My experience with Moms in Motion was extremely disappointing and, at times, disturbing due to the behavior displayed by Kyra Williams, one of their Service Facilitators. Her communication style was highly aggressive, accusatory, confrontational, and intimidating throughout our interactions from the very beginning. The tone she used when speaking to me felt hostile and unnecessarily combative, especially considering families working with these services are often already under immense stress and confusion. Instead of feeling supported, I felt uncomfortable, anxious, and at times uneasy during our communications. What made the situation even more concerning was the lack of professionalism and accountability afterward. I reported the behavior and was told someone would follow up with me regarding my concerns, yet no one ever did. I also personally emailed leadership, including the President(Mary) and COO(Joy), and Benita Adkins, detailing the experience and expressing concern about how I was aggressively treated, and I received no meaningful response or resolution. That silence spoke volumes. Our initial paperwork and approval process also took nearly four months. During that time, CDVN informed us that delays were connected to Moms in Motion submitting paperwork late, which only added more stress and hardship to an already difficult process. There were also multiple instances of staff(Kyra) blaming one another for providing incorrect information, creating confusion, and making the entire experience feel disorganized and chaotic. After reading through many of the other reviews, here and elsewhere, it became very clear that my family's experience was not isolated. Many of the same concerns about poor communication, lack of professionalism, delayed paperwork, and negative staff interactions were repeated by others. Unfortunately, it all started to make sense. Families dealing with serious health and caregiving needs deserve compassion, professionalism, respect, and competent support. Unfortunately, that was not the experience my family received from Moms in Motion. Please do not work with this business. It's not worth the time/headache/pain caused. read more

I wouldn't recommend working for this company nor would i recommend becoming a Service Facilitator II (unless you like either getting fussed out by clients or if you wanna be argumentative with a client almost every day or getting frustrated from a case manager who doesn't like to schedule you correctly or like getting wear and tear or high mileage on your car) then it's for you. Clarity was something that they failed to provide from the start. My job title was a Service Facilitator II . From what i was told in my interview, i was only suppose to go to the clients home go over there paperwork and be assigned a designated area, and my pay was determined on how many signatures i did, well honestly i would always seemingly needed to cover three cities (tolls included) because someone always left repeatedly, i always did over 100+ signatures but my check always was $1,000 or less (each signature is $20, do the math and yes highway robbery ) i fell behind so bad in bills because no one could get my pay together. My last straw with this company was because my managers boss didn't like that i called her out on a email that simply had nothing to do with her (and she never was available for anything else but let you be in fire and man you can find her easily) she bluntly was trying to cover for a mistake that clearly was not fixed by the case manager ; i mentioned that if she wants to make sure something like this never happens again then maybe you all need to give me proper training on how to correctly do things because we were only taught how to do a 99 and 97 and that's it - she went and talked to my manager and was trying to make her to get me to sign a corrective action notice in order for me to get retrained in how to do any other paperwork then what was provided in my training. I never in my life quit and left a job so fast and didn't have anything else lined up for me so fast. Now when anyone mentions moms in motion I clearly would tell them to find another agency to work because personal experience the same way they treat their clients is the same way they treat their employees- meaning THEY DON'T CARE. read more

Navigating Virginia's waiver process is not an easy feat. There's no guidance or manual. It's all word of mouth. During the early days of our storm, we struggled to gain access to services. I attended seminar after webinar after meeting. We had our screening finally; we were approved! We were handed a 30-page list of providers. Overwhelmed I started to read. We tried agency-directed services first. What a revolving door of characters that was. I went back to that stack of providers. I searched and decided to pick out a name that spoke to me. I came across Moms In Motion. MOMS? They must be just like me. I called my caseworker and asked that my documentation be sent to them. We received our first home visit: the SF was on time, came prepared, and kept me focused as I tried to understand all she was saying while managing behavioral challenges going on around me. She left materials for me to go over in time and told me she would be back in 30 days. It took 3+ months to fully understand the process. Not for lack of the SF knowing what needed to be done, but the process and amount of the information is just tedious and overwhelming; so many moving parts. A Medicaid Waiver requires so much to get it up and running, but with patience and support from Moms In Motion, we eventually became a smooth operation! Fast forward several years later. More changes were coming. I decided it was time to consider employment, and they hired me. They allowed me parttime work and gradually I ended up full time. I watched from the inside as they navigated the changes of 2017, careful to educate families on what they needed to know and minimize as much impact as possible. From the outside looking in, you don't know what they go through to get our services up and running. There is a lot of advocacy that goes on within the belly of the beast. From the inside, the machine never stops rumbling. My first encounter with type service, and I must say that I feel humbled. The service is for my 90-year old mother-in-law, whom my husband and I took in May when she was disowned by her other sons in Florida. We are both retired police professionals from NJ and have been in Dillwyn for 14 years. Mom's transition from Florida Medicaid to Virginia Medicaid and health services was made smoother by Moms In Motion. We've never seen them but their telephonic presence and customer care is remarkable. We've spoken to Britney several times, who has advised us on the process and offers help ANYTIME!! with paperwork or other issues. We've spoken to the Nurse Coordinator and to Consumer Direct. I don't know what we'd do without them. THEIR CUSTOMER CARE has been SECOND TO NONE!! Thanks to Moms in Motion. Antonio called to set up an appointment for a home visit for Moms & Motion.  He didn't know when he called that I had questions that needed to be answered.  He was very willing to help, patient and asked if I needed anything else.  That speaks volume when you call people for help and they put you on hold, recording tell you that you are caller #?; then when they get online they can't seem to help you with what you need.  Antonio is a highly skilled healthcare professional who is knowledgeable about the business in every aspect of the way.  He helped me set up an employee on the portal in which we went through many calls trying to get that done.  He told me what to do to get mom supplies ordered and then asked if I needed anything else.  He stated if I do, feel free to call and someone could help me with whatever I needed.  Antonio customer service and health care customer service skills were second to none.  He was very professional, quick and on his way to his next appointment. Thank you for helping our family through the waiver process, including multiple transitions with different MCO's when Molina went away and when we had to change fiscal agents. Virginia Medicaid Waivers are confusing and yet we are able to benefit from them because of the services Moms in Motion provides us. We loved our old service facilitators Chastity and James K., he was great too. When he came to the house for a visit we loved that he took the time to talk to the family including our grandson. He was always flexible and would wait for us to get home if he showed up early and we were not there yet. We have a new SF now and she is also so kind! I understand that staff will change over time, but I am always thankful that Moms In Motion tries to make sure that they hire great people that actually care about us. Their fiscal agent support team has helped us a lot as well, Ashley was so kind enough to get on the phone and help us with payroll paperwork and call PPL to resolve the concerns we had. read more

I have been assisted this year 2025 by Samantha Baldwin who has been extremely helpful and instrumental in finally helping me navigate all the people involved and I just want to Thank her for her help and follow through to getting closer to finally making this a reality for myself and my paraplegic husband. Y'all, I'm so pleased with Moms In Motion. I am a mom to two boys who have been clients of Moms In Motion for 9 years now. In all that time, I have NEVER (not once) had any issues with authorizations. My service facilitators have all been so kind and well versed in all things waiver-related. One thing I've learned in the last nine years is that the world of waivers is always evolving. With legislation passing, budget overhauls, and government mandated changes, Moms really seems to be on top of it all. And don't get me started on their compassion for my boys and our circumstances. They care about us, as a whole family! I now have a lifelong friendship with a previous SF. I Denise Byron love the company that I'm with moms in motion I have a new worker so I have to get to know her better but my old worker was awesome alot of companies try to take all of the hours away from people who really need them and I hope that they don't ever be the ones needing the services or a family member. I wanted to share how wonderful our most recent visit was with Melissa. She was incredibly kind, patient, and professional throughout the entire home visit. She did not rush me when we were discussing updates and changes due to new DMAS rules, and she took the time to really listen and explain everything clearly. Even though my nephew was not feeling well during the visit, she still made a point to acknowledge him, speak to him directly, and include him in the interaction. That meant a lot to us. I give my facilitator Maura White 5 stars . She is very nice , a great person and always concern about her patients. She shows up on time . I have had several facilitators she has been the best one so far. I would recommend her to anyone. I hope she will always be my sons facilitator . My son doesn't communicate a lot but he really likes her and so do I. If I have questions she always is willing to help me out, and lets me know ahead of time things will be changing so we will be look ing forward to it. As a parent I know she cares for others . I have had more than 20 years of experience with disability service agencies. This agency is the first (only) to recognize the value of patients remaining in their homes. Mostly, I found other services (VCSB in particular) to have an undercurrent agenda of controlling the households where biological parents are the caregiver. ; For instance, they make frequent requests for more paperwork, or to re-do an official document, or put the blame on parents for mistakes the agency made. There is almost no way to report their bad behavior. I have found that MOM'S IN MOTION truly cares about the clients' best needs rather than control of the "employees". read more
