From what I can tell, each of the staff members specialize in a few different areas of focus so that every need/issue is addressed. Being in my early 30's and not having gone to speak with someone since college, I did feel a bit apprehensive about calling to make my first appointment but once I heard the EXTREMELY sweet and pleasant voice on the other end of the line, it was as if it were meant to be. I've never felt more welcomed and comfortable! All the way down to the color of the walls and the soothing music in the living room-like waiting area... Just walking through the door gives the feeling of calm. It's unfortunate that there's such a stigma surrounding "going to a counselor", honestly, going to Woodland Professional Associates has been the most INTERESTING and thought provoking experience I've ever had! I look forward to LEARNING about myself and seeing things from a number of different views (different ways to look at things) and most of all, the reciprocated meaningful conversation! Luna is a safe space that validates clients and meets them where they're at. Luna also offers a pay scale that acknowledges clients may come from different points of privilege, and they'll work with you and your insurance to make care accessible. My dietitian, Nikki DeRosa, is the most supportive human possible. I can say that I would not be alive to write this if not for her help, and she has figured out myriad medical conditions that I later had diagnosed before any of my doctors. Everything from diabetes insipidus to autism spectrum disorder, from hEDS to MCAS to POTS, and from gastroparesis to rapid gastric emptying, Nikki has noticed and is knowledgeable about them all. She cares so much, she'll research a client's symptoms to help figure out what's going on. I often joke she needs an embroidered "Nikki was right" sign to point to, as she's right so very often. I also wouldn't be eating solid food without Nikki's patient guidance on gradually weaning me off a feeding tube and back to eating by mouth. It has not been a smooth journey, and I have not been the easiest client, but I wouldn't be where I am today without her compassion, caring, experience, and expertise. I have known the folks at this office since the mid 1980s. I am not embarrassed to admit that I have used them for help dealing with grief after a significant loss. I have referred several individuals there and can report that they are delighted in the services received. I am particularly impressed with the broad array of skill sets offered. Dr. Paul Fallon is a Harvard graduate and a psychiatrist. He is easy to talk to and will take the time to answer any questions you have. He doesn't just fill you with drugs. He is genuinely interested in YOU as a person as well as a patient. I believe he works out of Exeter too but not sure of this. David McCue is a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He is kind and like Dr.Fallon, has a great cache of skills yet is not arrogant but is warm and easy to talk to. He is good with couples, individuals and families. Dr. Fallon is in high demand but the last time I checked he took Medicare assignment and I believe many of the others do. If your marriage is on the rocks, or you just experienced a loss, try this group. They are NOT like many cold, distant providers who take your money and run. I wish that people would open up about this topic...people need to know about the highly skilled docs, social workers, etc.---they can save you or a loved one's life!
