Not really sure what the hype is here. Read all the great reviews and came to try it. Everything is in to-go containers and is microwaved and presented on a plate. The meatballs were chewy and not well flavored. The sauce also has a curry taste to it. If the price was in line with Ikea, sure it's worth it. But at the price point, you may as well go try a legit place.

This place was my first try with Swedish meatballs. The spot is fast casual, counter serve. They prepare their meals in the morning and reheat them for you if you choose to eat them there. The meatballs were cooked right , and the mashe potatoes were just like a good home cooked meal. No fuss and not too much butter. They had other Swedish dishes that I didn't get to try as the portions are filling. Will come back.

Best restaurant in town! We came in as a large group and was met by such a genourus and kind owner. Great service and food.

I loved loved loved coming here. I spent my last meal here and enjoyed every bit. The owner, Christian, is extremely friendly and welcomes all questions. He recommended the dagens (spelling?), which was a salmon and cod tomato stew with boiled potatoes. It was so good and the perfect comfort food feeling. There's also complimentary salad, bread, and water. I left extremely happy and highly recommend this place. Even though they warm up the food they have prepared in plastic containers (for easy take out), you would not be able to tell! Thanks Christian for a lovely send off, chat, and the incredible hospitality!

After reading great reviews about this place, I made it my mission to eat at this place during my short time in Stockholm. There are so many good things to say about this restaurant/caterer: *the food is SUPER *the owner, Christian Taylor, was congenial (and from Los Angeles where I am from) *affordable *1 1/2 miles away from T-Central (the owner said he has a closer location to T-Central) *Take Out or Eat In In addition to ordering Swedish Meatballs, I had the owner choose three additional entrées (for take out): Pannbiff (meatloaf with a cream sauce with a side of root vegetables), meat and potatoes, slow cooked lamb and rice. To make it a meal, Christian gave us complimentary salads (you can never get enough vegetables while traveling) and several slices of dense Swedish bread and butter and little cups of lingonberries which are like cranberries for Thanksgiving dinner. Oh my!!! If you eat in, there is self-serve bread, butter, water or you can get soft drinks or beer from the fridge. For all my friends traveling to Sweden, I'm recommending this place.

We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

We were hungry and just wanted a decent dinner prior to going out that night. Dining here was one of the best decisions during our time in Stockholm. Apparently I'm not the only one - since last I visited it is now placed on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for Stockhom, and rightfully so. Upon entry you'll already feel a lovely blend of Swedish design and quirky aesthetic choices that signal you're in for a good experience. While the interior is tasteful, there are elements like chairs being mounted on the walls and a couple of the seatings being perched up on mounts near the front windows. Everyone who greets you and serves are very delightful, charming, and often funny, which really sets the tone wonderfully. The food itself is on the heartier side but all really well considered and delicious. We had the see bass ceviche with tomatoes (fresh, tangy, and complex) and iberico ham with parmesan (basic but very high quality ingredients), both of which were really delicious. The complimentary bread rolls and butter were really delightful, cooked with a bubbly crunchy texture that was delightful to chew. The main courses included their classic pork confit dish as well as another ibercio pork entree with white beans, cilantro, and chorizo - both were savory and very meat-forward but the star of the show was absolutely those white beans which were prepared in a very savoury sauce. Our total bill including a very good bottle of pinot noir from Napa Valley the bill came to around $240 USD. For the quality of the food, service, and attention to style, as well as the distinction of being a recognized place to eat in Stockholm, I would definitely recommend this place to any traveler who wants to experience local cusine in Stockholm.

Everything you'd need for the perfect meal out! They do not accept reservations and we went on a Sunday evening around 8:30 pm. We waited about 30 minutes, but boy was it worth it! We were seated at a cute little corner table that had pads on the benches, right next to a window to see the street. Lighting was dim and cozy. Service was the best I've had in recent memory. Our waitress was peppy despite having to deal with a long line and probably a long day. She was friendly, attentive, and so cheerful! 100/10. We started with the reindeer salad since my bf had never had reindeer before. While the reindeer seemed less cooked than expected, by the end he really liked the mix of flavors and thought it paired well with the salad. We both got the Swedish meatballs for our entrees and loved them! We both loved the pickled cucumbers and lingonberries. The lingonberries pair so well with the meat! While there are only 3 meatballs, they were so huge neither of us could finish all of them. Especially because I wanted to save room for dessert: the sponge cake! While it didn't look like much on presentation, it was surprisingly moist and the cream and berries were absolutely delicious. My bf said he was only going to have one bite (he's not a big dessert guy) but instead ended up eating half! Highly recommend! Overall would come back again just for the vibes, service, dessert, and to probably try another entree, which I'm sure would be good as well! Unfortunately, for most of the meal, the food itself didn't fully live up to the reputation. We ordered a pretty broad range of dishes. The herring was a bit of a miss for us and felt messy rather than memorable. The girls had the meatballs and a mushroom dumpling dish, but neither one really enjoyed their meal. Both dishes leaned very salty, to the point where it took away from the overall experience. I ordered the venison, which was fine, but not particularly special. It was one of those dishes that was technically okay, but didn't make me want to keep eating. I honestly didn't finish it. Mia ordered the cod, which looked good, but again, it didn't feel like anything spectacular or especially memorable. What completely changed the tone of the experience was the service. Toward the end of the meal, our server noticed that I hadn't eaten much. Without making a big deal out of it and without me asking for anything, he brought over a steak with potatoes and fries. That dish was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. More importantly, the gesture itself was incredibly thoughtful. That kind of hospitality is rare. He didn't have to do it. I wasn't complaining, and I wasn't expecting anything. I was prepared to leave the meal as-is. But the fact that he noticed and cared enough to make the experience better says a lot about the service and the professionalism of the staff. So while the original food we ordered was hit-or-miss, the service elevated the evening in a major way. The meal itself may not have been excellent across the board, but the hospitality was. For me, this ends up being a four-star experience: not because every dish landed, but because the staff turned what could have been a disappointing dinner into something memorable.
