Whilst sitting there I heard them aggressively saying " sit down " over and over... I wasn't aware they were talking about Roger at that stage.. Hairdryer stops and the owner said to the assistant " now i have to ring that bitch to pick up" Realising it was me I said " I'm here" Silence! She sent the young girl out who was embarrassed and started to tell me that Roger fell off the table!! He appeared ok and i left! Wow.. Mmm hence to say I never returned!!!!

We took our Labradoodle here for a wash & trim paying attention to the ears on the end & his paws…read more What we got back was a dog with no hair on his ears & the hair trimmed from his paws & 70mm up his legs & his head hair had been trimmed to make him look like a poodle, in actual fact he looked more like a monkey. As my wife picked up the dog & I only saw him when she came home & when we looked at what these people had done to our beautiful pal I was absolutely disgusted. I left it for a week & then went back to speak to the person in charge & she was adamant that she had said that they would have to trim all the hair from his ears, I was stood there & know what was said & it wasn't that, sadly she was neither contrite nor apologetic but had the nerve to ask me to use them again ...........I don't think so

Whether we take in a chicken or a dog they care for always care for them to very high standards. Their empathy with what animal owners are going through when they have a sick animal is second to none. We had to have a very special bunny rabbit put down a little while ago. It was a very distressing thing especially for my partner and children. However even my tough exterior broke down when I received a lovely sympathy card from the vet a day or two later, been sent in the post, handwritten and all, offering their condolences on the difficult decision we had to make and the passing of our rabbit. Their staff show levels of compassion above all other veterinarians I have visited, they know our pet is a part of our family and treat them as such. They also have extended open hours(only close on Xmas Day) and are GREAT in emergencies! My neighbour says the one at Hackham is cheaper but it is not too expensive here and the care they provide is fantastic. I don't want to take the risk of changing just to save a few dollars.

My dog needed to be admitted overnight but we received a couple of phone calls while she was there giving us updates on how she was doing. Happy to discuss our options and go along with our choices. Once our pup was home, we again got a phone call two days later to make sure she was going ok. Very happy with our experience at Southern Animal Hospital - I think we've found our new vet!
