I just walked out. Girl dumped rice off of a flour tortilla into the rice container, contaminated the whole rice container for the next unsuspecting Celiac patient. I told the staff about it and they didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about. Then as she finally began to remove the contaminated rice, I watch another employee swashing around a dirty soap water rag all around the open food containers without removing them first, dirty water and food debris flying everywhere including into the food. This was the best Moes trip I've ever experienced. I usually go to the Glastonbury location but it has since closed. I went on 6/1/24 and the staff was all so friendly. I was welcomed upon my entry. They gave big scoops and lots of protein. The manager was very friendly as he was the one who got my chips and queso. The store was also clean. Hats off to this Moe's location!!! This is my go-to place for a quick "Mexican" fix (emphasis on the quotation marks). The portions are very generous, the prices are fair, and there is plenty of variety to choose from regarding toppings and salsas. When I went here, I ordered the "Earmuffs" which is basically a burrito bowl. Additionally, I had some chips and queso. Let me tell you that they do not skimp on any of the ingredients and the bowl is FILLED. If you are super hungry, I definitely recommend the "Earmuffs" since (depending on you fill it) it is easily shareable between two people. The burrito bowl is larger than the bowl served in Chipotle, so be prepared. I absolutely enjoyed the chips and queso, and the dip had a nice "dangerously cheesy" flavor to it. As a person who LOVES spicy food and hot sauce, I absolutely love their salsa bar. I favored the ability to choose from a variety of salsas since at times I may want a bite to be super spicy, but other times I may want it more mild. Despite their portions being very generous, the quality of "Mexican" food simply and definitely cannot compare to the authentic mom-&-pop restaurants. (Just stating the obvious.) Hence, I recommend this place to anyone craving a quick "southwest/Mexican" fix and to anyone who has a huge appetite. read more

I'm a huge fan of Moe's, having eaten at both locations in Storrs and South Windsor. And I was pleased to hear about this location, given its convenient proximity to a lot of stores I frequent. So I was one of the first customers in the door for this location's $3 burrito grand opening at 11:00 AM. Within the first 30 min, the line was already stretching towards the back of their restaurant. I ordered a veggie burrito bowl (their name for it is "band camp") with both kinds of rice, both kinds of beans, the pico de gallo, corn, lettuce, and guacamole. I then added generous helpings of one of their medium salsas at their serve-yourself salsa bar. Normally you get some tortilla chips with any entree order that you can eat with the salsa of your choosing, though I've noticed the quantity of chips fluctuates widely with the mood of the employee who's serving you. This time, my friend and I were only given a paltry handful of chips each, without any extra for the queso she had also ordered. Either they expected us to eat most of the $3.99 cup of queso with a spoon or it was just an oversight - so we went up to ask for extra chips on our way out, which they did give us without any issues. I ate half my burrito bowl there and was disappointed to find some of the rice to be undercooked. I saved half to eat for lunch the next day and was alarmed to discover a large piece of soggy cardboard mixed in with the tomatoes. I knew this wasn't something I had personally done because the food had been stored with a cover, and thinking back, I had dismissed my observation of the big spoonful of picco de gallo looking a little brown. Finally, if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, I would caution you against eating here. I noticed as my bowl was being made that there were pieces of cheese that had fallen into the tomatoes, which I made sure to avoid. It seemed to me like their arrangement of ingredients could be better to avoid cross-contamination, particularly for people who may have life-threatening allergies. As much as I love Moe's as a chain, the issues I encountered on their grand opening day make me nervous about eating at this location again. read more

I am the worst at remembering to "Check in", but I have visited this location at least 10 times since opening. Though the South Windsor location is not far from my house at all, this is closer to work and the other places I spend my time. So happy to have it! I like the layout of the location much better than South Windsor, and the electronic menus are a huge design plus. Love the crew! They still seem excited to be there. They are entertaining, and I see many of the same workers the more I go. One last bonus, perhaps the most important thing for me: No hostile manager. I have had too many run-one with the rude manager at South Windsor and am SO glad to be able to avoid any more of those. Love and am happy to support this location! read more

Called and person who answered phone said she was looking at our food that wasn't put in bag. We asked for refund for item and she got her manager. Manager said that because food was made, they couldn't issue refund. We said we would take a credit and her response was the credit would be good for only a few days. We don't eat Mo's every other day, so we said we'd be back in a few weeks. Manager said she couldn't extend it. On my most recent visit I arrived and was the second person in line (behind the one person currently being served). I waited at least 5 minutes (probably closer to 10) at the counter while the staff filled a massive online order. Normally I would think that Moes would prioritize customers waiting in line over the online orders but I guess not. This Moe's location has been hit or miss the past few times we've ordered, more so on the miss side. Today however I could not even finish my burrito. I got a veggie with beans, rice, guac, sour cream, and cheese. Idk what it was but something in the burrito was extremely salty, as if they had dumped a whole bottle of taco seasoning in there. I only took a few bites before I was opening it trying to see if they accidentally put meat or something in there that would cause it to taste like that but couldn't see anything other than what I ordered. My husband and I love Moe's so we ordered online from this location. The first time one item was missing, but thought it was just a rare mistake so we ordered another time. The second time we ordered tacos. When we opened the bag our tacos were basically thrown in there with no care about how they would reach us. There was almost no meat or toppings in each one and we basically felt ripped off. They were also A MESS! The queso is really the only reason we ordered food the last and final time along with a bday coupon for a free burrito. We weren't expecting anything great after our first two failed deliveries, but we were hoping that the people working there could make a decent burrito. My husband couldn't even find the meat in his and had a mouth full of sour cream, so much that it dripped down his face. He thought he had gotten the wrong order, until he got to the other end and found ALL the meat at that end. My burrito was very similar to his except I had a very small amount of sour cream in the entire burrito and double the amount of rice than meat or any other topping I had asked for. It was like they rushed through the order and just threw all the toppings on the wrap with no care in the world. No consistency throughout either burrito. Will not be ordering here again. Though I would much rather leave a positive review than a negative review, I would also rather leave an honest review than a dishonest one. I have been to this Moe's on a couple previous occasions and was satisfied. I eat at Moe's in Avon fairly frequently and used to work there, so I like to think that I'm familiar with what my meal should and should not look like, how it tastes, and roughly how much it costs. Yesterday I went in to grab a bite before work and didn't realize I'd overpaid until I looked over my receipt after I started eating. Not being very fussy, being in a bit of a rush, and understanding that everyone makes mistakes, I didn't bring attention to this problem. What I can't stand, however is a complete lack of attention to detail. The guy rolling my burrito didn't give a damn that he messed up rolling my burrito and made no effort or offer to re-roll it. Again, I'm not fussy and just wanted some food in my belly so I can do a good job at work, so I opened up the burrito and tried to eat it with a fork. The chicken in the burrito was dry and hadn't been chopped properly so it was getting pulled in big, connected chunks. The onions were the same way and some of the onion was from the tougher outer peel of it. The steak had wayyy too much seasoning as well, I almost gagged. Less than halfway through eating the barely edible burrito I called it quits and threw out $10 worth of food. So not only did I waste time and effort working for that money, but it's now in the garbage and I was hungry at work later. If I were the owner of this establishment, I would be appalled with the quality control in this foodservice establishment. Also, the area where utensils are kept and salsa bar were severely neglected. The place did not appear short staffed so I'm really not sure what plausible excuse(s) they have. I would offer to take the manager position, but I doubt they could afford me. Writing an unfavorable review also won't win me any brownie points. I will come in again in a week or two when the craving strikes me, but rest assured that from now on, I'm going to look at the food in front of me, as well as how clean and organized the location is before I order ANYTHING. read more

I had to swing by Moe's for a to go lunch and I happened to be in uniform. Without asking, without even telling me, the manager takes his own credit/debit card out of his wallet and pays for my meal! I asked why and he said "thank you for your service" Moe's has always had my business, and this Moe's just got another loyal customer. I am confused by the bad reviews for this location! I have been a Moe's fan for years!! Although the Evergreen location is not far from my house, this location is SUPER close!! I went here last week for the first time and was impressed at how much nicer this location was in comparison to the Evergreen location. Everything had that new feeling to it as this location just opened. The menu was digital and appealing to the eye. The staff seemed much more on point and quicker than what I have experienced at the other Moe's. I did not dine in but liked the layout of the dining room much better than the Evergreen location. It seemed less clustered and more open. And to top it off, when I got home, my burrito was better than I remembered! I will definitely be visiting this location again in the future! read more

That's it. I am DONE with this location Placed an online order for 3 separate burritos all with unique mixes of ingredients. When I went to get them they FORGOT which one was which! Never bothered to stick the ingredient receipt on the bag as they usually do. And the girl at the register shrugged and threw the receipts in whatever bag she felt like it - right in front of me. I should have demanded they remake them right there but thought I could figure things out. Nope. Cutting into them at home - no signs of pico, no signs of jalapenos... its a total crap shoot and no one wants those things in their burrito if they specifically didn't want them.
