We hired Scott to remove and replace our siding, replace our vapor barrier, replace our front gate and paint our entire home, and we couldn't be happier with the results!! We reached out to multiple companies and received various quotes. Scott was the most thorough, he took our concerns seriously and offered solutions. He was also the most budget friendly. He detailed out every cost for us so we knew exactly what we were paying for. Scott went above and beyond for us and did an outstanding job! I can't recommend him more. From day one his communication was excellent, he kept us informed every step of the way. He is respectful, tidy, and efficient. We have a small daughter and he was even kind enough to work around her nap schedule so that he wouldn't wake her! There were numerous little things through out our home renovation that stood out to us and really highlighted what a great contractor and person Scott is. We highly recommend Scott to anyone looking for an amazing general contractor. He delivers stunning high quality results! read more

We were moving into our new house on Saturday, and on a whim, I thought how nice it would be to have the upstairs bedrooms of our new house painted beforehand. It was Wednesday. I had a feeling that there was no chance anyone would be able to fit me into their schedule, let alone actually get the work done in time for our move in four days. I called Scott, and he cheerfully said that he could fit me in, which was amazing in itself. He met me at the house that very evening and went over colors with me. This man is passionate about color, and he knows what will look good in a room. He saw the types of colors I was interested in and was able to make suggestions that really fit my personal vision for my house but that I'll be happy with for years. He came back the next morning with samples and proceeded to do the work overnight and into the next day to finish it before we moved in. The paint job in the bedrooms and bathrooms is simply gorgeous. Everyone who comes over comments on how beautiful the colors are, and what a nice job it was. It really made the house feel like home before we even moved in, which was wonderful. I will definitely be calling on Scott in the coming years when we need exterior paint, or when we are ready to paint the downstairs rooms. read more

Scott Rafael is a master painter and craftsman who works extremely hard and has an eye for color. As busy as he is, Scott will do his best to accommodate your schedule and provide a competitive quote. Scott fulfilled several painting projects for us with his typical good nature and enthusiasm. To give you an example of his talent, we asked Scott if he could paint a wood grain look on our plain poplar ceiling beams as we near the end of a major remodel in Sonoma. Scott is so gifted that unless you look very carefully, you'd think the beams were genuine wood grain! Also, with years of experience painting and detailing a wide range of structures, Scott is in demand all around the North Bay and San Francisco. He's careful, conscientious, knows how to translate color from swatches to a broad surface and has a likeable personality. We highly recommend him and his work. read more

We were introduced to Scott through a previous customer who had Scott paint a commercial property for them. We needed to paint the interior of our entire house. Scott was exceptional. He not only kept to the budget and original time estimate but his attention to detail and workmanship is incredible. He works more like a craftsman which you don't see much anymore. I would recommend him highly and would not hesitate to use him again and again. read more

Thank you Scott. We are very happy with the painting and professional experience. You lived up to our friends review. Friendly, prompt, clean, started and finished on schedule. More details: Called for a bid and he was able to swing by Friday after work and had the bid out Sunday. He gave us a few options on work that was needed. After we selected him and what work we wanted he was able to squeeze us in between two larger jobs a few weeks out. We are lucky because most painters didn't even return my calls. He called a few days before starting to confirm that the start date was still good for us. He called again texted again the day before and of course arrived on time. Work finished on schedule by the end of the week and looks great! read more

Scott did an amazing job on the entire interior of my home and then some. All the walls of course, plus ceilings, doors, trim, and baseboard. He even made my stock, contractor-grade kitchen cabinets look amazing in a semi-gloss white! Scott does NOT do anything poorly and the end result shows it. Here's one example: Those kitchen cabinet doors? He takes the extra effort to remove the glass from the wood doors before painting them, then re-glues/seals it back into place later. (Otherwise, he explained, you'd be able to see the original color through the edge of the glass!) So many extra, tiny little details that he just does as part of the job. Like painting the furnace cold air return grate to match. And the doorbell chime cover. These are the "little" things that I surely would have skipped over if I were painting it myself, assuming I could have done half the job in twice the time that he did. I could go on. And not only is he a hard worker, but he has a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. Scott, thank you for all your hard work. You made that house look beautiful. read more

EVERYTHING the previous reviewers have said is true. Scott exceeds expectations, is profession, honest, fair and well, damn good at painting. HIRE HIM - YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! read more

I found Rafael Painting on Yelp after getting a few referrals for painters through word of mouth. I decided to go with Rafael Painting because he offered a color consultation and was willing to provide his opinion about my color choices. The reason I gave Scott Rafael a 5 out of 5 is because of his meticulous work. He painted 9 different large rooms and each one of them is perfectly painted. His crew is careful, removed light switch plates, door knobs, hooks instead of trying to paint around them which I really appreciated. The most attention to detail that I have ever seen from a painter. We are absolutely thrilled with the paint color choices and the job looks fantastic! I would hire him again without question. Other positives worth listing is that he and his crew is punctual, respectful and polite. We are extremely satisfied customers. read more

Shout out to Rafael Painting! They did such a wonderful job! Very professional, thorough, efficient, etc. I highly recommend this firm.

Can't say enough about how happy I am with Rafael Painting. Very quick call back, reasonable estimate, and beautiful work. Scott and his crew are very personable and professional with incredible attention to detail. Also so knowledgeable about colors and finishes. And they work so neatly. I will definitely use them again. read more

Interior painted to perfection. On time, efficient and provided excellent direction and color options. Would hire again for future projects. read more

Your response is total bs. You did not spend an hour at my house and you did not "educate" me on lead based paint. Yes, the original part of my house is pre-1978 but the interior is less than 10 years old. I do not appreciate being called a liar, which is essentially what you are doing. read more

I cannot recommend Rafael Painting highly enough. Scott is an enthusiastic man who is excited about his vocation; that's the first thing I noticed when he came to bid the job. He also pointed out and explained some recommended repair that he found while surveying the exterior of my house. Some of that repair was very obvious, once he pointed it out, and it is the reason I hired him over another very qualified painter. Scott's ethics are beyond reproach and the quality of his work is impeccable. He never hesitated to consult with me about his findings, and fully explain (and then show me) parts of my house that needed to be removed, repaired and/or replaced. In the end, we joked that he had done the painter's equivalent of oral surgery on my house. My home exterior is beautiful! I now have confidence that the awesome paint job he did is protecting the structure of my home. Scott is such a hard worker. He is cheerful, patient, funny and serious; in short, I enjoyed having him around. As for cost? In the short term, he may not be the least expensive (and yet his bid was very competitive with the known, quality, painter who also bid; within $75), but in the long-term, he's a phenomenal bargain. I don't want to, and won't have to, have my house painted for a very long time. I'll probably grow tired of the color, before that paint ever wears out! From start to finish, Scott consulted closely with me on: cost, quality of products used, time-frames, colors (and sampled a few for me), repairs and reasons for them. This man knows his work and he was able to do those repairs! He'll be back; we've got to do some interiors! Thanks Scott, you are an artist and a wonderful human being! read more

You have likely heard the phrase "Exceeding Expectations" in marketing literature. Scott is a painter who actually applies this concept to his work and business. Scott was a hard-working, honest, fair, perfectionist when it came to painting the exterior of our home. He used nothing but quality materials throughout the project and did not let the smallest imperfection get past him. We have and would highly recommend him to our closest friends and family. read more

Scott at Rafael Painting is the type of guy you want to work with. He came on time, submitted the bid quickly and completed the work very fast. The end result is GREAT. He helped me pick out the best colors for the interior of the rooms, and I was especially impressed that he took into considerations durability/life of the paint in rooms like the kitchen-which will help me save money in the future. I felt so comfortable with Scott in my house and he was very easy to communicate with via email, text and phone. The finished product is beautiful and I would not hesitate to recommend Scott to ANYONE! read more

Scott - Owner of Rafael Painting did an excellent job painting the interior of our home. His attention to detail was outstanding. His bid was an excellent value for all the work performed. He has a good sense of color and was extremely easy to work with. He used a higher grade of paint which reflected well when he finished the job. We highly recommend Rafael Painting. read more

A very pleasant guy and offered a competitive quote. He was very willing to work around our schedule given he is a busy guy, and had some good suggestions too on stuff we had not considered. We had to temporarily abandon our painting plans unfortunately for an unrelated reason, but I was impressed so far. Very responsive too outside of normal hours. Thanks Scott. read more

I found Rafael Painting on Yelp and decided to call for a bid because of the 5 star reviews. I cannot recommend Scott enough. He responded immediately and gave me a very competitive quote. I originally wanted our cabinets done but kept adding to the job because his quality of work was excellent. We ended up getting our cabinets, tile on fireplace, banister and a room painted. Very nice guy and very professional. I would give him more than 5 stars if it was possible. read more

Scott of Rafael Painting is one of the best painters I've worked with, and being in the design business for many years, I've worked with many. He's quick, accurate, offers good suggestions, and for the quality of work he does, reasonably priced. This is my second job working with him, and I'm sure there will be many more to come. read more

Scott did an amazing job on painting the inside of my whole house! Nine different colors! He was done in a week and a half and it looks like a brand new home. By his precise attention to detail, it's apparent he takes pride in his work. He was so easy to work with and had great suggestions. His rates are very reasonable and I would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

Scott painted my office many years ago and it was the most beautiful paint ever. He layered several colors to creat a foil like effect. I have since moved and now own a hotel in South Lake Tahoe. Remembering what a great job he did, I called and asked if he would be willing to travel up here and paint my lobby and dinning area. He did and just finished. It is beautiful. I like things unique and this time we added glitter to the paint for effect. He did a color called beach bum and then newspaper in another area both with the hint of sparkle. He also cut out a huge opening in a wall for a more open air effect between to smaller areas. The construction and muddying is perfect. Highly highly recommend he perfection in both paint and remodel. read more

Scott painted the exterior of our 1950s ranch-style home and we are very pleased with his work. He was very considerate of our family and took extra safety precautions during his prep work (we have a toddler who likes to stick EVERYTHING in his mouth). When we ended up not liking the color we chose initially (looked great on a swatch... not so much on a wall) he worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. We would definitely recommend Rafael Painting. read more
