The gentleman here was so nice. Wine was really good. Try it again. Like the sweet ones and the red Zin.

If I could give this business a -1 minus star for my review it would go like this:…read more1. If you want to be overcharged for junk food dressed up like "a gourmet delight" eat here. 2. We tip for service does not apply here. They automatically charge you a pre-estimated 20% tip for service. 3. They can't cook and rely mostly on alcohol to promote their snack sales. The upper management is prissy and contemptuous. Establishments like this forget who the customer is. Although they do have culture and the business layout looks really nice. But that's about it.

Big plus of this place besides the good food was that we could walk here from our hotel around the…read morecorner. I did make a reservation on-line but couldn't get anything early except for an hour out so we walked over and immediately got a table - go figure. The service was a bit slow - not sure if they were lacking help but it was a drag. The score on this place would have been lower due to this issue but the food was strong and it was $7 martini night (on Tuesdays). I got one that tasted like a Blue Hawaiian, another got the Purple Haze and the third got the Strawberry shortcake- all looked beautiful and were very good. I ordered the BBQ chicken flatbread with a Korean BBQ flavor which was exceptionally good. My wife ordered the quinoa bowl which included chicken - she liked it a lot. The others had a different flatbread (I don't recall which one) and stuffed mushrooms which they shared and gave good reviews. The prices were reasonable. This place also is a wine store, thus the name.

My fiancé and I had high hopes for "Mondo! on the River" based on the glowing reviews, but after…read moretwo visits--one of which ended with us walking out--we sadly won't be returning. From both experiences, it felt like the restaurant is run by a team with limited customer service experience. It wasn't a staffing issue; there were at least six employees on the floor each time. The problem was attentiveness and follow-through. On our first visit with family, we ordered drinks and food. The "Vegetable Situation," "Mushroom Linguine," and "Meat Parade" pizza were all genuinely good. The cheese flight, however, was underwhelming--especially for a wine bar--and lacked thoughtful presentation. Service was slow and disjointed, but we chalked it up to a possible off night and decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, our second visit confirmed our concerns. We sat at the bar hoping for quicker service. After ordering our first drink, we were left unattended for an extended period. The bartender disappeared, and we eventually saw them chatting casually with a guest in the wine shop. That was our cue to leave. We really wanted to love this place. The food has potential, but the lack of hospitality and consistency makes it hard to recommend.

Views are good, staff is friendly and helpful with selections. Food is reasonably priced and tasty.read more

Attended a corporate function in the private party room (towards back of restaurant). Hinterland is…read morethe type of place where you can be super casual but also enjoy a more elevated dining experience. The main dining room can get very loud on busy nights so I appreciated the more closed off space for a large dinner event. The caveat being we received spotty service - for example, water pitchers were set in the corner and you had to get up to pour your own water. At minimum, it would've been better to just leave pitchers on the table directly for faster access. Food was hit or miss. While we loved the appetizers, half of our table found their main entrees to be MEH. For example, my halibut arrived warm but the curry was room temperature. My colleague said her burger was one of the worst she's had. My other colleague said his steak was mediocre. People who ordered pizza loved it. An unfortunate mixed bag given the lively environment and nice ambiance. I'd come back again to give it another try because the menu rotates enough where I'm sure I'll land on some better food options next time.

Honestly. I try to visit Hinterland each time I visit. Every time I enjoy a meal and a brew and am…read morenever disappointed. Usually breweries are good at brewing beer OR making food. It's a rare find when they crush both! This ragu was made with homemade bucatini (love this pasta) and the pasta has a lovely chewiness to it that makes it the ultimate comfort food. The sauce is complex (definitely not canned sauce) and has a wonderful range of flavors with a hint of heat but absolutely delicious. I am dining alone but you could easily share this especially if you order a salad to share. I love this place and they never disappoint. Servers are exceptionally attentive and I always leave satisfied with my life choices.
