We've been to this Moge Tee location in Durham a couple times and it was good both times. We've been to the location in Raleigh and it was good too: https://www.yelp.com/biz/moge-tee-raleigh-raleigh So far, this seems like a solid bubble tea brand. At this location, I tried the Rose Bubble Milk Tea (half sugar, large size, $6.25) and the Mango Tea Slush (half sugar, $6.25). The Rose Bubble Milk Tea was available in medium (500 mL, $5.25) and large (700 mL). I believe the Mango Tea Slush was available in large size only. Prices were before tip and tax. Both drinks were well made, good quality, and delicious. The Fresh Rose Bubble Milk Tea had a nice balance of tea, milk, and boba flavor. The boba was fresh and had appetizing consistency. The Mango Tea Slush was made with real mango. Like other bubble tea shops with fruit teas, Moge Tee had prefilled cups with mango ready to go. Upon ordering, they added ingredients to the mango and blended everything together. The drink was icy cold, refreshing, and tasty. Again, good quality. Sweet, but not too sweet. Moge Tee has a good selection of drinks. Aside from the aforementioned bubble milk and fruit teas, they have cheese foam drinks, yogurt fruit tea, milk swirl drinks (e.g., brown sugar boba), uji matcha (highest-grade matcha), tofu pudding drinks, and more. Service has been fine. The first time, we ordered with an employee at the counter. The second time, there was a self-serve kiosk off to the side with a touchpad. Overall, Moge Tee is one of the better bubble tea chains we've tried so far in the Triangle. There's also a location on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. This location is on 9th St in Old West Durham, near Duke East Campus. It opened in February 2021. For both of our visits, we parked on the street for free. It's two-hour parking, 8am-6pm. read more

I had to tell the barista about the bitterness of the tea and she added more simple syrup to try to balance it out. It did not work! She was nice enough to substitute the drink out altogether with a new order! Inside is appropriate for a quick hangout spot but nothing interesting. The bathroom is spacious. "Boba Tea on Ninth Street in Durham" Came here on a Saturday afternoon -- it's basically directly across Ninth Street from Juju and Panera. It was surprisingly crowded with people either waiting for their orders, in line to order, or drinking their drinks, but there were still some seats available. One orders either using their mobile app (recommended for speed) or using one of two tablets in the store. I got the mango tea (no cheese foam), 70% sweet, half ice, and added coconut jellies. The store sent me an automated text saying my order would be ready in about 15 minutes. (Side-note: my wife wanted the purple yam bubble milk, but it was "sold out", so she got a mango bubble milk instead.) Fortunately, it didn't take quite that long-- probably closer to 10 despite the crowds. My tea came in a large plastic (possibly compostable? it had a funny texture) cup that had a covered hole, so easy to use. The quality and flavor combination was excellent. It was sweet but not overpowering. The ice was spot-on. And it was easy to drink. The price was reasonable for bubble tea (I think mine was around $7), especially given the primo location on Ninth Street. I will add that my son had one experience here wherein he came and they were out of most of the options, so I definitely recommend getting the app and ordering that way before trekking over. He remade the drink without a word to my friend about the error, then when my friend tried his new drink, the fellow had obviously forgot the sweetener this time--we didn't even want to bother with a third remake so my friend sucked it up and drank his unsweetened tea. Then mine came out and there was a hair embedded in the top of the foam. I immediately brought it back and he again remade the drink without a single word to me about his hair that was poking out of the top of my drink. It would seem that whoever is in charge needs to take their employee training way more seriously. This business won't last like this. read more

Honestly, not the biggest fan of Moge Tee. I've gotten the Brown Sugar and Taro boba drinks, which were both just okay. I feel like their quality really changes based on the day. Service is not super fast; nice ambiance on Ninth Street. I have a friend in Durham who swears that Moge Tee is up to California standards for milk tea, so I was intrigued and decided to try. I was surprised that the line was quite long for a weekday night, but then again, it is right next to a college campus. I ordered Cheese Foam Fresh Mango Tea and was surprised about how pricy it was. But I will say that the amount of tea they give you is quite insane and would justify the price a bit. All of their fruit teas, including this one, include whole fruit inside which I appreciate very much. Also, the salty cheese foam with the fresh tea definitely makes the best combination. Overall, would say that the fruit teas here are pretty good despite its higher prices. Would come back to try more of their other teas. read more

Moge tee is one of my go to boba places in the triangle area. Each boba place has something that they do really well/focus on and with moge tee, i think it's their fruity drinks though I've not tried their milk teas. I always get some variation of a fruit slush w/ cheese foam + some kind of jelly +/- boba. I think the cheese foam with fruity drinks balance each other out well when you want something refreshing but you also want something creamy or salty to contrast it. Their fruity drinks are always refreshing and light. they are not going to be super sweet if that's more your speed. read more

Awesome boba tea place on 9th street! Finally! It is on the pricer side compared to other places like Quickly's and Yaya tea, but the quality of the tea is definitely more consistent. We have tried a variety of the flavors: Green milk tea, black milk tea, cheese foam mango tea, and hawaii bubble milk tea, just to name a few ;) We have not been disappointment the milk tea has reliably been on point. Moge Tee has been on my list for months now, and I finally got a chance to try it with some friends! They had a variety of special drinks as well as classics. I would say there is something for everyone because one of my friends is not a milk tea or tapioca pearl person, but she found a drink that she enjoyed-- the Oreo milk tea w/ no boba pearls. I got the mango pomelo drink with a cheese foam. I thought the mango flavor was on the bland side, but the pomelo pieces really shined. I rarely get a cheese cap or foam in my drink, but I might start because it worked so nicely with the fruit flavors. The ordering process was quite simple with friendly staff as well as a self order station. The inside is one of the more spacious boba shops I've seen, with large tables toward the front and benches with small tables that line the back. I'm curious to try more from them! read more

Their app is horrific (it flat out doesn't work) so you can't order ahead, which means pretty much always at least a 5-10 minute wait, but I don't mind that. It's worth it for my taro tofu pudding drink, half ice, swirled just right so you get tea, taro, and tofu in every sip. I tried cheese foam for the first time here - I never was too eager to try it before because it sounded like it was going to be weird. And surprise: it is weird. Despite Moge Tee being a relatively new boba shop in the area, it has quickly become my go-to spot for hangouts or even just a quick to-go drink. I've had at least a dozen things off the menu and I have yet to find anything short of amazing. My favorite fruit based drink is the mango pomelo - it has fresh fruit (mango and pomelo pulp), cream, mango slushi, and the chewy white bubbles. The bubbles have a more springy texture than traditional tapioca and are a lot less sweet. The drink has a party of textures and flavors that somehow blend together seamlessly. The drink is a little pricey (~$8 for large) but definitely worth the splurge. If you're a fan of milk tea I would give the classic bubble milk tea a try - it has a dense tea flavor but it doesn't overpower the milk. Also, don't forget to add tapioca! If you are used to drinking boba in Asia, I recommend customizing your drink with light (30%) sugar. I find regular sugar levels to be too sweet. Also highly recommend their cheese foam collection, it's delicious. The interior is super clean, and the decor is minimalist and cute, perfect for an afternoon getaway or study date. read more

They are refreshing and sweet, and we would say the best ones are their strawberry and mango teas and milks. 3. Moge Tee is pricey. On multiple occasions, we have spent almost $10 on one drink. 4. They are often out of boba pearls, especially later at night. There have been multiple times we have visited Moge Tee after dinner to leave the store empty handed because they didn't have any boba pearls. Overall: We have been to Moge Tee several times out of convenience rather than pleasure. While their fruit teas and fruit milks are pretty good, it always hurts our wallets because they are on the pricier end when it comes to boba drinks. Bustling tea shop on 9th Street that is very popular with Duke students. The menu is plentiful and they allow for the typical customizations (jellies, pudding, ice amount, and sweetness level). I tried their milk tea with boba, 50% sugar, and no ice. For me, this is the optimal tea! It's not too sweet, your drink doesn't get watered down, and your straw doesn't have problems getting boba because ice is in the way! This place can get very busy with students so expect longer wait times. Everyone wears masks and keeps their distance. Still, if you are uncomfortable waiting inside with others, you may need to visit during an off-peak time. Lastly, I don't find the parking situation ideal. It's either street parking, or park in the Panera/Harris Teeter parking lot across the street and risk getting towed. Moge was my first boba tea in Durham! Maybe I am a snob coming from both Los Angeles and Houston, but I wasn't blown away by the menu options. There is a scarcity of good legit boba places in Durham so I was so glad when Moge Tee came to 9th street! Their indoor seating is limited right now due to COVID but they have a cute setup to hang out and take photos with friends. Our go-tos are the Uji Matcha drinks on their menu and their refreshing fruit teas. I tried the Ube (purple yam) boba one time and it wasn't my favorite (I'll just stick to the taro one next time). Since it is only 1 of the 3 boba places in this part of Durham (the 4th one is farther down Southpoint), it gets super busy with students on certain days and times. Their boba flavors are quite extensive and can be overwhelming for a non-frequent boba drinker, and I feel like the staff we encountered so far do not really help much in explaining/answering questions. As a student in the area, I'm stoked that there's a new boba shop in the area! Getting decent quality boba on campus is nearly impossible, so it's wonderful to be in walking distance to Moge Tee. I also am acquainted with some of the employees working there so it's been exciting to see them. Overall, the quality of Moge is decent for the area! For their fruit teas, they blend fresh fruit so there is no artificial flavor. Because I cannot have dairy, I've only tried their selection of fruit teas. I've had the Superfruit Green Tea, Fresh Lemon Green Tea, and the Strawberry Tea. I'm someone who loves sweet, so I would recommend lowering the sugar level if you prefer a fruity rather than sugary flavor. As for their milk teas, they're also good quality! My friends have tried a wide selection of them, such as their matcha latte, creme brûlée, and cheese cap teas. Some of their milk teas such as the matcha have really cute caps and packaging, so if you're big on taking Instagram photos check it out! The atmosphere of the actual store is cute, too. They have nice decor and a few seating places. Excited for when this place becomes more packed after the pandemic is over! It already seems like a really nice place to hang out with friends. My only gripe with Moge is that there are no dairy alternatives for their milk teas. I feel like most boba shops provide soy, oat, almond, or coconut alternatives at this point, though I think Moge might just be a chain that doesn't carry milk alternatives period. I've been to their Chapel Hill location before and they also did not have milk alternatives as an option. Additionally, I wish their fruit teas came with a medium size option. At prices of Moge's level, it's a pretty high price considering what you're getting. The boba is definitely the best in the area but I wouldn't rank it over other options in Durham, Cary, or Chapel Hill. That being said, I'm excited for when they expand their menu to include their desert options. I will definitely be coming back with my friends to try those out! read more
