I have been to many liquor stores in the Denver metropolitan area and most of them are on the average side which makes sense given how a bell curve or normal distribution works but Molly's Spirits was definitely at least a standard deviation above the rest (for non-math folks, that means that they are above average). First off, the store is HUGE. I find it hard to believe that you will not find what you are looking for there. They seriously seem to have EVERYTHING! I was also pleasantly surprised with how helpful and nice all the staff were during my visit. Because of the size of the store, I was having some difficulty finding exactly what I was looking for but a member of staff kindly guided me. The cashier was also super nice and let me know about upcoming events and deals to look out for. I definitely will be coming back and want to check out their wine tasting and cocktail events. My husband and I visited the store this morning and checked out at 11:00 AM. This is the third time an older gentleman has followed us around the store. Today, we also noticed that the lady at the checkout was watching us closely while we browsed the items near the register. I initially dismissed the first two occurrences as simple attentiveness, but experiencing this for a third time indicates a pattern. We are honest, professional people and do not deserve to be treated like criminals. Around this liquor store is a lot of sad shops, but this place, this place is a beacon of hope of what could be a fun shopping area if people started being good at it. The whole place has this whole modern western style to it. They even have this wild face scuplture outside. Inside is darker browns and such, but probably helps to male the liquor look good, cause all of these bad boys made my mouth water. I'm sure the store is fine, but my review is regarding delivery service. I ordered alcohol from this place via a third party app. I waited for it up until an hour after the promised delivery time. The whole time that I was waiting it was just pending. I finally called the store to follow up and the person who answered the phone states that they could not see the address on file so they couldn't process the delivery - but then I double checked, I put in the address correctly... so what happened? Anyway, I contacted the third-party to get my refund and as they were looking into it they said that the STORE was the one who didn't follow through. Social distancing might be getting the best of us, but you bet your bottom dollar it's not getting in the way of my booze! Insert Molly's Spirits in Lakeside. One of the premier booze outlets in all of Denver. I decided to place an order online for myself. I've navigated their website once or twice in the past, however I've never gone through with an online purchase. Because frankly, I love browsing at my local liquor store! Molly's has a MASSIVE selection with great customer service. They were out of one of the bourbons I had in my original cart. So, they gave me a call and asked if there were any other bourbons I'd be interested in. No harm, no foul. We ended up replacing with ease. With social distancing in full effect, they took extra precautions with allowing only a set amount of folks inside the store. And I even saw an employee wiping down the carts with disinfectant wipes. Kudos! The haul, you ask? Well since I am trying to support local businesses as much as humanly possible (not that I don't usually, but you catch my drift) I purchased the following: Mythology Distillery Needle Pig Gin, State 38 Distilling Reposado, and Leopold Brothers Small Batch Whiskey. Plus a few bar essentials like bitters and club sodas. If you can't tell, I'm a huge fan of Molly's. Their customer service really sets them apart from the big box stores. I'm a scotch and japanese whisky fan, and when I first checked out Molly's a year ago, I was in heaven! Huge store with a massive selection, and AT THE TIME, totally fair and reasonable prices. Unfortunately, it seems like Molly's has raised prices significantly recently, moreso than just inflation. As some examples: Johnnie Walker Black Label (750 ml) - $45 (it's $35 at Total Wine) Hakushu 12 and Yamazaki 12 - $200 (I had bought Hakushu 12 3 months prior for $140 elsewhere, though I'll accept that prices have gone up). The most egregious pricing I saw was "Nikka Yoichi" and "Nikka Miyagyiko" for $285!! I bought these for $95 and $85 at Total wine, respectively. I quite honestly think this might be a labeling mistake, so willing to forgive this one if they fix it. They're labeled as "discovery edition", but the label on the bottle gave no sign that they weren't just a standard release, and I even asked the staff who wasn't sure what was unique about this release. So...decent selection, unfortunately has become overpriced. You're much better off at Total Wine or Argonaut as far as Scotch / japanese goes. read more

Have been a loyal customer at Molly's for a while now. I purchased a 6 pack of a hazy pale ale on Friday. Me and my boyfriend each opened a beer Friday night after a long week to find they were totally skunked - flat, terrible taste, and completely undrinkable. We thought oh well, things happen! We went back today after reviewing Molly's damaged/defective return policy hoping to exchange for a couple new 6 packs. The checkout cashier had us ring up the 2 new 6 packs we had selected while she got the manager to approve the return. He would not allow any store credit to be given as 2 beers had been opened - what?! How do you determine if a beer is "flat" thus deeming it defective/damaged per their policy online if you don't open at least 1 can? Very disappointing experience and will be taking my business to another local liquor store from now on. read more

One thing that's different to a nonnative resident like me is the way Colorado controls their liquor sales. They are a fan of family owned liquor establishments, which stems some of the largest I've seen in my life. It also keeps corporate ones under control and promotes small businesses. Molly's is one such example. They have everything one might need to drown their sorrows with or host one hell of a party! Coming here will not only provide you with several aisles of spirit, wine or beer choices, but also enough steps to get you in shape. We came here for annual Whiskey/Bourbon auction, where you can bid on rare bottles. I mean, $1,200 a bottle rare. It was super fun and Molly's donated part of its proceeds back to local community charities. Very notable and honorable. I LOVE Molly's. Despite the fact that grocery stores now have full percent beer, I still plan to make the trip to this Liquor store. If you plan to come more than once, I recommend signing up for the free reward program. Yes, I said FREE! After so much money spent you will get money off a future purchase. $10 off sounds pretty good right now. They have a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor. The staff is very knowledgeable as well. Anytime I'm walking around I'm greeted with "can I help you find anything?". Much appreciated, because the store is big and sometimes you just want to try something new. Variety is the spice of life. I used to go to Molly's after going to the gym, as it was next door, if I wanted something. I am a 67 year old woman. I went to Molly's to get a few things, as we just got back from a trip. I took a bag in, bought a bottle of vodka, bottle of wine, a four pack of mini wines, and 4 shooters. I had to put some items in the bag before I got to the register, as I didn't take a buggy. As I left the store, a man was outside, and said something about shooters. I said, yeah I got shooters. Then thought I shouldn't have said anything. He started following me to my car. I was afraid some, that I would be attacked. He started taking pictures of me and my car. I followed him back to the store, and tried to get an employee there to help me from this guy harassing me. Found out he worked there, and thought I stole some shooters. I showed him I paid for all my purchases, and he said I put them in my pocket. I waited for the cops, because i knew I was innocent. I also told him to check his cameras. Amazing how an innocent person, would be stopped for $4=$8 in merchandise, thought to be stolen, when so many people steal hundreds of dollars of merchandise, and nothing happens. I have found my mothership. This place is amazing. *They carry everything. *It is always well staffed. I have never waited long in a line to check out. There are always knowledgeable employees hanging out near the beer coolers to answer all my dumb questions & recommend great beers. *They always have plenty of 1/6 barrel kegs to keep my kegerator full. They do a CO2 bottle exchange, so when I run out, I can just swap the whole bottle for a full one. *And, they regularly do fun promotions with booze makers/distributors. All the staples but not a lot of gimmicky stuff like some other stores. Definitely a staple for throwing a party. My first visit to Molly's was last Friday when a neighbor and I decided to check it out. There's a wide variety of wines, liquor and beer, however, I found their prices to be higher than the place I usually shop. I believe their prices are lower than your local liquor store. Since I was able to use the Yelp $5 check-in coupon, I decided to purchase a few items. The store is laid out well and the cashier was very friendly and suggested that I sign up for their rewards program. This place is great if you shop in person. They're dog friendly and have a large selection of beer and liquor. However, DO NOT use their delivery service as you probably won't get what you ordered. I made a ~$60 purchase a few nights ago through the Drizly app and never received my order. They stated they "scanned" my ID but my ID doesn't "scan." Furthermore, I live in Lakewood, not in Denver where the order was delivered to. I'll be filing a dispute with the Better Business Bureau and with my bank as well. I am a regular customer at Molly's and this review is written during the pandemic which is the reason for only 3 stars. I shopped there this past Sat. Afternoon and was appalled and anxious about how many people they let in the store. It was way too crowded. Their website says they only let people in 10 at a time. I don't know the current regs. For liquor stores but this felt very crowded and we got out as quickly as we good. People were wearing masks but the aisles were crowded and not enough distancing. Note: Molly's has already responded to me and said that they agree and will do better. They also offer curbside and delivery. I'm sure I will upgrade this review soon. read more

Every single team member says hello and when you ask for help be ready to be treated to people who go above and beyond providing suggestions if asked and in depth explanations of the product line your looking for helping you make some great buys and finds. Oh if it's a holiday and they have 50 people in line do t worry. They are always fully staffed and I was thru the line in 8 min. Ask to go into the beer refrigerator to some outstanding beers that top the over 1000 choices of beer ok maybe 800 but if you want it thy have it or they will get it in any liquor product. I have spent several thousands of dollars at this Molly's since it opened. I drink a lot and have lots of parties. Life is short! I spend upwards of $500 a month on liquor for my household. I am a veteran, and didn't know about the "veteran's discount" until a month or so ago. My bad for being a dumbass and not asking. Lesson learned. That would've been a few grand over the years. Easily. Now, could they ask customers if they are vets or want any other discounts, as Lowe's does? Yes they could. Do they? NO. When I discovered the vet's discount and asked for it the first time, the cashier said "oh, too late, I already rung it up." Yes, I should have made her ring it up again or walked out. But I didn't, being the polite guy I am. So I take half the blame for that one. Next time... Next time, asked for the discount UP FRONT, only to find you don't get the discount on the TOTAL amount spent, LIKE EVERY OTHER VETERAN'S DISCOUNT in the world. If something is "marked down" after being inflated-marked-up, you don't get the discount. I call bullshit. No one else does that. Pretty much every decent wine in the place is "marked down." And finally... I have a person who runs errands for me and I often send her to this Molly's. She states she's buying for me, a veteran, and gets the discount. Well, she DID... Guess what? Today they told her that since she is not a veteran, no discount. Even though she is buying for me. Nice one Molly's. Again I call bullshit. Thank me for my service? Not so much. Bye bye Molly's. When you walk in, you're immediately hit with a, "I'm making a list and trying every one of these!" I don't drink alcohol and think this place rocks. Great layout that is organized very well. It seems like they have every kind of liquor you can imagine with a very helpful/knowledgeable staff. They move things along at the registers. My wife grabs wine once in a while and they always have some very cool brands to try from various countries. They've always had what we couldn't find at other liquor stores. I have liked shopping at Molly's until I discovered they are charging $.10 for boxes under the guise of the Colorado bag law. I have confirmed with Denver 311 that the bag law does not apply to boxes. The manager claimed that their attorney advised them to do so. He also claimed that the money goes to Denver and not the store and that Costco charges for boxes. Neither Costco nor Costco liquor charges for boxes. They have a sign indicating they charge $.10 for boxes but I wonder if that really gets sent to the city. If you buy 12 bottles of wine, adding $.10 to a few hundred dollars seems a bit petty especially when you are basically recycling the box for them. read more

Molly's is a really great liquor store. Probably one of the best, if not the best, liquor store in Denver. It is well-organized and logically laid out. It's easy to find what you're looking for - and even easier to find a bunch of goodies and treats that you aren't looking for, but treat yo'self, you know? They have an excellent beer section with a bunch of rare beers that you don't usually find elsewhere. Also, they have beer, wine, and spirits mailing lists, so you can find out about deals and special offers on the stuff you like. I have found Molly's prices to be very fair and reasonable. They will often have sales and deals on some pretty expensive items (single malt scotches, aged bourbons, imported wines and beers), which makes them an even better deal. If you join their club, it's an even better deal! Deals galore! The staff is nice and knowledgeable. Every time I shop here with my kid in tow, they offer her a lollipop or a sticker at checkout. So now my five year old keeps asking when we will go to Molly's Spirits, which is a little awkward, but whatever. read more
