We went to 20+ craft coffee shops in Ireland and every time we compared to Coffee Cove and every time Coffee Cove was the bar to beat. No one ever did. Just amazing cappuccinos, lattes, machiattos and teas. Food is excellent as well and we ate breakfast every morning here while we stayed in Cobh. Can't more highly recommend.

The whole place was decked out in Halloween decorations, and the atmosphere was very lively. I ordered the lucha libre and an iced strawberry matcha, and I must say that this was one of my favorite meals in Cork. The lucha libre is an incredibly heavy meal, so I didn't finish it, but the potatoes were crispy, the chorizo was flavorful, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. I don't put too much weight on the matcha, but it was definitely more milk than matcha. But the strawberry flavor was nice.

I wanted to go somewhere other than chain places or anywhere on the new Starbucks row in Cork…read morebefore I took my bus home. Thus I arrived on Coffee Quarter. It's a fairly stock standard little café but there are some nice touches to make it more homely. The little section of tables at the back feels like your own sitting room which is nice. It was pretty quiet at the time, and as the lunch service finishes at 3, I'd imagine they close soon enough after-- I arrived at ten to four and the two girls inside were sweeping up and emptying bins etc. The coffee is Badger & Dodo which is one of my favourite brands, so it was quite nice-- and much better value than other places in town. It just wasn't the most atmospheric or comfortable place I've ever had a coffee. Nice tables outside though for good weather, though it's a bit out of the way for any kind of nice view.

This is truly a reader's dream place. The fare is minimal but fresh and delicious from the bits we tried. This brings me to the hot chocolate. Hubby had the tall mug of steaming milk placed in front of him with an enormous block of chocolate on a stick - like a huge square lollipop. The idea was to stick it in the milk and stir until melted. There was a choice of white, milk or dark if I remember correctly (definitely more than just the white chocolate option). He absolutely LOVED it and declared it to be the best he had ever had - check out the photos. The ONLY reason they didn't get a 5 star was due to the lack of seating. We had to wait a while to get a seat and I'm not sure what they could do about that, but if you only have a limited amount of time in Kinsale, you may just want to pop your head in first to see if there is anything available.

She was a bit in the curt side- but was kind in switching a few tarts to bars and made an espresso for my guy. Prices were a bit high, as to be expected in a town like this. the next morning we woke to try our selections. My scone had raisins (I would have preferred cranberries) and was quite dry and bland, even for a "day old" bite. It tasted basically like flour and some raisins from time to time. Everyone else opted for the barista's favorite: some berry cobbler bar. The next morning, all their pastry bags were dripping with butter/oil. I don't think anyone had more than half their bar - everyone commented it was quite heavy and had wished they had went with another option. All in all - it got the job done: we were fed and ready to hit the road for another day of exploring the countryside. But, next time we may opt for another place to pick up selections if we find ourselves in town again.
