I had been putting off a colonoscopy for about a decade. I didn't realize the age had been lowered…read moreto 45 for your first baseline procedure. I thought it was a rite of passage at 50 years old. Even then, I skipped the procedure because the Covid lockdown was in full effect and all anyone ever talks about is the horrible preparation for the procedure. I opted for the poop-in-a-box instead of the real deal. After the Covid lockdown was lifted, it became impossible to ignore this. Plus, since I wasn't working, I actually had time to deal with the preparation. The administrator that handled my case was very professional, empathetic, but also very persistent. She was not going to let me back out, and frankly I needed this dedicated individual to answer my questions and keep me on target to completion. She was available to answer my questions, no matter how ridiculous or improbable or mundane they might of seemed. Generally she didn't answer the phone, but she was always good about calling me back and giving me the time and attention I needed. The procedure only happens on Mondays and Thursdays. I had to book several weeks in advance. When I got Covid and wanted to cancel, she wouldn't let me. When I told her my fears about the preparation solution, she offered me tablets instead of the unusual tasting liquid. When I had trouble getting the prescription tablets filled at my pharmacy, she rerouted my prescription to a pharmacy that was able to fulfill my request and mail them to me. When I shared my fears about being on a low fiber diet in the days leading up to the procedure, she calmly offered suggestions and helped me come up with a working meal plan. I never did meet this woman, but she is the only reason I was able to get through this procedure successfully. The clinic staff are separate from the administrative people, so you will have to fill out forms again while you wait in the lobby. Once your name is called, the people in the procedure area are all old hats at this. They will go through everything at lightening speed. In fact, since I was without food, water, and sleep, I couldn't think clearly, and consequently, I had trouble understanding them when they spoke so quickly. If there was one thing I would change, it would be asking the staff to slow down just a little. Also, share the medical history from the administrative forms I previously filled out with the procedure staff so that I don't have to do it from memory in a tired and unfueled state. Other than that, everyone was very kind and professional. Despite my fears, they took good care of me. The final report was provided that answered all of my questions. The doctor and nurse did talk to me after the procedure to let me know how everything went, but when you are coming out of anesthesia, it is hard to remember the details. The report had colored pictures of my colon. It was well diagrammed so that you could identify the different internal parts. This report was also sent digitally through the secure portal with the final notes and biopsy results. Depending on your insurance, there may be separate costs for facility charges, anesthesia, and any special tasks that are performed during the procedure, like removing polyps. Because of this, it might be hard to get an exact cost up front. Afterwards, you might be receiving multiple bills from different entities. I hate this! It really should be coordinated and provided to the patient on one bill to rule them all, but such is the status of healthcare in America. Thankfully I don't have to return for a decade. Hopefully in that time, the medical profession will find new ways to screen for colorectal cancers that aren't so invasive or anxiety producing. If not, well, I would certainly trust this establishment with my care again.

Don't understand these reviews. I was referred here to dr Kurian for my SI joint. I had been…read moresuffering for months. Was super grateful my solution was not surgery. I felt listened to and understood the whole time from first consult through post injection. Dr Kurian listened and provided a compounded topical for pain relief when I shared I could not do narcotics ingested. One injection procedure enabled my mobile SI joint to relax into place. I am grateful to be pain free now over 9 years later!!

I had the unfortunate and very unpleasant experience of dealing with Dr. Kurian's rude office staff…read morethe past several times I've been in the Carrollton office. Unbeknownst to me I saw Dr. Kurian in 2017 when my visit was billed to an insurance policy I no longer had and off the bat the receptionist brought it to my attention and then accused me of committing fraud. As someone who has made a point in my life to be the best role model for my children, that 100% was absolutely false and I was pissed for being accused of something I have never done. Then, after Dr. Kurian lowering my muscle relaxer I called to see if he could try injections in my upper back only to be told that he was unaware of my upper back issues. I have had 6 spinal fusions, the first 5 being in my neck and upper back so, I wanted to make sure they had received my complete medical history since I had to change providers due to insurance and while talking to the nurse or medical assistant, someone else got on the phone and told me that they were busy with patients and HUNG UP on me. So, naturally I told Dr. Kurian who informed me that the staff denied doing that. He clearly believed them. Meanwhile, I requested they look at my other office visits from 2017 and nobody did. Why? No explanation. Then today happened and as soon as I got to the Carrollton office I was told I had to pay my balance which Dr. Kurian said he would discount, and I don't have extra cash just laying around,I wanted them to explain why I owed the amount and was told I gave them a policy they didn't accept only today I called that policy and guess what, I didn't even have that policy until 2019. Plus the office staff refused to look at anything from 2017. They told me that they already gave me enough information! So I said obviously I'm stupid and I need you to repeat it then. Guess who Dr. Kurian sided with again??? Them. So good luck to anyone with a balance or a question.

Outstanding experience. Staff is warm, friendly, private room very comfortable. Nurses efficient,…read moreknew what they were doing, so kind. Dr. Hollmuller is caring and compassionate; he LISTENED and I never felt rushed. They aren't just pushing people through; they're providing a lifeline for many who've done everything to address severe depression, to no avail. Am so appreciative of their veteran's/first responder discount - only one other doctor who offers this treatment in Dallas does it. Although esketamine is FDA approved, I was told that IV treatment would be better for me. Esketamine is FDA-approved, but it's difficult to access in Dallas. Unless you're still working and have employer-subsidized insurance, it's still very expensive. Haven't found a Medicare-based plan from any insurance company that will cover it, so if you're retired or disabled, trying to live on a fixed income, you're pretty much out of luck. Am learning that as we age, if we're not fortunate enough to have had everything go "right" in our lives, we might now be expendable. Both nasal and IV treatment prohibit driving after treatment, so people who don't have family or friends to help have the added expense of transportation. If TKS was further away from me, I couldn't have done it, and I live in NE Dallas. Paying 100% out of pocket for treatment makes it inaccessible for so many of us. I wonder how many suicides happen when people finally give up after years of taking antidepressants that don't work or have unacceptable side effects, who have had ECT or TMS, all with no symptom improvement. Kept thinking that FDA approval would be forthcoming soon and make treatment less costly, so tried hard to keep going. Spent countless hours researching, making calls, nothing. Finally called the FDA in September and very nice PERSON provided ph #s to two pharmaceutical companies with pending requests. Both companies said their requests didn't include treatment of depression, but wouldn't explain. Did more digging and found that because pharmaceutical companies can't make it profitable, it's no longer even on the table. Doesn't look like it will happen any time soon, if at all. Cried for a few days then started selling stuff and was able to pay for initial series of treatment. Thank you, God! Due to strong faith beliefs, have never been suicidal, so didn't get an immediate "boost." Life-issues that worsen depression haven't been resolved, and meds don't solve everything. BUT anxiety decreased right away and after initial series, debilitating depression seems to be lifting after 25 yrs. I can feel a difference and to stabilize, even incrementally, would be life-changing. Must now take radical steps and sacrifice some basic needs to continue treatment. I'll cut way back on everything and trust God to protect me. The payoff - if it happens like I think it will - will make the hardship worth it. If it doesn't, I'll accept that, but God has opened a door! PS - If you decide to do this, create a well-considered playlist and wear headphones. No dance music!

From the owner: Ketamine is a medication that has been prescribed to men, women and children for well over 60…read moreyears, primarily as an anesthetic. In 2000, medical researchers discovered that ketamine has a powerful effect on depression, especially in patients resistant to typical antidepressant treatment. Physicians have seen powerful and continuous results of ketamine depression treatment over recent years. These improvements include a lift in mood in as little as a few minutes or hours, a reduction in suicidal thinking and none of the side effects typically seen with classic antidepressants. At Texas Ketamine Specialists, serving patients in the Dallas, Plano and Richardson, Texas communities, patients receive a thorough psychiatric and medical evaluation prior to ketamine infusion therapy. Once suitability for treatment has been identified by Dr. Andrea Kim, patients undergo one ketamine infusion - typically enough to demonstrate whether the treatment is effective - by Dr. Clark Morgan.
