I wanted to go somewhere other than chain places or anywhere on the new Starbucks row in Cork before I took my bus home. Thus I arrived on Coffee Quarter. It's a fairly stock standard little café but there are some nice touches to make it more homely. The little section of tables at the back feels like your own sitting room which is nice.
It was pretty quiet at the time, and as the lunch service finishes at 3, I'd imagine they close soon enough after-- I arrived at ten to four and the two girls inside were sweeping up and emptying bins etc.
The coffee is Badger & Dodo which is one of my favourite brands, so it was quite nice-- and much better value than other places in town.
It just wasn't the most atmospheric or comfortable place I've ever had a coffee. Nice tables outside though for good weather, though it's a bit out of the way for any kind of nice view. read more
