Called and asked them numerous questions on numerous occasions for about six hours lol and finally decided to rent a golf cart for a couple of days. My mom and me were having such a great time in the golf cart that we rented it for four days! Jesse, the owner is just the nicest man! He went above and beyond and even told us where to safely keep our car parked for the four days since the RV park we were staying at wanted to charge us $20 a day for her car! I've tried three different companies in total and have been most happy with Island Rentals and the Yamahas they rent out. Important note on rentals, you have to be at least 25. Their golf carts are gas powered and go a good speed, keeping in mind the speed limit is 15mph on the roads for them. They give you a very detailed map that is so helpful of exactly where you should be going. The entire path takes about an hour but you can pull off & sight see along the way. There are gorgeous views and terrain along the path! Island Rentals is nice because it's so darn close to the boat terminal so doesn't require a trek to rent. No reservations here - first come, first served and I have seen them 'sell' out in peak times. $70 for 1 hour hour and a $60 deposit for a second hour, you MUST bring cash and it's a two hour maximum. I'm headed back to Catalina Island next month and am SO excited to use Island Rentals again! A repeat customer is the best sign of a place being stellar.
