Erick and his guys were absolutely terrific. He was very careful and detailed in assessing what the condition of the house was, looking carefully for any rot and chipping paint. The work was very clean and nicely done. They spent a lot of time masking so that there was no over painting. They did our entire exterior and portion of the interior. I would highly recommend them,. They also were very kind in following up with us when we called to tell them that we felt that one of the team had used a wire brush on our concrete patio that left lighter areas. He sent his guys over to do a full power wash, the entire patio, which is fairly large, even though they didn't have to do the whole thing. And it looks fantastic. We needed someone who could handle a few tricky home updates, and Erick at E Custom Designs Inc. delivered beyond expectations. We were replacing two 20-year-old sliding doors that were stuck, plus remodeling a fireplace--but not just any remodel. We wanted a modern design without losing our grandfathered-in wood-burning functionality, which is extremely important to us. With the sliding doors, Erick faced a real challenge. Our house sits on a slope and had shifted over time, which meant installing the new doors required redoing the decking on one side and leveling out the concrete on the other--issues we hadn't even considered. But Erick's eye for precision and commitment to quality made it all come together beautifully. As for the fireplace, I had a very specific vision: remove the outdated cut-out to create more living space, preserve the wood-burning feature, and incorporate a fresh design using limewash paint. The first color we picked ended up being completely off. Erick was so understanding and told us, "Pick the right color, and when you're ready, we'll make it happen." Even though this set his schedule back (and I know how tight those are in his line of work), he never pressured us to rush. Once I finally landed on the right shade, his team was back the very next day to finish it quickly and flawlessly. His attention to detail, beautiful custom carpentry, and collaborative design approach were exactly what we needed. Not to mention--when our water heater broke, my husband called him, and Erick had someone out the very next day. He genuinely cared and said, "I get it--cold showers and little kids don't mix." E Custom Design did a wonderful job on our interior repaint, which was complicated by the fact that we were actively using the house during the work. It was also complicated by the fact that we had a total of 12 color/sheen combinations throughout the house. They provided a bid that was not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, which is exactly what we were looking for. They did a lot of work for what they charged. One thing I appreciated was the attention to detail on the trim. You can always deduce the quality of a painter by how they do the edges. The paint is even, and the trim looks sharp. They are conscientious about cleaning up their drop cloths and organizing the materials left on site. We hired Erick and E Custom for an interior painting job in an old house undergoing a renovation. They did a great job and worked around a number of hurdles we put in front of them, I would recommend them and use them again. We live in and old Edwardian that required a lot of detailed work e.g. crown mouldings, french doors with glass, and curved ceilings that had numerous cracks.
