little more flavor. I never had a corn bread / tortilla, but even with the meat, I thought there would be more flavoring. My friend and I shared a strawberry milkshake, which was very good, but had too much whipped cream. I thought the desserts and shakes were on the expensive side. I had a good experience and would come back again to give another opinion since it was my first experience with Columbian food.

So I came home from a long flight and decided to get a grilled chicken Monchy's Burger! Key word : CHICKEN!! After a few bites, I realized that there was a weird taste in my mouth. Long and behold, I look down and my chicken has bruises and is full of blood!! That is ridiculously uncalled for!! I am going to report them to the Department is Health and Human Services for the city and the state because this is NOT HEALTHY!!!!!!! Upset!!

GREAT GREAT GREAT FOOD!!! I got the hamburger it had potatoe sticks and it was amazing! I also had the lemonada de coco and it was made very fresh. Prices and portions are great for the price! Very decent pricing here and will def be coming back

This was our first time eating at a restaurant in Elizabeth. We ordered a variety of things from the bandeja paisa to the quesadillas and every was delicious. I am Colombian and am very picky when it comes to eating at Colombian restaurants in America but this place was as close to authentic Colombian food as you can get in the area. The place had ample seating nice environment with music playing and the waiter was super nice and welcoming. I love the modern feel too. We found parking right down the restaurant at a little parking lot. This was a great find and we will definitely be coming back.

You have to try a milkshake when you come to this spot. The price is fair the food was ok. But the guava milkshake was to die for. Desert looks great but I wasn't liking this was way too sweet...remember guava milkshake made with milk

After hearing good reviews and looking at photos on facebook I Finally got to come to this new Colombian spot myself. Starting with the decor, it's nice, clean and modern. The attention we got from the waiters and the owner was very good (very attentive). Once I opened the menu, I was like wow! So many mouth watering options to choose from! Food options from breakfast, sandwiches, salads, deserts and more that made the menu look dynamic!! I got the "Arepa Monchys" and it was very good with perfect seasoning and presentation. Their special lemonades are something unique to try that are very good. I recommend the "Maracuya con Lulo". This place was just recently opened from what I experienced this place is here to stay and compete with other surrounding restaurants. I definitely recommend this place, excellent food and service!!! I will definitely be back to try the other items soon!!!!

So I was very apprehensive to go to this location, especially because of some of the reviews that…read morespoke about ICE and I in no way wanted to deal with any shenanigans on our trip to New Jersey, but I took the risk anyway. They would have to take the whole restaurant because that's all there was there was Latinos maybe a small handful of Caucasians. This place was pretty packed on Friday with a DJ and karaoke but it's big enough that we didn't have to wait when we got there. When I say this food was amazing, I will have to say that it is the juiciest meat all across the board, the ribs, the beef, the pork, you name it and big portions of food. We all had an amazing time and left with leftovers that I was able to cook the next day and it tasted still as juicy and tender. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to New Jersey and going back to have some food!!!! Go Colombia

The place is massive, so I can't imagine there's usually much of a wait to be seated. Huge screen was playing soccer games and this place is definitely going to be packed during the World Cup. We ordered a couple of drinks and honestly they felt more watered down than anything else -- not really worth the price. The appetizers were good, but the service was lacking. We couldn't find anyone to bring us plates and it took so long that our entrees arrived before we even started the apps. The entrees themselves were good though -- generous portions and solid flavor. When the check came, I was disappointed to see a mandatory 20% gratuity included, especially since the service definitely didn't feel worth 20%, and we were only a party of four. Overall, it's pretty pricey as well. I might come back for the ambience and the food, but I won't exactly be running back.

So they always have amazing soups. Lots of creams (cream of sancocho, cream of broccoli, cream of…read morecarrot) delicious! I pair it with cheese bread and have them heat it up for me. They have a steak that has a strip of fat on it I like to pair it with papas criollas which are little baked yellow potatoes. My man is not a fan of the steak however and I'm not a fan of the potato salad. The steak comes out on a skillet so if you like your meat medium, ask for it med rare because it will continue to cook on the hot skillet. They always have daily specials which are decent for about $8 you get a soup, meat, a salad (potato, green, or beet) and a side (rice, plantains, tostones, etc.) beans are not included however which I think should be. If you dine in go to the bar side it's a lot nicer and a better atmosphere.

Second time around, the lady asked if we could wait en ocho minutos for fresh ones. Of course! While waiting, I was eyeing their doughnut called Churros Agruipe. Now I am regretting not trying it; it's killing me. So I must go back again.
