South Coast Botanic Garden - 4/12/26

South Coast Botanic Garden

A beautiful botanical garden in the South Bay that everyone can enjoy! It's perfect for all ages,…read moreand even dogs are welcome. There are always fun displays to explore throughout the year, from jack-o'-lanterns and dinosaurs to trolls, along with exciting events like Dogtoberfest, Lunar New Year, Astra Lumina, and Goat Yoga. My dog, Mochi, especially loves coming here on the last Sunday of every month for Dog Walking Day! I highly recommend getting an annual membership, which pays for itself after just a couple of visits. It's a wonderful place to visit again and again!

I was in LA today but wanted to get in earlier into the area so I wouldnt battle too much traffic,…read morebut in the end still stuck in miserable 405 traffic, so nevermind on that dumb plan haha. But, what I can smile about is that I got to enjoy the South Coast Botanical Garden before an afternoon commitment. I love botanical gardens and being outside and so anytime I can find some free time, I am busy being a Mowgli (as my ex husband used to call me haha). I made a beeline to get here because today was the last day of the Troll exhibition. I've chased these Trolls all around the world and love finding them. The bigger than life Trolls are the concept and creation by Thomas Dambo and they can be found all over Denmark and the US. I need to check to see if he has brought his Trolls elsewhere but I am in love with these Trolls! They are so adorable, whimsical and fun! They are also made out of sustainable or recycled wood, so there is an environmental friendly component to Dambo's works! He has also brought his Troll to Burning Man the past of couple of years too. My dream would be to see them on the playa sometime! Maybe in 2027!! This garden was great and I really enjoyed it. Its well laid out with so many beautiful trees, plants, flowers, etc. My only gripe was that today being Oct 4, it was like close to 100F and it was super hot! I ended up staying about 1.5 hours here and it was quite hot by the time I left around 12:30pm, but I did get to find all 12 of the Trolls so that made me super happy!! There was also a butterfly exhibition here but that costed another $9 and also I didnt have time today to see it. I'd definitely come back again and maybe when the weather is cooler, I wouldnt feel like I was melting!! Great botanical garden! Loved it!

Redondo Beach Historic Library - Rendering for The Grand Hall during Renovations

Redondo Beach Historic Library

Not only is the venue a beautiful place to be, but the energy of the staff and environment was so peaceful and positive. There is ample parking, so all my guests had a super easy time getting to our event. We had about 300 guests, and everyone fit comfortably inside. Most of our guests loved taking pictures outside on the patio--golden hour was truly breathtaking! The venue, community, and overall vibes made this an event to remember.

Historic building. Ocean views. Sunsets. Gorgeous Grand Hall. You walk outside with a cocktail, and the Pacific Ocean is sitting there like it was hired by Meagan & team. Great views. Great vibes. But the real secret sauce is the staff! Meagan is UNREAL with communication and logistics. Responsive, organized, always thinking three steps ahead and somehow never seems rattled. Savanna and the boots-on-the-ground crew are fantastic and make everything run smoothly when there are a million little things happening at once. Catherine in the back of house is the quiet assassin. Just quietly kicking ass, solving problems and making things happen without needing a parade about it. And Meg from Made by Meg is an absolute delight and brings another whole layer to the experience. The coolest part is that everybody actually works together. There's no weird event-venue chaos where six different people somehow have six different answers. The entire team is cohesive, communicative and seems invested in making your event successful. We've had hundreds of people come through the Library for Sunset Comedy and the response has been incredible!!! If you're considering having an event here, DO IT. I genuinely cannot recommend this team or venue any more highly. This place is POPPING! And it's just getting started! Great views. Great staff. Great vibes.

They already have some great shows lined up for 2027. The place is big, with a few art centers. The main building is small enough that there is not a bad seat in the house. Parking is so easy and it is free. The staff are all volunteers and they are just great. Make sure you print out your tickets or have them held at will call. They have some nice snacks, but not overloaded. We have seen so many shows there, from the ballet to rock and tribute bands, that are great. We saw the Laurel Canyon Sound there and there were a few bands and they were amazing. You will love this place.

I remember taking ballet as kid and modern dance as a teen. I also took a workout class when I was in college. I always appreciated the large and spacious dance studios where the classes were held. Now that I'm older I've also come to appreciate Torrance Cultural Arts Center as a venue. I've been to several different festivals here such as the Japanese Matsuri Festival and Lunar New Year festival. This spot is perfect for the community to get together and like how each festival is able to have many different booths. I also love how there is a stage area both outside and inside. I've also attended the Torrance Firefighters' Annual Spaghetti Dinner here. This is another great event at this spacious venue. Despite it being quite a popular dinner, there''s plenty of room for all to enjoy an evening out. Torrance Cultural Arts Center is great! Whether it be for classes or community events or festivals, this spot is perfect for small or large gatherings.
