West London has no shortage of curry houses - from the cheap and cheerful (cf Riverside Tandoori) through to the 'normal' chicken tikka type places up to fairly trendy and modern.
Monafs is neither cheap and cheerful (though it is cheerful) nor modern trendy, however, the food is very good. Most of the menu choices are what you'd expect to see on a British curry menu - chicken tikka, lamb dansak and madras and so forth. There are a few less common menu items, such as whole fish (I can recommend the trout jelay specifically). They have a limited wine selection, and the usual Indian lagers.
So far, so British Curry. However, the food is excellently prepared and flavoured. Even the common dishes have something a little special (you can actual see the lentils in the dansak, for example).
Each main dish at Monaf's is, I'd say, about a pound more than you might pay at a similar Indian/Asian restaurant in the area, but it is a pound well spent.
