A must stop for breakfast or a tasty treat when in Kinsale. Delicious selection of freshly baked pastries and delectable breakfast sandwiches. I had the ham and cheese croissant and it was perfection! The croissant was flaky on the outside and soft on the inside; filled with think slices of ham and cheese. The coffee is freshly brewed and of excellent quality. I also got a raspberry scone and butter croissant to go as we had a long drive that day; and they too were heavenly!

This is truly a reader's dream place. The fare is minimal but fresh and delicious from the bits we tried. This brings me to the hot chocolate. Hubby had the tall mug of steaming milk placed in front of him with an enormous block of chocolate on a stick - like a huge square lollipop. The idea was to stick it in the milk and stir until melted. There was a choice of white, milk or dark if I remember correctly (definitely more than just the white chocolate option). He absolutely LOVED it and declared it to be the best he had ever had - check out the photos. The ONLY reason they didn't get a 5 star was due to the lack of seating. We had to wait a while to get a seat and I'm not sure what they could do about that, but if you only have a limited amount of time in Kinsale, you may just want to pop your head in first to see if there is anything available.

She was a bit in the curt side- but was kind in switching a few tarts to bars and made an espresso for my guy. Prices were a bit high, as to be expected in a town like this. the next morning we woke to try our selections. My scone had raisins (I would have preferred cranberries) and was quite dry and bland, even for a "day old" bite. It tasted basically like flour and some raisins from time to time. Everyone else opted for the barista's favorite: some berry cobbler bar. The next morning, all their pastry bags were dripping with butter/oil. I don't think anyone had more than half their bar - everyone commented it was quite heavy and had wished they had went with another option. All in all - it got the job done: we were fed and ready to hit the road for another day of exploring the countryside. But, next time we may opt for another place to pick up selections if we find ourselves in town again.
