This is a great Moe's. Friendly, accurate, clean. Food is always consistent. Always come for Moe Monday

This was the first Moe's I tried in the Triangle and it let me down. When you hover over the star ratings on Yelp, two stars says, "Could've been better." That's exactly how I feel about my experience here. It could've been better. There are three Moe's Southwest Grill locations in Durham. This is the one at Renaissance Center at Southpoint, near I-40 exit 276. I ordered using the Moe's app. I didn't realize it until I got home, but the staff forgot the red salsa I ordered. "Red salsa" was even printed on the ticket inside my bag. The staff did include the green salsa I ordered, but it was just a tiny size for a large bag of chips. What the heck? Now, we did get a cup of queso too, but this order was seriously lacking in salsa. Disappointing. This wouldn't have been a big deal if we had dined in because we could've just gone to the counter and asked for more salsa. However, for pickup orders, the staff here needs to do better job of checking to see that every item on each ticket is fulfilled. One of the items we got was a Homewrecker Bowl with white meat chicken ($9.59). The amount of food in this Homewrecker Bowl was significantly less than the last Homewrecker Bowl I got at a different Moe's location. Also, there was barely any chicken in the bowl. You really had to dig around to find a small piece here and there. They really skimped on the portions, especially the meat. It was sad. Aside from the above issues, we did enjoy the food that was there. I got the cup of queso for free because I was using the Moe's app for the first time. If you've never used the Moe's app before, it's worth trying and getting the free cup of queso. You have to remember to add the cup of queso to your cart. It was regularly $3.99 when I got it. I uninstalled the app afterwards since I don't buy from Moe's often. The chips and queso were good. My wife liked it. If you're a regular at Moe's, then for every $1 you spend through the app or website (with a Moe's account), you earn 1 point. When you collect 100 points, you get a $10 reward. In other words, spend $100 to get a $10 reward to use on a future visit. By default, "Homewrecker" burritos and burrito bowls come with a choice of protein, rice, beans, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guac. For the Homewrecker Bowl with white meat chicken, we got cilantro lime rice and black beans plus grilled onions, grilled peppers, pickled jalapenos, cilantro, and Southwest vinaigrette dressing. I thought this bowl was OK. I think a typical Chipotle bowl tastes better, is more filling, and a better value. My wife liked the Homewrecker Bowl more than me. Another item we got was the Homewrecker Burrito with ground beef ($8.89). I decided to get ground beef because I don't remember having Moe's ground beef before. It was alright. It's hard to mess up ground beef, I think. Along with the default Homewrecker ingredients, I got this burrito with seasoned rice, black beans, grilled onions, grilled peppers, fresh jalapenos, cilantro, and Chipotle ranch dressing. I liked this burrito way more than the bowl. Together with the chips and queso, the burrito was filling and satisfying. They weren't as stingy with the ground beef as they were with the white meat chicken, but I do think the burrito could've had a little more beef. Ordering with the app was easy. I liked the interface. The staff was polite, friendly, and did the company signature "Welcome to Moe's!" when I entered. There was an estimated 15-minute turnaround time from the time I placed my order. My order was ready and waiting at the pickup station inside, across from the register, in less than 15 minutes. Nice and fast, which wasn't surprising considering the restaurant was mostly empty and there was no one in line when I visited around 7:41pm on a Wednesday night. I was charged a $0.35 "service fee" before tax and tip. Maybe they should just build (hide) that into the price of the food. This Moe's has a relatively spacious dining room along with several tables outside on an uncovered patio. I probably won't return to this Moe's location, mainly because I don't eat at Moe's much. In general, I like Moe's OK. The first year they opened, my friends and I used to go to the original location in Buckhead Atlanta when we were college students at Georgia Tech. I had soured on this location several years ago when an employee was rude and wouldn't honor my coupon for a free burrito. We were in the neighborhood on a cold, rainy weeknight and decided to grab some fast casual food. The staff were much nicer this time. It's been a while and I noticed Moe's has gotten rid of some of their signature burritos with funny names from years ago. My wife enjoyed the veggie bowl and I had the crunch wrap with chicken. Both were good and filling, and we enjoyed the variety of salsas. Tip: if you have an AARP membership, show your card to get a discount. read more

TLDR: Decent Moes location but better to order in person and then take to go. Some messups with online orders and lobby is meh. So reviews for chains are in some ways harder than local places. The quality of the food is still important of course but it's both restricted to what the franchise provides and it needs to be a consistent experience across locations. This location gives an adequate Moes experience with the fact you can order a home wrecker or kids meal options and get the same add-ins and toppings as with any other Moes. The employees at this location, although friendly, don't push enthusiasm that the brand typicaly likes. When you go into the door you don't get the loud "welcome to moes!" half the time for example, which I admit if I worked there would be hard to keep doing. Today the lobby has either broken AC or it's simply not on which is hard to accept as it's 82 F outside. Additionally, about a third of the chairs in the lobby are coming apart. Napkins on the floor, tables dirty. In general the inside could use some TLC and a refresh. If you live close to here it's fine but otherwise unless you're really craving Moes I would skip for other options in the Southpoint area. read more

We have been loyal Moe Monday-ers for many years now among various locations as we moved. The deal itself has changed a few times but we stick with it as a tradition of a reasonably priced, filling meal. I hate to say it but over the last year they really declined initially - orders were always wrong, sometimes meat instead of tofu (vegetarian), the guacamole and pico and other toppings would be overwhelmed with onion. I stopped getting my Moe Monday deal for awhile. However over the past several weeks, I started trying it again and not only is my order right every time, everything tastes fresher and onions are no longer overpowering everything. I don't know if it was a change in staff or management or just quality control, but keep it up! Their queso really is liquid gold!! My only note there is when you get queso they should give you extra chips! The amount they give for salsa isn't enough for salsa and queso both. read more

This moes never follows the specials they have and try to charge you for everything they can. Everytime I go in for moes 7.99 Monday or 5.99 weds bowl or burrito they always say I can't use it and end up having to pay full price. How are they gonna have specials and never follow them. read more

Moe's Monday is our go-to for Monday lunch because it is such a great deal. $6.50 for a bowl/burrito, chips AND a 22 oz drink! Today, we got the adobo chicken bowl with potatoes instead of beans - good flavor. They have curbside pickup available as well as a pickup station inside. We use the pickup station and our food has always been ready on time so we are in and out in less than a minute. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite. The place was full, but the line ran very quickly. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty and fresh. I ordered the close talker salad with the new Adobo spicy chicken. I was surprised to find out that the Close Talker salad is reduced to only $6.49 on Wednesday's. Parking was a little bit of a pain, but for the most part it was worth the trip as my craving was satisfied. Love the bowl (Chicken, black beans ,brown rice, queso, pico, olives,lettuce and sour cream is my flavor!! But over the last few months it has become more and more skimpy with the ingredients. My go to is the home wrecker burrito with chicken. I also usually add on the queso which is pretty delicious. Service is good and fast when we have dined in. I'd come here just for the soda machine alone! It's the coolest one I've ever seen. It kind of reminds me of an old coke machine. It shows the various flavors and they look like old bottle caps. I've never seen so many flavors offered on a fountain before and when you choose the one you want sometimes even more choices pop onto the screen of even more flavors - cool! I'm not so big on the burritos, although they are very big and actually hard to finish in just one sitting. I recently tried a quesedilla and really, really enjoyed it!! Their queso cheese is also very good and comes in 2-3 sizes, so a little or alot! You really can't beat the salsa bar either. My favorite is the tomitilla. I have to admit it is very loud in here and when it's kids night - oy! It gets really LOUD! They have a different special just about every night where they offer something off the menu for a discounted price, which is always nice! read more

Listen, I have been to a lot of Moe's and on this particular night with this particular staff I had an amazing experience while ordering and through the checkout. The only reason I took away a star was that the dining area was not clean at all. I came on a Moe Monday and you always expect craziness but the staff were great! Came here last night because it's the only place open past 9pm. Staff was friendly and the food was pretty good but nothing spectacular. Overall, would eat at this moes again since the staff is so nice. I got the junior burrito with steak and Queso and my partner got 3 tacos. Great place for quick burritos, lines move extremely quick and the staff is efficient and friendly. As people finished eating the staff moved quickly to clean tables and sweep underneath. The restaurant stayed very clean! The music, however, is very loud and hard to talk over which is unusual for a fast food type place. I really hate to give this location such a low score. My family and I have been going to this location since it opened. I believe this location to have had the best employees and cooks throughout the years of any Moe's location, and I have eaten at many. Recently this location has hired new employees and while they are nice enough, they seem to refuse to wear their masks properly with several of the servers wearing them around their chin not covering either their mouth or nose. I understand masks are not the most enjoyable thing to wear, but it is for the protection of themselves as well as us the customers. My family goes to this location most Sundays following church and we will go there again this next weekend, but if the staff is still wearing their masks in this manner then we will let the manager know and go to another restaurant. read more

Most recently I ordered delivery through Uber Eats and was impressed with the punctuality, accuracy, and quality of the food I received. I even made a couple requests in the "notes" section and they were fulfilled with no issues, which created the best Earmuffs bowl I've tasted yet. read more

I had the Super Kingpin( vegetarian quesadilla). I was asked if I wanted black or pinto beans. The pinto beans looked good so I chose them. Everything seemed great until I had my first bite. The flour tortilla it was wrapped in felt like wet newspaper. Apparently, the beans were runny, the type of beans you'd use to drown white rice in. Good for rice. Bad for a quesadilla. I tried to eat it but clumps of beans, cheese, and mushrooms kept falling out. So I improvised and put all the quesadilla guts on top of the free chips they gave me. That's right. Tuesday at Moe's Kids eat free! We've been to this location a couple times on Tuesdays. The last visit, they had a balloon guy making animals, swords, and anything else that can a long baloon can be transformed into. Dozen rozes and a bee? Yes. Let's get to the important stuff. Cheese quesadilla for the kid. Very good. Their burrito was pretty good. Homewrecker for me. The nachos are pretty good there too. Their salsa selection is pretty sad. Chipotle salsa is a must IMO. I seriously debated giving Moe's 5 stars.... crazy? Perhaps. But you know what else is crazy? The niceness and efficiency of the staff at this Moe's. They are AWESOME. Lines move quickly. It's always the same people in there when I go at night, so they must have very little turnover. And they have practically memorized my order. So yeah, they are amazing! They get 6 stars. Moe's taste is still OK (but clearly NOT better than Chipotle). I love that they give free chips and salsa with your order. And Moe's soda-fountain-machine-from-the-future? Dependable Mexican fast-food. The menu is limited to burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, nachos, and salads in fried tortilla shells. Ingredients and salsas aren't particularly fresh, but it's speedy and it's filling. Prices are reasonable, especially if you order the daily special. Your order will come with a handful or two of tortilla chips on the side, but guacamole costs extra as a topping. If you're in the area or in a hurry for lunch, Moe's is an acceptable option. read more

I like that they have two sizes of burritos...a junior is still a bit big for me, but it works. The salsa bar is always interesting. Plenty of seats outside. This Moe's has excellent customer service. It is also clean and fast. So - I can dig it. The quality of food at a chain restaurant should never be an issue. We all know their chow comes ready-to-cook out of a bag or box - Hello, there isn't a chef in the back room chopping up chicken or churning out hand -made salsa. Even so, their food is consistently good. So, that is why I grade for customer service, speed of service and cleanliness. The guys and girls at Moe's do all of these things well. So I eat there. They also have a interesting soda machine that they smuggled from the FUTURE!! Seriously - it makes me want to drink more sodas and my iPhone has a crush on it. I only have two complaint. 1) It can sometimes be hard to find seating and parking. People - find another Moe's - THIS ONE IS MINE!! The outside pick-a-nick tables are usually open and a good choice if its not raining...or snowing...or zombie apocalypse-ing....ing. 2) I don't like it when the staff yells out "Welcome to Moe's". Sorry boys and girls, its like the old chalk board and finger nails trick. I hate it. Maybe you guys could tone it down and only do a "Welcome to Moe's" once a half hour.
