I wanted to update on my post from several months ago on the poor surgical result and experience…read more(lack of reply to my issue) with Dr. Burns. It has now been approximately 8 months and still no reply regarding my issues from Dr. Burns or his office. I have since flown from Indy to Houston Texas and had my belly button revision. This is the first of what will be a two stage correction meaning I will travel again and pay again for a second revision procedure because of how poor my belly button was done initially. My current surgeon is perplexed by what exactly was done in my surgery with Burns. The only thing he can guess is that the incisions were closed with too much tension especially with the lower long scar he possibly took too much skin and had to pull the incision too tight causing the belly button to have constant pulling on my incisions. My long scar initially post op did start opening in a few spots which was told was normal and to put bacitracin on and keep it covered. Now I see this was also probably related to the the incision being closed too tightly. My low incision didn't heal great because of this as I said in my previous post but at least that could be covered with clothing etc. The revision has to be done in two steps since there was zero laxity left from my surgery with Burns. My new surgeon went in from the low incision and excised some of the excess scar tissue and took out the "outer circle incision" and has managed to actually tuck everything in (scar and incision) to be moreso hidden inside the bellybutton as new technique is done versus the antiquated "circle" around the whole outside of the bellybutton that Burns did. My next surgery will be to hopefully make the belly button smaller and tuck everything in further. My new surgeon didn't have the laxity at this point to work with requiring the second surgery I will need. To add my new surgeon who is truly an artist and updated in his techniques also completely revised my low scar and took out the widened areas that was caused my by initial incision being too tight and pulling open. He did this as a courtesy at no charge. After my next revision procedure when things are all healed up I will post before and afters - at this point I am still self conscious about it despite it being so much better that it was with Dr. Burns result. My new lower revised incision looks fantastic however and from week four was thin and you really had to look for it!!! He brought it lower and into my contour more... I really didn't realize how subpar my low incision even was as I was so focused on my poor belly button result. At this point I am out SO much money between my initial travel to Dallas for Dr Burns and two subsequent visits with Dr Burns again traveling from Indianapolis for him to attempt to "fix it." Airfares, hotels rental cars x 3 Dallas trips. My initial request was asking Dr Burns to refund my tummy tuck fee portion of my initial surgery cost which went unanswered. With all of my other expenses and now my revision procedures x 2 and subsequent travel across the US I have/am spending a fortune to fix Dr Burns poor work. What I asked of Dr Burns was a small small amount in the big scheme of things. The fact that I have still not received any reply to my initial emails and request speaks volumes to me about Dr Burns and his true charachter. Like I said prior these people will seem over the top friendly and caring, and Dr Burns will email you and respond to your emails personally until you have a problem or concern and then it will fall upon deaf ears and you will not get a reply. If you are seeking a surgeon once again I would advise you to keep looking. I found Dr Burns on TikTok and truly wished I didn't fall for the cutesy comedy videos and fake persona that they/he portrays - I wish I would have went with someone who was spending their free time updating their outdated techniques. Someone who is more focused on my surgery than perhaps rushing through it to go make the next TikTok video. I will keep sharing my result and experience on this platform and others in hopes that it helps others. Dr Burns has recently renovated his fancy office and practice suite yet could not have the decency to refund a very small nominal amount of money for his mistake. That tells me all I need to know about who he truly is as a person and what his priorities are.

I had an appointment for a consultation and had to pay for when I booked it. Got there on time at…read more4pm and waited for an hour before anyone came out. And the girl was rather rude when she did finally come out because by that time the office was closed. Even the receptionist left before anyone came out... During the wait time I discovered the doctor I was seeing was basically finishing his training. Uh no.. I expected to see an experienced surgeon. I'm really mad I wasn't told this prior to making an appointment and paying. I would've never made the appointment. I searched for the doctor trainee and I couldn't find any reviews or before and after photos of anything he's ever done. Sorry not going to be someone's practice dummy. I am highly pissed I took off work early drove to the other side of town for nothing. And now that it's after 5pm I get to battle traffic for 45 mins to get home.

Update to my previous review: Due to my insurance, it took…read morealmost 24 months to qualify. I can say that the staff was patient, helpful and insightful. The wait was worth it as the surgery cost me very little out of pocket. Throughout the process, the staff could not have been better. When the day of surgery finally arrived, I felt calm, educated and prepared. Dr. Castro is a surgeon master. I was up walking within hours and sitting in a movie theater the next day. Since starting my adventure I have lost 56 lbs, 23 of which was within the first 14 days of post op. I am well on my way towards my goal of 85 total pounds. Thank you DFW Bariatric, Dr. Castro and the staff for your fine, professional services.

DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME!…read more I could not even get past the initial Consultation phase that started in June 2022 (it is now late August 2022) for the following reasons: 1). Initial paperwork was claimed to have not been received; Completed for a 2nd time but had to reschedule 2). TWO (2) appointments for the initial consultation was rescheduled and cancelled 3). I paid the consultation fee over the phone after my insurance was verified. I was contacted by "Janet" 1 week later and told: "You need to pay an additional $180 because I misquoted you the consultation fee" 4). 24 Hours before the 3rd consultation attempt, I was contacted and told that my original insurance had expired and that I needed to provide them with my new insurance. I stated I would call back in 45 - 1hour as I was at work going into a meeting. I called back in 20 minutes instead with my new insurance provided by my NEW EMPLOYER 3 TIMES AND LEFT MESSAGES EACH TIME FOR A CALL BACK - CALL BACK NEVER HAPPENED! NOTE: During my leaving messages, my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled within this time frame via TEXT MESSAGE 4). Day of my appointment (today @ 2:00pm), I am sitting in the virtual consultation waiting for Dr. Kukreja. At 2:15pm I received a TEXT MESSAGE FROM JANET asking to call the office. Janet (very aloof as always) stated that my appointment has been cancelled because of the expired insurance. I told her that I have new insurance through my new employe but I was very taken aback by sitting in the virtual room waiting for 15 minutes for the Consultation that I already paid for. I also explained to her that all she needs to do is check the office voicemail and she could then verify that I left 3 message. Janet stated (in her usual, could careless, ALOOF tone) that she "had no knowledge of the voice messages" and continued to ask for my new insurance information. Ultimately, I spent an additional 10 minutes asking Janet: "Why should I continue with the service if this is how a potential patient is treated during the consultation phase? What would change once I am a new patient? Janet's answer to me was to again ask me for my new insurance information; I just terminated the call; I refuse to throw away my hard earned money nor insurance to such a poorly ran from office. Absolutely NOT

When I moved to Dallas, I was really lucky to find Dr. Montgomery to do my next two ACL and meniscus surgeries. What drew me to him was that he is a professor at UT Southwestern, was the lead physician of the Olympics for a number of years, and he ONLY does knees. He is extremely well known in this field and once you meet him, it's easy to see why. I have a lot of experience with knee injuries. Here are some notes from my experience with Dr. Montgomery that stood out to me: - He takes the time to diagnose your problem (I do not agree with other reviewers who say otherwise). Every time I saw him, he would do an initial diagnosis but would always have me get a MRI to confirm his suspicions (and he was always spot on). I also really liked that he gave me the option to get a same-day MRI-- I would see him in his office, go get a MRI, and bring the disc back to him a few hours later on the same day. I was not charged for a second appointment, and it was so nice to be able to get my results all in one day. - He is very easy to schedule appointments and surgeries with. No long delays sitting around waiting for an appointment just to confirm your fear of an injury. My last injury, I tore my ACL in a game on Saturday, got in to see Dr. Montgomery on Tuesday, had a same day MRI and confirmed the injury, then scheduled surgery for the following Wednesday. - Dr. Montgomery is very closely connected with the TOA physical therapy location on Walnut Hill and 75, which I also VERY highly recommend (I have been to 6 different physical therapy locations. This is by far the best I've been to). When I had a scare from a loose screw from my first surgery in Arizona, I went straight to physical therapy on a Monday morning to get it checked out immediately (Montgomery is in surgery Mondays), but the therapist was able to text Dr. Montgomery my concerns and within a few minutes I was already connected with him on my issue. - For the actual surgery, Dr. Montgomery's office has physical therapists come talk to you while you are still in the hospital. They help teach you what exercises to do immediately following surgery, and even help you with simple tasks such as walking and going up and down stairs. I can imagine this would be extremely helpful for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience on crutches. - Overall I feel like Dr. Montgomery and the physical therapy office he's connected to has a lot of experience working with athletes. They have programs in place to transition you from physical therapy back to sports. Seriously can't recommend Dr. Montgomery enough! I have full confidence that these last two surgeries will be my last. I've even recommended him to friends who have had surgeries with him as well and feel to same as I do.
