Last year he performed surgery on our bulldog's hematoma (surgery for Bulldogs are always dangerous because of their normal airway restrictions), but he and his wife, the surgical manage, took great care of Truman. Their repair was as good as a certified plastic surgeons! You can't even tell they operated on him when you look at him. This saved his ear and Truman's self esteem! The reasoning behind why I started going to this vet is that, as a broke college student who had just bought an ESA puppy, I could not afford to start him at a new clinic with new patient fees, so I kept him at the same vet his last owners had him with, even with a 20 minute drive. MY REVIEW IS LONG, SO I BROKE IT UP IN CASE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SPECIFIC. CLINIC: When I first started coming here I was nervous, as the clinic looks expensive. It's incredibly clean, welcoming, smells nice (believe it or not!), and has nice painted walls, cute benches, hardwood floors, and along with the usual products that vets would be advertising, they also carry a few handmade wares for pets. SERVICE: Besides showering my Shepsky in love, affection, enthusiasm, and treats throughout our appointment, they are enthusiastic to address my concerns and make us feel welcome. Most recently, I called them because there was something wrong with my dog's eye, and knowing that it could be concerning, they were able to squeeze me in for the very first appointment the next morning at 8am. PRICE: Knowing I'm a broke college student, they only do what they have to do so I don't pay for unnecessary expense, and they give my dog donated meds whenever possible. When I told them I hadn't been giving my dog flea medicine or heart medicine due to my low income, they were understanding, and told me to check back in for donations. They also recently won negotiations to sell pet meds at the same price as Chewy and 1-800-pet meds. A solid one-stop ship. And they take care credit!!!

Our dog, Tyson, needed bilateral TPLO surgeries, and as young, first-time dog owners, we were nervous and had no idea what to expect. Dr. Baker took the time to guide us through every step of the process, answered all of our questions, and made us feel confident in the decisions we were making for Tyson. Both surgeries went extremely well, and Tyson recovered remarkably quickly. He was already toe-touching just three days after each surgery, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We are so grateful we were referred to Dr. Baker. His knowledge, skill, and genuine care for his patients gave us complete confidence that Tyson was in the best hands possible. For the most part, the entire staff was kind, friendly, and incredibly supportive. While Dr. Baker was exceptional, we also want to thank Benita, Justin, Katelyn, Kim, and everyone else who helped care for Tyson before, during, and after both surgeries. Their kindness, compassion, and patience meant so much to us as we learned how to care for Tyson throughout his recovery. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of one experience we had with Alicia while discussing the CareCredit financing promotion for Tyson's second surgery. For Tyson's first surgery, the clinic processed our CareCredit purchase using the 12-month promotional financing option, and everything went smoothly. However, when it came time for his second surgery, Alicia told us they would only process it under the 6-month promotional financing option. Our disappointment wasn't with the financing itself--it was with how the conversation was handled. We felt dismissed rather than helped. Alicia was unprofessional in the way she spoke to us and even raised her voice at her coworker, Kim, in front of us while Kim was simply trying to assist. It made for a very uncomfortable experience. We weren't asking for anything different than what had already been done for Tyson's first surgery--we were simply hoping to use the same 12-month CareCredit promotional financing. After Alicia spoke with the owner, the clinic agreed to process it using the 12-month promotional option after all. We appreciated that the issue was ultimately resolved, but we never received an apology for how the interaction was handled. That experience was disappointing, especially from someone in a management position, because customer service and the way clients are treated matter just as much as the excellent medical care they provide. That said, one negative interaction does not overshadow the outstanding care Tyson received from Dr. Baker and the rest of the team. We are incredibly thankful for everything they did for him, and we would absolutely recommend Gobles Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for excellent veterinary care. I called they were great on the phone said that I could just pick it up and I didn't need to make an appointment because they had been seen within the year. All is great. Until I stop in to pick up the meds and im told it is a total of $330.00 (165.00 each) When I asked why the receptionist was rude and told me she doesn't make the price. I told her I don't understand that I went to their website and the online store has the same thing for 86.00 each for 6 months. She said it's a third party and there is nothing I can do. Then she shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes. And got attitude when I said I didn't want it. There was no acknowledgement or understanding of the client perspective. I ordered off line paid a little extra for overnight delivery and still saved $130.00. I acknowledge that the receptionist has no control over the price. However she does have control over her rude and unprofessional behavior. It is extremely disappointing that a local business would have such a huge price discrepancy and allow this type of behavior from their employees. I will not be returning to VCA Richland Animal Hospital ever again! I have been bringing my…read moreanimals to this clinic since I moved to Richland 35 years ago, but since the hospital was sold to the conglomerate MARS corporation the place has really gone down hill! The staff is a revolving door and Dr. Haley McCall I assume is a recent graduate of vet school and lacks experience. She also is very "WOKE" and a fool in my opinion. Two weeks ago I brought my 9 year old lab mix for a routine check-up, Lepto vaccine and Heartworm Test. Dr. McCall was unable to get the blood necessary for the Heartworm test, so she prescribed heavy duty drugs and asked me to return. I have a family member who has worked in Vet medicine for over 30 years, has managed the small animal ICU at MSU and now does the same at Iowa State University. She disagreed with Dr. McCall's prescribing all the medications just to "calm" down the animal and instructed me a bit differently. When I returned to VCA Animal hospital with my husband in tow to hold the animal while the blood was being drawn. The technician, also unable to get the blood because the animal was twitchy, went to get Dr. McCall. Dr. McCall questioned me asking if I had not understood her instructions. When I explained that I had gotten a 2nd opinion regarding the drugs, she stated that my dog was "Scared", and that is the reason she had prescribed as she did. I stated to her that every dog I had ever brought through the door in the past 35 years was "Scared"! Dogs are nervous (Scared) at the vet, that is almost a universal thing. As I did not comply with Dr. McCall's drugging of my animal, she refused to attempt to draw the necessary blood and we left the practice. I will also add that now that VCA Richland is owned by a corporation their prices have skyrocketed and are outrageous! Do yourself a favor, Go Some Place Else!!
