I would give Bronson Veterinary Services a 10-star rating if possible. They saved our 11-year old…read moredog (Nyko) twice in the last 6 months. The first was a huge abscess on his chest that actually came up very quickly and was causing him difficulty breathing. We ran him over and they treated him immediately, installing a drain tube and meds. About a month ago he was again having problems with his breathing and we noticed his chest area was bloated. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and his chest was drained and 3 new meds. He is doing great now, playing like before. Dr. Bronson and Dr. Laird and the entire staff are fantastic. We have our member of the family around for a few more years.

We had heard good things about Bronson Vet and decided to make the drive (a little farther away from us). We are glad we did and our first experience here was wonderful. We had our 10 year old lab's teeth cleaned and a checkup and we appreciated the clean, nice smelling facility. The staff was courteous, professional and Dr. Bronson came out and explained the procedure and the communication and pricing were very upfront. They did a fantastic job and our lab has great breath and his teeth look great! Very happy with the whole experience. Will definitely be making Bronson Vet our regular vet for our dog. Highly recommend it!

We had been searching for another aussie when we spotted Clementine (formerly Calida) on Petfinder…read more She was heartworm positive and it said she had been found on the side of the road and was an absolute mess. We love a good mess at our house, so we knew we had to have her. Renee (the director of the Hillsdale Humane Society) was great. They do not answer their phones (my guess is staffing and volunteers are not plentiful), but when they do pick up, they are more than willing to share all the information they have. Renee told me all about Clem, her sweet personality and even offered to bring her with on Saturday to their adoption event so we could meet her. We agreed. We drove to Hillsdale on Saturday and had our other aussie, Wilhelmina, meet Clementine and we spoke to Renee a little more. Clementine still had one more heartworm treatment on the following Tuesday, so we arranged to pick Clem up on Wednesday afternoon. The application to adopt was a simple two page form, the fee is a straight forward $150 and is completely refundable for 14 days if anything goes wrong. Renee said on the rare chance dogs do get into their new homes and people find personalities don't mesh well, she would rather have people bring the animal back to Hillsdale for a full refund. We left confident that Renee would take good care of Clem until Wednesday and headed back home. On Wednesday we drove back down to Osseo and Clementine was ready to go. The whole process was unbelievably easy and the humane society building itself (we only went into the lobby) was very small, but there was a lovely fenced in outdoor yard and it was very clean. We would adopt from Hillsdale again without hesitation. **We did have Clementine checked out by our own vet on Friday and did discover that she has some fairly serious (and expensive) medical problems that need to be addressed before she can live a normal healthy life. As Clem is a part of our family, we are going to get her the treatment she needs so she can live a healthy and happy life. She is undergoing treatment for serious ear infections and skin infections and then once her heartworm treatment is over she will have surgery. We know she saw a vet multiple times while she was at the humane society and we fully believe her medical issues were overlooked by either an inexperienced or lazy veterinarian. The people at Hillsdale Humane Society are not veterinarians, they are kind people who are doing their very best to help as many animals as possible, so Clem's ignorned medical problems are the fault of the vet who treated her in Hillsdale.**

Additionally, MV Pets is one of the only pet stores nearby that actually takes good care of their fish. Whenever I buy from them I know that my fish have been quarantined and medicated, held in the back room for several weeks before they're deemed healthy to sell. Other aquarium decor such as driftwood and rocks are very reasonably priced. They're the only store I buy both from because everywhere else wants you to pay up the wazoo for a piece of wood. Overall, I always have a great experience here and I can tell the employees are passionate about their jobs!

We gotten several things for our dogs here in years past and been happy with the price and service…read more- they are especially fond of the travel tent we purchased here on clearance sale many years ago, which has held up really well. We recently treated ourselves to a small aquaponics setup from Back to the Roots, so we were in the market for a betta fish for the set up. A friend of mine had mentioned that this store had much better bettas than the big box shops, but we had a $3 coupon toward the fish from Petco so I went there first. The fish at Petco were twice to three times more expensive than MVPets and were much smaller and radically less vibrant than the ones here. Their selection was also much smaller. I immediately walked out the door at Petco and zoomed over to and MVPets. I was able to purchase my fish, rocks for the bottom of the tank, and a large piece of rock/fake plant for my fish to hide in (which he loves). MVPets has quite a few large aquariums full of fish in the main room, and then they also have a secondary room that is floor to ceiling small tanks. The selection of coral, anemone, and fish is incredible. I named my betta sushi, which was what my friend's daughter named her first fish when she was about 2 years old. She was pretty young and couldn't annunciate super well at the time, so it came out shoo-she, and I was "aunt Befff". Love that kid! And so far I'm really loving my fish, too PS: If you buy a betta, make sure you talk to the staff about how to keep your water at the appropriate temperature. They definitely like it hot, and we keep our house pretty cold, so I had to also purchase an inexpensive, small tank heater. They staff seems quite knowledgeable and eager to help.

Where Do I begin. Our cat stopped eating some time after Christmas, we took him to Tri State…read moreshortly there after. The first bill was a bit salty (about 150), but the shot they gave him worked and he seemed to be on a fast track to recovery. However, he eventually fell ill again. My husband and I figured it was due to his age, he was elderly (15), and as much as we loved him, we feared his biological clock was starting to slow down. We took him back to the Clinic where the vet insisted on running x-rays, blood work and then giving him liver vitamins, all of which came out to over 300$. Again, due to my overwhelming stupidity, I believed this vet cared for my pet and we coughed up the cash. We went back for a follow up appointment where, once again, the bill was well over 300$. At that point, our cat had gone from 15 lbs to about 7 and was miserable, emaciated and starving due to an inability to defecate, eat or drink. For all the money we were spending, we were receiving more shrugs and "I don't knows" than we were answers. At this point, we were in debt to our bank and had to take out multiple payday loans in order to straighten out our finances, catch up on our utilities, pay our internet which had been shut off due to an overdue bill, and pay any other late fees attached to our rent. We are just now recovering from what this hack DIDN'T do. I would've been fine had he been honest and told us that our cat was simply old. But instead, he took advantage of our love for a our pet and squeezed us dry, all the while our poor cat was unable to walk, eat, stand or even drink without being in pain. The Kicker to all of this? We still had to have our pet Euthanized. We ended up having to go to the Clinic in town (Kendallville Pet Clinic) who only charged 150 for the entire service, including the cremation. But what angers me the most, is due to all the frivolous bullshit Tri State put us through, we had NO MONEY to put our cat down. So we had to wait until the next pay period, which meant having to watch our cat waste away to nothing. He was barely over 6lbs before he died. He couldn't defecate, and would yowl in pain every time he tried. I will take partial responsibility for it, as I should have been smart enough to see what Tri State was pulling. If they had been honest and said that he was reaching the end of his rope and to just keep him comfortable and happy, I could have respected that. Instead, they took advantage of us when we were vulnerable, lied to our face, pumped our cat full of medication that I'm sure only made things worse, and then had the audacity to say they wanted to perform a liver biopsy on top of all they charged us for. (We had caught on at that point and said no). Not to mention their rude nurses, one of which physically became rough with our pet when he wouldn't hold still to have his weight checked. I find it funny how their Facebook only has positive comments for 5 and 4 star reviews, but anything lower is a simple rating and nothing else. I also find it impossible that these crooks have no negative feedback on Facebook when Yelp and other Sites have nothing BUT negative reviews. If you're in the Kendalville area, don't go here. Go to the in town Clinic or the one in Albion. Both are far more loving and professional. The Kendallville Pet Clinic even sent us a card of condolence following the death of our cat and were willing to work with us due to our financial situation. Don't listen to any Facebook posts about this clinic, I'm sure people who are well off had a great time at TriState, since they have the money to blow, but those of us who are on a budget aren't welcomed. I've since met other people, a few of which Me and my husband work with, who have complained about this clinic. One dropped his dog off and went back in the morning to retrieve it, only to find it dead. The Clinic never bothered to call him when it died and left it to fester in it's cage. I know this review as been a little long, but this kind of bullshit can't be spelled out in a simple paragraph. DO NOT GO HERE.

The only real question he asked my husband was can you afford this...can you afford that? After $150 he ran tests that the pup had no signs or symptoms for. He gave him a shot of cortisone. 1 hour after my husband got home the puppy was much worse. I called their office and was told that we could bring him back for another $180. We took our puppy to another vet who in 20 minutes told us that he was in complete renal failure. The shot actually made him worse. I thought about fighting them in court due to the principle of the issue. However I have decided to just file a formal complaint with the board of health! This man does not care about your pets. He cares about his finance. He should have been a stock broker if all that he cares about is money.

They took care of my baby even though I couldn't go back with her, which made her super scared and anxious. I was expecting a big... She said it may need some "tweaking" afterwards if enough wasn't removed but she would rather do that than take off too much skin. The cost was about $2000. When I called her to ask that she perform a revision, she refused to help me in any way, was extremely rude, said I was untrustworthy, and refused to refund my money. I've never encountered anything like this. I'm just out of $2000 and will now have to come up with more money to take him elsewhere. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone!!! She is the one that is untrustworthy, extremely unprofessional and is obviously out to take people's money.
