My family has been coming for a while and we are big fans. Were not from around but we find ourselves dreaming about their sweet treats and sandwiches. I used to come here every week, but no more. The last few visits the people working there have turned me off. I buy 1-2 cookie(s), the person literally puts a cookie in a bag and hands it to me. If you don't leave a tip they give you dirty looks. If you choose one of the options on the screen, which will equal less than a $1, they start making snide and insulting remarks to you for not tipping them more. Nothing here is cheap and then you have your staff begging for tips and trying to shame people. Shame on you!!! read more

I have to say my wife and I were both greatly disappointed by our stop here, which will be the only one we ever make. First of all, the prices of the pies are outrageous. We bought two kinds of apple pies and saw the total hit more than $60. Thirty bucks for an apple pie? Seriously? We drove home and tried the pies. One was terrible, the other was substandard. Neither were worth $30. The Mrs. Smith's frozen pies you get at the grocery store are way better. So are the many apple pies we've purchased at the various farmers' markets in the region. I've always loved the pies, cookies and quiche st Mom's. I used to buy quiche breakfast for my staff when I owned a shop in Leesburg. They used to be open earlier. I learned about the later opening earlier in the year in Leesburg, but hoped it was just at the tiny shop there only. I was just in around Hill and had a hankering for a piece of quiche. Boy was I surprised, as well as two other cars of people, to find that they, too, opened at 11. With their big shop and area to eat I just thought for sure they'd be open. Mom's Apple Pie is a delightful little store selling a variety of home made pies. You can get your pie by the slice, or you can get a full sized pie. The store is also a gift store, selling mugs, toys, and other ceramic goods. There are so many tasty options here for pies, they also have salads, and cookies and brownies, etc. We got a pasta chicken salad. This was delicious, with cherry tomatoes and broccoli. We also got a variety of pies, like apple pie, blueberry crumb pie and cherry pie. They were all so delicious, fresh, and full of the juicy fruit. My favourite was the Blueberry Crumb Pie. This one was extra juicy, so rich in Blueberry, and absolutely dreamy! Yum! There are so many pies I didn't get to try this time, like the banana cream pie, and the coconut one, they will have to wait for the next time I'm in the area. Wow! What a unique and wonderful little spot! The beer, wine and baked goods selection is top notch! Wall to wall offerings of an unbelievable amount of craft beers -- found locally and nation wide. Stouts, sours, IPAs, you name it? They got it. We were blown away by the amount of options to try and so pleased by how helpful everyone was while we browsed the store. There was also wine, liquor and a variety of gifts and artwork for sale. The bakery had cookies, brownies, bars and so so many pies. There were fruit pies, nut pies, chess pies and a whole host of chilled pies. Some of the flavors that stood out to me were: cherry crumb, pumpkin, lemon meringue and chocolate cream. We each bought a four pack of craft beers and a slice of pie. The beers were exceptional -- I suppose that's thanks to the breweries, but it was so fun to try new beers that we wouldn't have found otherwise. The pie slices were delicious. We tried a slice of coconut cream and chocolate cream. Each was fresh and creamy with a nice crispy crust. Neither pie was too sweet and both were large large enough to share. So glad we stumbled upon this place! We will be back soon to try more beer and more pie! read more

Just a few minutes away from bear dens trail, is this shop on the side of the road. I love how they have trinkets that are home made, as well as all of their other goodies. The place smells so good when you walk in, goodness gracious I wish my house could smell so sweet and glorious like this. The pies are amazing, whether you get the entire pie or a slice. I've been to the other locations from occoquan area to leesburg, and now this spot! The consistency of the pies and flavor remains the same, which I love. Stopped here for a samdwich. It was Memorial Day and I was happy it was open. But, boo boo, made to order sandwiches wee not being done. There were some sorry looki sandwiches in the chill case and also homemade brisket. I decided on an espresso based coffee and a piece of blueberry pie. OMG!!! Best Pie EVER! Loved it! This place sucks for lack of a better word, this will be our last time as a customer. I called ahead since we live 30-45 minutes away and my dad's favorite pie is the cherry crumb pie. They had it at the time, but wouldn't hold it even though I offered to pay over the phone or online since we were driving so far away. They said they couldn't, but that they were slow. We raced over there since they had it and then proceeded to tell me they sold out. First time visit to Mom's Apple Pie, & I chose the busiest time of the year to go! It was kinda intense..... I visited the location near Purceville. So Mom's has a lot to offer! Not just pies. They also have sandwiches and side salads, soup, muffins and cookies. They have an awesome variety of alcohol too - wine, beer, ciders, mead(!), dessert wines, IPAs. And there was a cooler with unique ice creams and local meat and sausage. Everything I ate was delicious! The apple pie with the pecan pie type topping was excellent. We also tried to go slices of the sour cherry, almond & lemon chess pies. All were very good. I think Moms pies and food are legit, and very tasty. I gave 4 stars because the customer service was lacking. The purchasing process was a turn off. There were a lot of rules and regulations about purchasing the pies, & no holds, and returning to the line. There was loud yelling from the manager(? Owner?). That wasn't necessary. I know I visited on a busy day, but the ambience should have been festive and fun, like wow, you're a first time visitor, welcome!, and it was not like that at all!! Where were the smiling faces? THE BEST STRAWBERRY RHUBARB PIE....EVER! Dare I say, Mom's strawberry rhubarb pie is better than Grandma's? We grew up on Grandma's pies. Her strawberry rhubarb pie was legendary. This past weekend we bought Mom's strawberry rhubarb pie for an outdoor gathering, and dare I say, it beat out Grandma's! May she R.I.P. Last week we were in the area and wanted a blackberry pie. We went to Mom's thinking this would be the best and purchased a blackberry crumble pie. That night my wife insisted I heat the pie and fetch her some vanilla ice cream. To earn husband points I fetched. I heated the pie and made it a la mode. After a few bites my wife said she thought it was a cherry pie. I thought so as well and after a dissection of the crust, found out it was a cherry pie in a blackberry box (OH NO!!) It was a delicious cherry pie and the crumble is AWESOME. Not to sweet and very crunchy. The next day I called Mom's to let them know. I was concerned that they would do this with other customers. Jesse, the store manager, said come on back and he would give us another pie. I said we lived an hour away and was not sure when that would happen. He said no worries, I will remember you. It so happened that a week later we were back in the area, we love the parks nearby, and stopped by Moms. Jesse remembered me. He said that they moved the racks of pies from the back to the front and were still working out the kinks. He gave me another pie as he promised and I purchased a cookie to go with the free cup of coffee he offered. I was grateful for the cup of joe, which was delicious. My friends had got pies from this place a couple weeks ago and were obsessed with it. Naturally, I had to go back with one of them to see what the fuzz was about. I ordered a slice of the wild blueberry pie and it was only $3.50, and delicious! Full of fruit and not too sweet. The pie crust was a pastry, buttery light texture. The price was super worth it! I think the full pies were going for about $20 something. The girls working there were really sweet, good service. The baked goods are fantastic here and you really cannot go wrong with any of the pies or sweets. Today when I visited my experience was hampered greatly by the chaos of the staff on hand. There were three women working and none of them were efficient and they left all Of the customers standing around asking each other where they should place an order or if they were in the right spot and many people walked out and didn't buy anything because it was so confusing. I ordered chicken salad and it was very good and then I decided to order a soup that was described to me as vegetable but when I got it to the car it was floating in Fat and had bits of meat in it and tasted quite frankly Like it could've been made for days and days and to add insult to injury it had no flavor at all. So after waiting for a really long time inside for food in dealing with the chaotic atmosphere so I just threw my food away and decided to not even ask for a refund. I would suggest that the management come up with a rope line Q for people stand to place orders for whatever they want And then they can pay for their items and move over to a holding area so that everybody understands exactly what is expected of them and furthermore if you aren't able to handle simple food orders you should probably not offer custom sandwiches and you must certainly should not be making soup the taste so bad.
