Close Talker Bowl (no shell)

We ordered pick-up. The food tasted great, but our order was missing several items. Pros: -easy online ordering -menu items are customizable with numerous options to pick from -vegetarian options -reasonable prices -flavorful, satisfying food -free chips and salsa Cons: -tofu was missing from my tofu bowl -chips were missing from my order Luckily we checked for the chips and went back inside to ask for them. The salsa, we learned that you get yourself from the salsa bar. I did not realize the tofu was missing from my order until we got home. My order still tasted great and the chips and salsa were good. We may return again but would have to check our order before leaving the restaurant.

I've always liked to Moe's, it's cheap for the amount of food get, and it seems to be fairly fresh. The choice of sauces is usually pretty good, and the chips are always fresh and served warm. I only gave this location 3 stars because it seemed that every table had not been cleaned in a very long time. And the bathroom was downright disgusting. You would think during a time of a pandemic that they would do a better job of cleaning the place!

My DoorDash order at Moe's

Ok, so I love the food from Moe's and have never had a bad experience until this evening. I ordered two tacos and a junior burrito, with no chips. I'm speechless. The only reason it's not one star because it seems that they were busy because my DoorDasher was waiting for my order for a while...but also that's surprising to me because it's just a bag of chips...speechless...

Typical Moe's experience. Long line moves pretty fast. Nobody is overly friendly, but you order it your way and watch them get it right. On Mondays the Home-wrecker is the special with a drink and as always free chips and salsa for $7 with tax. Too much food. You can ask for your chips in a bag to go even if you're eating in. This particular Moe's isn't the most convenient one to enter from the road and at 12:45pm on a Monday I had to stalk a person to get a parking spot. This Moe's is pretty clean and still looks newish. It delivered, just what I expected, and that was $7 worth of Americanized Mexican food and decent unsweetened iced tea or Northern Tea as they call it. Too bad I only got one cup of it as I drained the container to get the first one. They were making more when I left, but they were making only sweet tea. Sorry, lost a star for that.

The excellent thing about Chuy's there is always leftovers for the next meal tomorrow. I ordered the chili relleno enchilada plate, the granddaughter ordered the kids chicken taco, chicken and cheese nothing else, and my wife ordered the green chili enchilada plate. Service was quick, and the plates and food were hot. It was a busy family Friday night. So, everything was fine. I have lived in NC for 15 years now, and my Texas taste buds for hot foods are cooling way down. I use to think Chuy's was mild, but now everything is warm spice wise. Not, overpowering just a lot more spicery than I remember. This not a criticism of Chuy's just that my taste buds have changed. A problem of aging again. My granddaughter ate her tacos and my wife says her green chili chicken enchiladas were delicious. I enjoyed my dinner.

We were seated without a reservation on a busy Saturday night, and the hostess was kind and really intentional about making sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious and came out quickly. My one piece of feedback is to skip the basic margaritas and choose your own tequila. Our server didn't seem very familiar with the drink menu--when I asked for a spicy margarita, I was brought "The OG," which wasn't spicy and had something in it that just didn't work for me. I switched to a margarita with Casamigos mezcal and it was amazing. Overall, a solid spot in Fenton for good food, especially if you're with a group. Bonus points for letting us linger a bit longer to wait out a rainstorm with another round.

(I like that there is an outdoor dining space that gives you a view of Fenton's green space and movie theatre crowd.) In spite of all this, I think I may have ordered the wrong items perhaps. This was my first visit and I did not research the most popular items. As a consequence, my chicken fajitas were just average compared to other places I've dined and my daughter's crunchy chicken tacos were ok. I would visit again but would definitely try a different entree.

I usually rotate between the tacos, enchiladas, and molcajetes, and while the tacos themselves are just okay, the overall experience is solid. The fresh chips are easily some of the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant (warm and crisp). Add queso to those chips and it really seals the deal. They more than make up for the tacos being a bit underwhelming and are honestly reason enough to come back. This is a great neighborhood spot if you're looking for authentic flavors, generous portions, and excellent chips and dips (biggest downside is no liquor aka no margaritas). Not every dish is a knockout, but the highlights keep it comfortably in 4-star territory.

I was really one mayonnaise filled torta away from missing out on my favorite Mexican restaurant of Cary. The food is some of the freshest and most authentic in the area, and is consistently spot on. Forget heavy burritos or overly sauced enchiladas, this place is the real deal. When you come to Esmeralda Grill, you should really focus on the meat heavy dishes, whether it be via land or sea. There are so many different options to choose from, from both categories. When thinking seafood, expect the full fish. If you find yourself with the fresh grilled tilapia, you will receive a delicious whole fish that tastes as if it was caught that morning. It is such a fantastic option. I also appreciate the camarones a la diabla, or Diablo shrimp. The shrimp are plump and juicy, the spice of the dish is excites your taste buds and is a great dish. My favorite entrees are the land meat dishes though. El Trio Perfecto is my go-to order, it is grilled steak, chicken and pork all on one plate with rice, beans, salad, and tortillas. The Mexican spice rub on the meats is absolutely mouth watering, the flavors are so bold and tasty. The meats are all cooked to perfection and the portions are gigantic. You can make different tacos with the various meats, it is seriously one of my favorite Mexican dishes. I would highly recommend this! Additionally, Esmeralda Grill has so many other wonderful dishes for different flavor profiles. My grandparents are pretty particular about empanadas, but simply cannot get enough of Esmeralda's version. They also make some killer tacos, and some very affordable ones if you were to come on Tuesday! The moral of the story? Don't base your opinion of a restaurant after a single visit. You don't come across a fantastic hole in the wall every day, Esmeralda Grill is one that every Mexican food lover should know!

The décor is exactly what you'd expect: bold colors, festive patterns, enough sombreros on the walls to outfit a small parade, and at least one plastic cactus that looks mildly judgmental. Servers weave through the chaos like Olympic athletes, mariachi music battles the sound of sizzling fajitas, and somehow your food always arrives piping hot even though the entire place looks one guacamole shortage away from full meltdown. The menu is less a menu and more a novella--pages upon pages of every dish you've ever heard of and at least twelve you definitely haven't. It's a laminated labyrinth where every combo comes with three other combos, and the options multiply the longer you stare at them. By the time you reach page six, you're questioning your own identity and whether you even remember what you wanted in the first place. It's overwhelming, and just a little suspicious--because no kitchen should be able to make that many things unless they've unlocked some sort of culinary time dilation. The server sort of has your attention when it's time to order entrées--they hover just long enough for you to say your piece before disappearing back into the restaurant's gravitational swirl. But once the food is delivered, they become nearly impossible to spot, like they've slipped into a parallel dimension where diners can't see them. Trying to wave them down for anything--napkins, a refill, a moment of acknowledgment--turns into a full-scale quest. The food is classic, predictable Mexican-restaurant fare--perfectly fine, nothing mind-blowing, the kind of dishes that taste exactly how you expect because they've been made the same way since forever. Not bad, not great, just reliably 'yep, that's food. Cheers!
