Robin was a trooper in managing Kali while we were gone. She sent us regular texts and a photo, which helped us stay involved with Kali. I understand her Peaceable Pets Animal Care business has a variety of services, including dog daycare and boarding, petsitting, and dog walking. She has been in business since 2004! I highly recommend her. The rates are reasonable and competitive. Robin of Peaceable Pets did a great job caring for our cat Kali recently. This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding…read more I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. They are the absolute best.

There is one female (don't know the name) that always sounds so annoyed when she picks up the phone...like the caller is inconveniencing her...and it made me not want to go back, but Dr Hitzeman was good so I did (mistake!) Second visit Dr Thomas Hitzeman was in surgery, so I got Dr Robert Hargarten. I have never had such an awful, uncompassionate, rude vet experience in all my life! I had a cat with me. Dr Robert Hargarten walked in with 2 big dogs...didn't say who he was or who these dogs were...didn't care if I am scared of dogs (I was attacked by a German shepherd so bad that it sent me to the ER after it tore up and scarred my arm for life)...doesn't care that my cat was now more terrified in that exam room...HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked for another vet, but he was the only option. He then proceeded TO PULL MY CAT OUT OF THE CRATE BY HER TAIL! Who would do that??? He later grabbed her by the scruff on her neck and jabbed a needle into her. She fell back into the crate, was wobbly, and cowered from me for the first time. I asked what he gave her and he said it was just an antibiotic. I asked why she was acting wobbly and hurt, and he said it stings. I again pressed on that she was now acting really strange and he said the shot wouldn't do that. When I got home, my cat was wobbly, limping, and personality had changed. Well it is 3 days later and I STILL have a limping, hurt cat. I am so sad and angry at myself that I didn't do better homework before coming here. Brought my cat in friendly, sweet, purring, and walking fine, but came back out with a cat that is limping and shows s/s of pain. Please don't make the same mistake I did - go elsewhere!

I've had them both in her agility classes following their training and they both had a lot of fun. The best part is that in her class if your dog acts up, everyone treats it like a learning experience and is totally respectful instead of making you feel like you've got the bad dog. I've tried other trainers in the past, and most of them are good at basic obedience, but I've never had anyone who is ACTUALLY able to correct and improve behavioral issues, and in fact, some of them have made them worse. Heather has always been completely honest in her assessments of my dogs and will honestly tell me if she thinks there is a limit to what she can do, unlike other trainers who will tell you they can fix every behavior. She is also very honest about the work I will need to put in to make sure they continue to behave after she's worked with them. I don't trust anyone else to care for my dogs when I have to board them. I know they will get attention, exercise, and be safely cared for while they are at BFA.
