We have eaten here numerous times over the year when visiting relatives and had good food and service. This past visit was so very disappointing. Philly "cheese"steak was missing a key ingredient, cheese. The "crispy" fries were most definitely NOT CRISPY and not hot. My wife's ham & "cheese" was VERY cheese spare. The server had to look through the sandwich to locate cheese. The McDonald's next door would have been a far better choice. With the cost of dining rising, folks should be aware of poor quality. Antipasto salad was nothing special and the pizza quality was just par. Nothing to really get excited about after reading several more favorable reviews here on the site. Hands down some of the best customer service I've experienced in a while. We were traveling through from Indiana and they went out of their way to take care of us. We really enjoyed their pizza, the crust was on point and was piping hot. They had both thinner crust as well as deep dish. I wish I lived nearby as this would be my Friday night pizza stop. We didn't try anything other than the pizza so I can't say how the rest of their food is. If you are thinking about stopping in, go for it and support this locally owned business! read more

I'm a city boy from Chicago and have eaten loads of pizza so I know what I like. Out here in and around Harrison, MI there are a whole lot of chain eatery pizza joints. A lot of folks like Lil' Caesar's, Domino's and the like. When searching reviews, I couldn't find much in the detail of what sorts of pizza were available here. IE Thick, thin, deep, square, etc. So, I referred to word-of-mouth. Two names came up Momma Cillie's and Mr Vetoes Pizza. Both different in their own regard and should be tried. Inside the atmosphere is cozy. Made up like a warmly lit cottage. Dark woods and ample space for many to dine. Tasty smells emanating from the kitchen were a good sign. I called in an order, the order-taker gave me general information. I couldn't find a menu online or via any Facebook accounts, so I ordered something general and easy. A large pizza with sausage, green peppers and onions. Forgot to request extra sauce like I usually do. I had asked if they offered their own specialty creations, which they did but it didn't seem the phone person wanted to run through all the different varieties with me. They had thrown out something with 3 meats and a few too less veggies. But when trying a pizza for the first time, I always find it important to try it with as few ingredients as possible. 20 minutes later and we were on scene to pick-up. Pizza was hot and ready and looked inviting. The sauce amount was nil so I requested a side of "pizza sauce" or their house marinara. I was given a melting to-go portion of their sauce. It looked as though it had been previously frozen. A detail they mentioned about their pizza, is that the dough is brushed with a mixture of butter and garlic. The pizza was like a thick pan pizza. Like Pilsbury dough. The dough was cooked evenly and soft when bit into. (For a different taste, ask if they could do it "well done". I would imagine the crust being crisper in that case) Although sauce was very low in quantity, it was a tasty pie. Thank goodness for scoring the pizza sauce. Many of us chose to dip portions of our slices in that goodness. Would have been nice if it were warm and we had an additional serving. The size of a large pie was alike a Medium anywhere I frequent back home. Pricing was affordable and quality far above any chain pizza businesses. (A little less than $20 dollars for that pie) Kids and adults dug the flavors. The pizza was gone pretty quickly. If feeding a group of 5+, definitely inquire about larger sizes or ordering an additional. (Again, this is where it is important for a business to have marketing on the web. A facebook account with recent menu or a link to a menu through a third party restaurant site. ) Something to note: I give it 5 stars based on my visit, the quality and tastes. Again, compared against chain pizza offerings, it's quite stellar. The nearest city is hours away and in a jiffy, this is some great stuff. read more

I was willing to give this place a second chance, however, I was disappointed once again for the delayed service. Also, when our food did arrive after waiting for nearly an hour, the waitress realized we were missing items that came with our order- she promptly went to retrieve them, and then never returned. Not even to give us the bill. We explained our dilemma to the nice young lady at the front counter and she was able to charge us for our food. I've been here twice now. The first time my meat and bean burrito was great - although I think it's strange to have to pay extra to get salsa and sour cream. The second time I had a meatball sub. The meatballs tasted great - and so did the cheese and sauce - but the bun was a fail. Although it was fresh, it wasn't toasted nearly enough (if at all?). It was very doughy and chewy. The service was great both times. I'll stop in again. Maybe I'll ask for toasted bun next time.... The fountain pop was great - they have a good mix. My partner had the salad bar and liked it. Stopped in on our way home from an up north vacation and so glad we did! Delicious pizza ready to eat from the buffet plus salad bar and only $6.95 for lunch! The waitress was very friendly and had pizza made for the buffet based on our request. As a family of four, finding a non-fast food lunch for under $40 is a find. The food is usually really good. The only complaint I have is that they need to drain the water off their salads. I always have to take the antipasto salad apart and spin it in my salad spinner. I wish they would use one. read more

Great pizza, salad and soup bar. On the pizza bar they usually have cinnamon sugared bread sticks that are Great. Servers always pleasant and on task. Also had Lasagna, plan to take some home unless you are hungry!! read more

Surprised this place is still in business. I ordered a meal last weekend was told 15-20 minutes, I ended up waiting 40 minutes. Over all food was decent. This weekend I tried ordering a similar meal I asked for multiple pasta dishes was told they didn't have any items like that. Basically a bunch of children working there who care more about them selves and their friends and not the customers trying to purchase a simple meal from them. read more

Like another reviewer we were also from Chicago and visiting the area this week. Craving pizza & not sure where to go, we were vacillating between the known, Little Caesar's (not a fan & we are from Chicago after all; home of thin crust & great deep dish pizza) & the unknown Momma Cillie's. We definitely made the right choice. Momma Cillie's pizza was excellent with the perfect amount of sauce, cheese & toppings along with a crust brushed with garlic butter at a very affordable cost. The garlic cheese bread "pizza" (no pizza sauce) was superb & if they'd been open when we left Harrison we would have taken two to go. Our family is going to be craving that for a long time. The pizza is more along the lines crust-wise of Little Caesar's/Dominos only much better. The woman taking our order was also super nice, helpful & knowledgeable about the area & made us feel very welcome. No online menu but if you're in the area stop in & try it. Excellent! read more
