I was extremely pleased with the employees at Pro PT--they were very friendly and chatted with me as we were working.

I've been coming to ABFP for the last year as I felt this was the most awesome family practice in…read morethe area. Enjoyed the staff, enjoyed the nurses, and the PAs. Fast forward to my first encounter with Dr. Byrd - the most unprofessional physician visit I've ever encountered. It was interesting because I agreed to have the intern/student observe the exam as she attempted to accurately diagnose, and it was very disheartening to see Dr. Byrd exhibit this immature behavior in an educational setting. Dr. Byrd did not effectively diagnose, address the issue at hand, nor recognized concerns mentioned based on contradicting business practices. Unfortunately, after several decades of practical experience, Dr. Byrd has some soft skills to further develop, possibly patient/Dr. communication, interoffice communication, empathy, humility, emotional awareness, problem-solving, and demonstrating diplomacy when faced with conflicting medical assessments, etc... And possibly, just maybe - separate personal issues/unconscious bias from patient treatment/care. Her one 'bad day' left her with one less patient/customer. I'll gladly go back to any of the larger practices I've frequented based off of this horrible experience with Dr. Byrd. I hope the other Doctors at ABFP provide her with the tools she needs to grow as a healthcare provider.

The staff seems competent and professional and I've never had a bad experience. They may not be as abundantly welcoming and friendly as other offices I've been in, but I'd attribute that to them simply being busy. However, we absolutely love Jill and would follow her if she ever went to another practice. She's friendly and easy to talk to about your health. You can tell that she is really listening attentively and cares about your well-being. I'm extremely needle-phobic and tend to procrastinate on blood work, and I struggle with weight loss. Even with those issues, Jill is compassionate and never makes you feel bad about any issues you are facing. She gives medical advice without lecturing or belittling, and she's even patient when you come in with internet research to discuss ;-)

Without enough staff, it's hard to make appointments that fits anyone's schedule. With this much help, plus their open hours begins at 7/8am-7p, I am able to efficiently make 2-3 appt schedule weekly and get to finish my therapy session in 1.5 months! So happy 2- the amount of space and the tools that they have is essential for efficient recovery. This place have 5 very long tables to lay on, plus clean sheet with pillows, 5 leg workout machine, 2 bikes, and many exercise balls/dumbbells/ stretch bands , 2 private patient rooms, a lot of space in order for all the 5 PT staff to help 5 patients at a time. 3- we can't forget how important (Riley) front desk secretary is when processing appointments and insurance and politely greeting everyone! She was so easy to get along and always answer the phone quickly. 4- if I get hurt again, I will come back here again and again. They helped me recover my foot injury 2 years ago and now my lower back and UI ARE getting amazing help from Dr.Barber and Student-Chloe. THANK YOU

We came to Winchester for a few months for summer college baseball and I was suffering with a hip…read moreand back issue that had me almost suicidal. My doctor recommended I get some physical therapy so I called PTS. They took me right away and got me on a schedule of twice a week. I expected the usual treatment of being put on a bike and then given bands to stretch with--anything to keep the therapist from touching the patient for longer than 10 minutes. My experience here was anything but that. They employ fascial counterstrain and Dawn Florick began this treatment on me day one, and in fact her hands were never off me. I am happy to report that as we must say goodbye to Winchester, I am 80% better. Prior to coming here I had visited chiropractors, massage therapists and finally an ER in search of relief. The pain was unbearable. Dawn and her husband Scott are fun, professional, and the space is small but effective. You're not struggling for room because ten other people are trying to get treatment. Shannon at the front desk was lovely and efficient and did her best with my out of state insurance issues. In a small town in a state I'd never been to, I never dreamed I'd get this kind of help for an issue I'd lost all hope over. Do not look anyplace else for your PT needs. Dawn and Scott are the best I've ever encountered. They are now located at 2433 Valley Avenue, Suite 103, Winchester, Virginia 22601, United States. Someone may want to update their info on here.
