My mother been with Mom's in Motion been since June 2023. I expected to be properly guided through these processes but unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Throughout our time with your company, there has been consistent difficulty in communication, a lack of clarity regarding required paperwork, and frequent staff turnover that has disrupted continuity of care. Most significantly, the issues resulted in a serious break in pay for my mother's personal care provider. In August 2025, I was not informed in a timely manner that paperwork was due, which caused delays in payments to my mother's caregiver. Compounding this problem, there was a transition between insurances which I was not properly notified. As a result, the caregiver worked without pay from 4 months in 2025. I do believe there is a labor law for someone to clocking in to work and not get paid. After numerous attempts on my part to resolve the matter, I confirmed that payment authorization has been approved for that same time periods. Therefore, I cannot accept the statement that "there is nothing you can do," when proper authorization for payment exists. Your response is unprofessionally and unacceptable! Unfortunately, 1 star is to high for them. Over worked Facilitator whose the contact between Anthem, Medicaid and MIM. This co.pany is a money grab. DEI (white woman) yes they are the biggest receiver of DEI. Working from home. Shell of an office and they put everything on the Facilitator the blame and the work. If you ever get a hold of anyone besides the Facilitator consider yourself blessed. Run there are better agencies out there. My daughter lost hours because they put 2 word sentence to Medicaid about services needed. As the mother of 2 autistic daughters I have legal documents they told me were not needed. When I called Medicaid I was told those documents would definitely help my case. Worthless! I acutally question whether the role of Service Facilitator adds value to the Medicaid Waiver process. CDCN processes the payroll. Moms was supposed to meet with us periodically, but I can't identify a useful purpose served by these meeting. The icing on the cake was that Moms in Motion failed to submit my daughter's renewal for Medicaid Waiver Services until I nagged them about it. The fact that they missed the deadline resulted in delayed payment of my daughter's aide. Most recently, Moms failed to respond to several emails from our CSB Service Coordinator, so the missed the meeting for this year's renewal. Worthless! read more

I am giving Moms in Motion a rating of one. The only reason they received that is because authorization for my hours after 8/31/2025 was not obtained until this past Monday, which caused a lapse in approval. The company's quality of service has declined significantly. Emails and phone calls are rarely returned, yet clients are frequently told to "please be patient with us due to turnover." I recently received notice of a new service facilitator and case manager, but this was the first communication I've had about staffing changes in quite some time. Unfortunately, there is a pattern of constant staff changes, repeated apologies, but very little actual improvement. I am truly disappointed and tired of dealing with the ongoing issues. read more

Joy, I am aware of everyone's roles. As you know, the Service Facilitator conducts home visits and submits authorizations. We had a visit in May. MIM finally responded yesterday and said that the insurance company did not approve. I called the insurance company and they said that they did not receive the authorization request until June 13, which is three weeks after the home visit and the day that I reached out to EVERYONE at MIM and no one would answer. I have been lied to several times about the required frequency of home visits. They blamed the insurance company. It's really that SFs only get paid for home visits, so they want to come every month. My case requires every 6 months. The Care Coordinator is saying no, I am being forced to do every month. The lack of consistency and dishonesty is alarming. I have already reached out at the email address. I called the agency and left a message for the division manager as well. So far, you have responded through Yelp, and the Cate Coordinator called yesterday to tell more lies. read more

Look at all the 1 and 2 stars here...for legitimate reason. This is the worst service I've ever experienced from any company. They have been so negligent that it's driven me into financial collapse. I'm a full time caregiver for a bedridden stroke victim. I work 70+ hours a week for him. I'm his only chance of living at the home he's had for 50+ years. MIM have dragged their feet for months, putting us at the very edge of disaster...both his home and mine. I've been working full and overtime hours for 19 months, with NO days off...and I've continued this without any pay for the last 3 months, knowing the client has no one else to turn to, and assuming MIM would get it straightened out. Nope. Because of this, I can't keep up with bills. I've borrowed all I can...now my car has been authorized for repossession. I am sad to say we are required to use "middle men" for support for our autistic son. We chose moms in motion because they marketed "doing the right"thing for the person that needs assistance and the whole family. That is not our experience. They have a very high turn over, do not do visits, are behind on paperwork every cycle and cause interruptions in care for our son. We had a similar experience to Amy F. below. They would often schedule at the LAST minute as in AN HOUR BEFORE coming with NO WARNING. Then, if you said you were busy, they wrote you up for refusing a visit! Sounds like ENTRAPMENT to me! Then, they would fail to reschedule which they are SUPPOSED TO DO AT EACH VISIT! They do not understand that you have to prepare and waste your day waiting on them and will cancel on you and ask you to reschedule all the time! So, you end up going to two meetings in one month, one where they didn't show but you waited and prepared, and one where they finally showed up and, AGAIN, you waited and prepared. We begged them to please schedule based on our child's needs, but they refused stating their caseload warranted them fitting us in "their slots" based on THEIR NEEDS. PEOPLE AREN'T WIDGETS! Don't dare ask them to do less visits or hire more staff, so that they can lighten their caseload and target your child's needs when scheduling! It got so bad that the CSB was angry at them! So, they are not about caring and servicing or scheduling based on a family's needs. They are all about profit! We struggled with this often. There is just very little respect for the families they are supposed to be visiting and supporting. There is so much absence and turnover that it will make your head spin. ****At some point, there is a safety issue with all the different strangers coming due to turnover. The WORST PART IS, they are regulated by the state and the state gives families no real or protected way to report and resolve grievances! read more

We currently use Moms In Motion to facilitate my family member's waiver, because it is required that we have someone to do so, but it has not been an ideal experience. We haven't had a consistent representative other than in the last few months, and when I have reached out in need of their support for issues related to the consumer directed care portion of the waiver, they have not been very helpful, and have felt more like a bureaucratic burden for our family than an actual help. read more

My attendant is going without their pay here at Christmas 2024 because the automation I signed back on October was never submitted. Been on the phone with ppl , Aetna and Mom's in motion the entire week to get this expedited. Everyone has an excuse. Attendant still not getting paid on time after all the phone calls. This is what the facilitators are for. They stress the consumer out because we are reminding them to do their jobs. It's sad they get their pay on time but don't do their job to make sure the attendant is paid. Worst service ever. Haven't seen a hole in over a year. In the past I have had very good service with MOM. As of late service has fallen off. I am unable to get the individuals I need to speak with on the phone and they are not returning my calls. Very disappointed in the new procedure. You have too many people doing the job. Knowone really knows what's going on and it's stressful for the clients. One on one contact is much more affective. Now one person makes an appointment, another does the paperwork and a third comes to the house, just for a signature. It was much better when one person did all. Initially, we had a few bumps in the road. Getting started was not easy. There were times when I felt lost in the, proverbial, sauce being newly transferred to Virginia and having to learn a new set of systems, networks, and processes than what we were used to. We started with Lauren S and Benita A., which went okay. Unfortunately after that communication with MIM became lax and I literally reached out to them in a last-ditch effort to finding another provider. Some how, some way, I connected with Kahlilah J. She was receptive, helpful, and effective in getting things moving in the right direction! Our issues got resolved. Then we were matched with Jeni D and the rest is living history! Moms in Motion (MIM) has been a lifeline and, honestly, a God-send for our family. Not only does our Senior Facilitator, Jeni D., absolutely rock as a provider, she is just an awesomely amazing human. It is hard to separate professional from personal with someone like Jeni. She goes above and beyond to make sure that we have our services in tact, aid and assist us in resolving payee issues, and making sure our child is included in each and every visit. Further than that, her personal touch makes her feel like family. Jeni, does everything from encouraging our child with tips to help with everything from daily living issues, to employment, to personal goals, and beyond! Our MIM provider, Jeni, comes in our home and is respectful of our culture and is an absolute delight! She removes her shoes, covers her cough, and extends her wealth of knowledge, resources, and gifts to the entire family! So, we are thankful for rocky beginnings that have made for smooth roads and blessings for a lifetime through our experiences with Moms in Motion and our SUPER Senior Facilitator Jeni D! read more

Mom's emotion is definitely the worst company ever. I would hate to pull the race card but they definitely have racist ways. They have tried to make the process so stringent and it's honestly not that hard to do. The ONLY reason I found out that she is no longer with Moms in Motion is because I saw her in the grocery store. TERRIBLE customer service. They are absolutely horrible, inept and untrustworthy. They pride themselves as being the largest service facilitator, which allows them to treat their customers disrespectfully and horribly. I'm speaking of the higher ups and not the actual service facilitators. When they make a mistake, they won't admit it; instead, they will place the blame on you. Need more information on new guidelines and help on getting approvals exactly how to do it and time frames on how long approval takes. 5 mins in the home is way too short. The worst facilitator company I have ever encountered. When the new facilitator came on board and did not get demands of days she wanted to do a home visit met because I had health ailments and other family matters going. She (Moms in Motion) went to Medicaid and requested not only from my sons Attendant and respite services to be cut off they also requested for them to be cut off with a backdated cut off . So basically my son services were good through August of 2019 and they went to Medicaid and requested for the services to be cut off backdated to May 2019. Causing his care attendant not to get paid. She basically worked for free and my son was abruptly left without services without Moms in Motion even notifying us. There's a lot of good facilitator companies out there this is not one of them. I would strongly, strongly advise any other parent or Guardian out there with a child with disabilities ( different abilities) to not sign up with this agency. read more

I am very pleased with the services my family member has received through Moms in Motion over the last several years. The company is the largest in the state and I was very surprised that we are not treated as just another client. Their representative visits in the home every month. She is very pleasant and always keeps us up-to-date on program changes. It is a great program in order to let him stay in the home as opposed to going into a nursing home. I would not hesitate to recommend Moms in Motion to families receiving CCC+ services, they are the best out there. read more

We had Moms in Motion for many years. We had an amazing service facilitator who knew so much and went above and beyond the call of duty. When we found out she was leaving after multiple years we were crushed. We were handed over to another coordinator. She was OK but passed us off quickly as we were not in her region. That's when things went downhill. We were handed off to an overworked facilitator who could only see us on her schedule. She was not knowledgeable and we struggled. We reached out to the previous facilitator and got crickets. I had to go to our first facilitator who no longer worked there to get things done. Facilitators are underpaid and overworked so the turnover is high. We were fortunate to find another company but not everyone could do that. I had still recommended MIM as they do have some outstanding service facilitators. But I have been troubled by some of the posts of a higher up at MIM of erroneous information on Facebook. Not fully researching facts and blindly copying and pasting is worrying as this person represents a company not just themselves. I can no longer recommend Moms In Motion to other families comfortably in the Virginia area and will be searching for other organizations and resources. read more

My only concern is that when I get comfortable with the facilitator I get a new one,BUT everyone has been so supportive and given me great updates and helpful information on events and programs that are very helpful to me and for my son. We turned in all paperwork timely, waited and waited, then reached out to MOMs in Motion for the status. Was told by an individual in management (whom would only call me after work hours by the way) that Medicaid was being more diligent in approving services. What they did not know is that I am working with another agency that could look into the system and see what the real issue was. It turns out they never turned in the paperwork timely to request hours for service, if at all. When this information was relayed back to Moms In Motion, with the other agency tagged into the e-mail, then suddenly paperwork was turned in. Now after all is said and done I am now informed by Moms in Motion that because MOMs in Motion did not file the paperwork timely we are being so far denied back pay, though due to no fault and ours and they will try to get someone to call us back and they are not sure what can be done. (?) There has been a total lack of transparency with our case and impossible to get help in solving this within MOMs in Motion themselves. The individual that is being serviced is mentally and physically handicapped, and due to their rapidly declining health had to come live with us as an emergency placement. With that being 24/7 care plus hospitalizations, I had no choice but to end my career and take care of him full time. Even with this explanation to MOMs In Motion, we are still being callously underserved. ( this has been ongoing since May of 2023 and we are now in October 2023. We are told that "this will be forwarded to "higher ups" but they never advise who the "higher ups" are. Looking on the MOMs in Motions website to find names of leadership , only a first name with a last initial are displayed, . When we call customer service to speak or e-mail anyone in leadership, they advise they never heard of the person or give an e-mail address that do not exist. read more

This is the worst place that I would recommend anyone to try to get any service from Moms in Motion. My family was trying to get paperwork finished so that she could get one of us to watch her in the home and they took forever to get the paperwork done but it NEVER got completely done and now she is going to lose her medicaid services. If businesses are going to do these kind of things then you deal with patients and get their paperwork completely done as quickly as possible. Do not take weeks and never get it completely done. We have been with Moms in Motion as our service facilitator for a few years. I have nothing but negative about this company: 1. They have a high turnaround of employees. We hardly see the same providers twice. 2. The directors are rude and unprofessional. One person I allude to is Yolanda Simmons. She is loud, impolite and aggressive. She is very unprofessional on the phone. One example I give: we were assigned a new service facilitator who we have not met (this is our seventh or eighth in 3 years). She contacted me through email and set up a time to meet. Then a few weeks later, she texted me at 11:30 pm to accuse me of not responding to her and scheduling an appointment. When I reminded her that we already have her on the schedule and it was inappropriate of her to contact me at this late at night, she did not apologize. I contacted Yolanda Simmons the next day, her boss, and she said she understood and she would speak with her. Then a few weeks later, that same person showed up at my house even though I had told Yolanda Simmons that I did not feel comfortable with this person. She then called me and addressed me very rudely by my first name and yelled at me for not meeting with this person and she told me 'she had no one else to give us and she would have to discharge us if we do not meet with this facilitator. We have been very unhappy with this company fromt the beginning. When they first started with us, they were negligent in getting the preauthorization for our hours in a timely manner as well and we almsot lost our hours with the insurance company too. read more
