We have been loyal customers since they opened ,ordering here many times over the last few years . Unfortunately the last few orders the quality of our food has been so poor we can no longer buy food from here . There is almost no cheese on the pizza . They get your order wrong and act like it is somehow your fault . And I couldn't believe how gross their lasagna is now . I tried it. The meatball sandwich was edible. The salads are the worst I've ever seen and taste terrible. A blind person could of made it look better. French fries were soggy and looks like they were frozen and heated up in the microwave. You can get better pizza from the frozen food section at the store or little Caesars. Soooo disappointed with our pizza I can't tell you how sad it was. It was so undercooked so Dowie the toppings were just falling off and you couldn't even the pizza bread. The vegetables were barely warm the cheese barely melted and the dough was certainly not cooked. this is the first and last time I order pizza from this place I recommend staying away from it as far as you can if you decide you want to get a halfway decent pizza. The funny thing is my wife to say to get Little Caesars on the way home. Thank god because as cheap as that pizza is at least it's cooked. The pizza is pretty good and the wings are good to. I ordered a supreme and a Hawaiian with wings. I Have no complaints about any of their food. Wings are better than buffalo wild wings plus theres more meat on the wings than buffalo. Sauce is pretty good to. Definitely recommend this place over pizza hut, dominoes, and Papa John's. My husband comes here 3 times a week for their new beverage selection of root beers. If you're a root beer lover - stop by and checkout the selection. Pizza and sandwiches are good here too. Summary: the crust was unremarkable and they need a new mozzarella stick vendor. The pizza was good (other than the crust being so-so). Unique and delicious. But... I ordered an artichoke heart pizza and mozzarella sticks through the Slice app. The pizza had so much 'juice' on it. It wasn't grease -- I think it might have been juice from the can of artichoke hearts. The crust at the center of the pizza was saturated and soggy with the juice. The mozzarella sticks were small, burnt, and didn't have much cheese in them and the dipping sauce was the consistency of water. I cut one open and found two rice size nuggets of cheese. I contacted Slice and the restaurant called me to apologize and brought me another pizza. The crust was still obviously not made in the restaurant but the taste of the pizza was wonderful. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Mozzarella sticks were still the same way... horrible. I was told they buy the sticks frozen and just fry them up. read more

Friendly informative actual cares about customers. When you order a slice of pizza you can get a can of soda for $4.50, and the pizza is made fresh it's not sitting in a box all day. I don't remember her name, but the delightful lady working asked for some time, maybe 30 minutes or so, because it would take time to prepare. Very nice I have to say. These guys made me a very nice Calzone for dinner one day. It was a small calzone which came out looking much bigger than a small, not that there's anything wrong with that! At $8.99, I had them fill it with sausage, mushrooms, onions, and ricotta and mozzarella cheese. The calzone came with plenty of sliced Italian sausage, tender cooked mushrooms, and small chopped white onions. The mozzarella was fresh and melted throughout the inside of the calzone and the dollops of ricotta were fluffy creamy pillows. All the ingredients went well together and the calzone as a whole tasted terrific. The out side crust came glistening and spattered with Parmesan cheese which came the outside crust a nice saltiness. The calzones crust was very well made and had a good firm shell which led into a soft and moist inner crust. Very well done. I learned that one can make their calzone into a Philly Steak sandwich so that is in order for my next visit. The gents who were working the place were friendly and in high spirits when I came in. We recently moved to El Cajon and saw it when we grabbed Chinese food next door (which is also really freaking good!!!)... I looked it up a few days later and saw reviews/pics and I'm glad I did because all of their food looked yummy. True to form, this place was soo good. The crust is delicious, they're generous with toppings and it was delivered in a little more than half the time it said the order would take. I would've given 5 stars but the red sauce tasted just OK... it tasted like it needed something else but that's just my preference. I'll definitely order from here again. Will not order from here again. This review comes after 2 attempts of seeing if they would actually deliver my food w/ a mask on. First time -nope. Second time -nope. Scary! Additionally, freaky because when you use a credit card for payment, they don't process the card until they meet you at the door (instead of allowing you to pay w/ a credit card online). So, they have to call it in and you are stuck w/ a mask-less individual for several minutes. Pizza taste fine, but not worth the risk, especially after I finally read other reviews that the staff do not wear masks at their pizza shop. Yikes! read more

I have ordered from Monavala pizza twice now. The first time the pizza was great. The 2nd time not as much. The pizza was undercooked and kind of soggy of one of the pizzas. The toppings were fresh though but I do wish they would have cooked the pizza longer. One other downside was the time frame they give online was not how it actually happened either time. They were very apologetic about he first time so I did let it go but the 2nd time there wasn't any communication but took about 30 min longer than originally quoted. I wouldn't have minded so much if the pizza was great. I may give them another try in the future. read more

Pizza was ok nothing special, dough was a little to doughy for my liking. Got a Hawaiian pizza that was suppose to have Canadian bacon, but instead there was pieces of smoked deli ham. We were over the moon excited about Monavala Pizza. After a long and wonderful day at Espinoza trail, our family was asking for pizza and pasta. Yelp brought us to Monavala Pizza on our way home. We ordered pizza, a calzone, lasagna, garlic bread, spaghetti, breadsticks, a Greek salad and baclava and tiramisu. Despite ordering half the menu, it was relatively affordable. We got a feast. The small salad was large. The medium calzone was the biggest calzone I've ever seen. Almost like a family meal. They showed us everything we got to make sure nothing was left out. They insisted on helping us out to the car with all the food. They were out of baclava, so they provided us with two chocolate cupcakes. We felt so good about the service. The food itself was also amazing. My calzone was really just the perfect combo. (I got feta, spinach and artichoke, it came with ricotta). All the food was delicious. The adults were just gushing about the food and my kids devoured it silently (which says a lot). Highly recommend. And we will probably come back here again if we do this hike. read more

My pizza was delivered late and it was cold by the time it got here. I paid for 20oz bottles of soda and got 16 oz bottles. Not very good at all. BUT... That being said the pizza tasted really good. If I were to describe the perfect pizza it would be from here. First - their dough is great. It's light and thing and PERFECT! Second - they don't over do the cheese.
