I went through Yelp and found Beach vibe rentals in Carlsbad but yet right up the street from where we were staying in Oceanside. Called and asked them numerous questions on numerous occasions for about six hours lol and finally decided to rent a golf cart for a couple of days. My mom and me were having such a great time in the golf cart that we rented it for four days! Jesse, the owner is just the nicest man! He went above and beyond and even told us where to safely keep our car parked for the four days since the RV park we were staying at wanted to charge us $20 a day for her car! The…read morebatteries somehow lasted twenty years, and we bought it from a friend five years ago, so we were already pushing our luck. I tried to keep it going with monthly water top offs, which it needed constantly, and even replaced the ignition switch when it finally refused to turn on. At a certain point it felt like I was holding the whole thing together with determination and duct tape. Eventually it gave up for good, and it was time to let it go. I first contacted Jereme in parts to see if it was even worth fixing. It turned out the company disappeared in 2012, so repairs were not going to be a smart investment. From there we talked to Jay, who helped us find a beautiful used and rebuilt cart that looks brand new and drives like it. The whole process was easy, honest, and surprisingly enjoyable. We are very pleased and thankful for Jay, Jereme, and everyone at Prestige Golf Cars for helping us get a great deal and hauling away our old cart. A shout out as well to the delivery driver, whose name I cannot remember, but he made the pickup and drop off genuinely fun. Prestige took what could have been a headache and turned it into a great experience, and we could not be happier with our new cart.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to pick up our Moke as well. We booked the Encinitas/Leucadia option so all we had to do was go to the valet at Alila Marea, who gave us the keys. Super simple and we had a blast -- they were also very kind about letting us bring our dog as long as he was well secured (which was sensible to us). Highly recommend!!

My mom decided she didn't want to do it the day before, so I called and tried to cancel. They said a 7-day cancellation requirement. The woman on the phone said she could submit a cancellation request but it would take a week together get back to me. We ended up using it since there was no guarantee of refund. The car is really slow, traffic was backing up behind us on a 35mph zone. We had to pull over twice to let the line of cars pass. Pretty terrible customer service, they seem like a money-first culture. Also, on-boarding was very time intensive and annoying. Drivers license front, back, insurance information all needed to be upload, and the site had issues. After posting the review above on Google, Moke replied and called me petty. The website had issues uploading my drivers license, I had to try multiple times. Seems like it's a "nuisance" for the owners to pay a proper website developer. They charged $311 for a two-hour rental, with mileage so limited we could barely make it to downtown Encinitas, we had to park and walk around to avoid going over the limit. The advertised speed is higher than the actual speed. As you can see from their response, they don't like taking accountability and will find an excuse to nickel and dime you. They want to charge you cancellation insurance and avoid paying for liability insurance, where most businesses know that's a cost. They're likely untruthful about blocking the booking for other customers - we called before our car was delivered, then it was sitting in front of the hotel for 2-3 hours before our designated time slot. Given their lackluster and accountability-avoiding response, I'll share with Alila to see if this "luxury experience" can be removed from their website to not tarnish the Alila brand. I don't know how a luxury hospitality brand like Alila allows them close to their resort property. As for the software, I tried on 2 separate devices on 2 separate WiFi's and LTE. Again, instead of being curious, they immediately blamed the customer. I think their response stands for themself. If you want spoiled, entitled customer service, please consider Moke & Sun.
