Creative Multicare, LLC * Founded in 1992 in Atlanta, providing plumbing, resurfacing, and floor care services to managed rental homes and multi-family properties, with operations expanded into Tampa/St. Pete, Orlando, and Jacksonville. * Headquartered in Atlanta, employing over 300 technicians and completing over 165,000 jobs a year. * It's not itself independent -- in 2022 it took a strategic growth investment from Trivest Partners, a Coral Gables-based private equity firm with over $2.5 billion in assets under management, focused on founder-led and family-owned businesses. * Its most recent deal was a buyout/LBO of All Year Cooling And Heating, closed March 1, 2024. So the ownership chain is roughly: Trivest Partners (PE firm) invested in/backs Creative Multicare Creative Multicare acquired All Year Cooling & Plumbing in 2024. This is a classic private-equity "roll-up" pattern in home services -- a PE-backed platform company acquires local, founder-run HVAC/plumbing businesses (like All Year) to consolidate them under one larger operating group, while often keeping the original brand and local leadership (like Tommy Smith) in place for continuity.

This has been the worst experience ever, and I hope no one else has to go through it…read more Since this new unit was installed about 3-4 years ago, there have been nothing but problems mainly involving water, and I'm in a condo. It's to the point I'm afraid to leave town for fear of another water incident that would damage my unit or my neighbors' units or having a complete failure of the system that would ruin my laminate floors and risk mold from the humidity. The only reason I gave any stars is that the technicians (and there have been around 20 of them) have all been very nice though unable to fix the problems. I tried to reach Tommy, the owner you see on TV, and the closest I got was someone in his office who promised it would be taken care of. I have to consider replacing the whole system after only this short but aggravating time just to preserve my health and sanity.

Terrible customer service -- defective unit, months without AC…read moreI installed a Daikin variable speed AC unit from this company in 2022, and since then I've had three major breakdowns where the system stops working entirely -- most recently starting at the end of June, when the unit was running and blowing cold air but couldn't keep up, leaving the house at 80 degrees by late afternoon. I want to be fair: the technicians themselves are knowledgeable and clearly put in long, hard hours trying to fix the problem. My complaint isn't with them -- it's with the company's customer service, which is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. First they diagnosed a bad compressor, but it took over a month for them to even tell me when the part would arrive. Once they finally had it in early August, their AI phone system told me I was scheduled for install the next day -- nobody called, nobody showed up. I called that afternoon, called again the next morning, and only heard back late Friday with a promise that a senior tech would install it Monday. That didn't fix it either. Since then they've been back repeatedly. A senior tech made adjustments over a weekend that didn't work. I called Monday to report it, they sent the tech back out, and he said he was out of ideas and that they'd need to loop in the manufacturer -- which meant it was now up to their customer service team to schedule that appointment. That was three business days ago. I still haven't heard a word, despite calling multiple times. This is the pattern every single time something goes wrong: you can never get a person on the phone. Their AI chatbot can schedule routine service but can't follow up on an actual issue. If you ask for a person, you get routed to a voicemail that promises a callback "within the hour" -- don't believe it. More often than not, nobody calls back, and I have to call two or three more times before anyone gives me a real update. I'm repeatedly told things are being "escalated to management," and then nothing happens until I chase it down myself. And this isn't a one-time fluke -- it's happened all three times the system has gone down. Every single failure has followed the exact same script: silence, unreturned calls, and vague promises of a callback that never comes. The only way I ever get real information is by calling repeatedly and being loud and persistent about it. If I don't push, nothing moves. And every single time, without exception, it has taken multiple weeks to actually get the system fixed. Bottom line: the equipment they sold me has failed three times in under three years, and each time the company's broken communication system turns a repair into a weeks-long ordeal. Given how often this specific Daikin variable speed unit has failed, I also would not recommend anyone buy this unit -- between the product's own reliability issues and this dealer's inability to service it competently, I would not recommend this company, or this unit, to anyone.

Highly Recommended! Excellent Service and Fair Pricing…read more South Florida Ducts came highly recommended by a friend. Knowing how particular and discerning she is, I was confident that the company had to be excellent--and I was absolutely right! They replaced the ductwork in my upstairs after rodents had chewed through it. The two technicians spent approximately five hours at my home, and they did an outstanding job. Once the work was completed, they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, leaving virtually no evidence that they had even been there. Before hiring South Florida Ducts, I obtained an estimate from another A/C contractor. I found that quote to be excessively high, so I decided to get a second opinion. South Florida Ducts provided an estimate that I considered reasonable and fair. Even better, the final cost did not increase as the work progressed! In my experience, with contract work, it is not unusual for unexpected issues to arise and the cost to increase along the way. I was therefore particularly impressed that South Florida Ducts honored its original estimate without adding unexpected charges. Based on the quality of their workmanship, their professionalism, their attention to cleanliness, and their fair pricing, I would highly recommend South Florida Ducts to anyone needing ductwork services. It is refreshing to find a company that delivers excellent work without unpleasant surprises!

The…read moretechnicians were always on time and courteous and our air conditioners generally ran and performed well. Then the compressor in one of our 9-year-old condensers failed. Two technicians from other companies noticed the condensation bulb in the air handler was removed and said that was a big no-no that could have contributed to the unit failing. (I'm not saying it did since there's no way to know but it was certainly disturbing to hear that). When I asked SFD about this, they they either never noticed it or just missed it and that it wasn't that big of a deal. That was a little disappointing to hear because we paid hundreds of dollars for their bi-annual maintenance plan and they had just inspected the units although this time they sent a less experienced tech. They also gave us conflicting information about whether the other (working) air handler needed to be cleaned or not. I liked these guys a lot and trusted them but ultimately there were too many red flags and so they lost our business.
