I can't say enough good things about coming to Joy at Modesty Electrology! My hair removal process involved so many things in the past... like Lazer, tweezing and waxing! When I started coming to Joy for electrolysis...it was the best decision I could have made! I feel so good after my treatments. My hair is almost completely gone! My skin is so soft and even toned now. My only regret is that I waited so long to start this process! Joy is very sweet, very kind and knows what she is doing! read more

I'm so glad I decided on this location to get electrology done! Joy was friendly, warm, and patient throughout the entire experience. She's extremely knowledgeable and gave me all the information I needed during our phone consultation so that I was sure that I wanted to continue with the treatment. Even though she's got quite a long waitlist, I knew after our call that I wanted her to be my electrologist, no matter how long it took. When I finally came into the office for my appointment, she took her time to educate me on the hair cycle and why it can take multiple treatments to permanently remove the hair in any given area. She made it easy for me to understand and I was fascinated by the entire process. She was gentle throughout my treatment. I was a bit nervous about the pain level, but most of the time, it just felt like a tiny little pinch - nothing intolerable at all. After she was done, I looked in the mirror and was amazed. I didn't expect it to look so good! I also wasn't expecting the hair to be removed right then and there. For some reason, I thought the hairs would fall out over the next day or two, but when she showed me the hairs she had removed, I was stunned. I'm so happy with my results and I can't wait to see Joy for my next appointment! read more

I started with Modesty Electrology because IPL wasn't for me. What a difference working with Joy was, she wasn't there to sell me an expensive treatment package that might work, instead she educated me on the hair removal process and by the end of our consultation I was confident in her services. Electrolysis doesn't work overnight but with regular visits I am happy to say that I have the results I wanted. Joy creates a spa-like atmosphere and I always enjoy our sessions as she always leaves me laughing. read more

I love Modesty! Joy goes over everything before your first session so that you're well informed of the procedure and outcome. She is patient, thorough, and considerate. Joy is gentle as can be. She is a pro- you will be in good hands. I saw results in just a handful of sessions. Both me and a family member are happy with our progress. I've not waxed/plucked/shaved in close to 2 years- it's heaven. The work area is private, clean, and comfy with good tunes. Modesty is a judgement-free zone. You will feel comfortable and safe with Joy. She works on most areas of the body. If you're here, it's because you know electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal (AMA & FDA). You may need a few details as to how it all works, and Joy can provide you with that, and you can ask any other questions you've not found online with a *free* consultation. Do it! Get rid of that pesky hair. Take the plunge, you won't regret it. read more

I'm so grateful for the professional and effective treatment that Joy has provided me. She is the first electrologist in my 40 years of receiving treatment for my chin hairs, who explained how the electrolysis process works, including the cycle of hair growth and how to destroy it. I initially saw her every week for an hour and now, about 1 1/2 years later, I see her every 3 weeks for 1/2 hour. My hairs have gone from dark, long, dense and coarse to light, short, soft and few and far between. Joy is knowledgeable, caring and always responsive to my requests and questions. read more

I started coming to Joy a little over a year now. I had dark, course hairs on my chin and upper lip and some on my neck and side of my face. It was so embarrassing. Within the first few months I noticed a difference. The hairs became less and less and those that were still there, were becoming softer and lighter. Fast forward to now and I only have a few that pop up that I need to see her to take care of. I couldn't be more pleased. I no longer have to worry about being out and having someone noticing a nice, black hair that seemed to come from nowhere. It has made me more confident. Joy is very professional and personable. Her business is very clean and comfortable. I recommend Modesty Electrology for anyone wanting to get rid of embarrassing body hair. read more

This is my first time doing Electrology and I was both nervous because I did not know what to expect and excited to finally start my journey into removing my unwanted and embarrassing PCOS facial hair. My first impression when arriving to Modesty Electrology was that it was a very welcoming and professional looking environment. It was very clean and there were even complimentary beverages and snacks. Also, as soon as I came in, I was greeted and acknowledged in a kind and professional manner. For my consultation, Joy explained Electrology, the science behind it, the realistic expectations, and was able to answer all questions thoroughly. She was very transparent, professional, kind, and a joy to be around. She is a very approachable and great person. Her customer service and communication as well as care in the process of providing treatment was exceptional and well above standard. In regard to the treatment, she provided different pretreatment options such as numbing cream and after care treatments. During the actual electrolysis treatment, she kept checking in on me and she did an amazing job. My face looked way better than I thought it would after the treatment. I was very pleased. Also, prior to even going to my appointment, Joy communicated very effectively via Yelp message and text. I waited about two months for my first appointment but it was definitely work it. She has a waitlist for a reason.... I did my research and she is amazing! I am very happy that I waited to begin my journey with Joy. I am confident that I am in good hands and I can't wait to see how the process goes. Joy was very patient with me and my communication style as it can come off as abrasive without it being intentional. She is very patient, communicated professionally, and is very accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend Joy and Modesty Electrology. I would give 10 stars if I could. read more

Joy is the best. Extremely happy with my treatments. She makes you feel comfortable, the ambiance is so relaxing.

I look forward to coming here every two weeks. I've been coming here for a little over a year now and have nearly no facial hair to show for it. I come in to get rid of the few strays and peach fuzz but that's all, consistency is really key. Well that and having an amazingly thorough and talented Electrologist. If you're looking for someone who is exceptional at what they do and genuinely kind, look no further. I can not recommend her enough. read more

Joy is amazing. She is providing electrolysis for me, my daughter, and two granddaughters with great results. I highly recommend her!

I have nothing but nice things to say about Joy. I always look forward to my appointments with her because she's so great to talk to, and she's amazing at what she does! Joy is very thorough, and I feel like I don't have to give her much direction because she's just that detail-oriented. I'm VERY particular when it comes to my brows because they're the focal point of my face, and I've never been disappointed with Joy's work. My brows always look absolutely amazing after a session with her. Joy even gives these little containers of product to apply after the appointment which smell SO good! She asks a lot of questions to see what works and what doesn't work for me, and she changes the aftercare process accordingly to suit my skin's needs. Not to mention, she's also very gentle and makes sure you're comfortable the whole time. Honestly, Joy is great. Book an appointment with her - I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

Joy is an absolute professional. I had electrolysis for nearly a year with another service provider and saw very little improvement, more importantly I never felt anything during the treatments. I never actually felt any type of shock or pain, that should have been a red flag. I did not hold a wand & although I was quite consistent with weakly 1 hour treatments, the hair never seemed to change. After my consultation with Joy, I realized why the treatments had been ineffective. I was so impressed with Joy's knowledge and although the former provider claimed to have decades of experience, Joy was so much more professional. She takes photos throughout the months, so that clients can actually see progress. She has explained to me how my facial hair has changed through the process and how the treatment changes to suit my needs. Please do you homework before choosing an electrologist, I would probably would have been done by now, had I chosen Joy in the first place. read more

I highly recommend seeing Joy at Modesty Electrology!! I first reached out to her after frustrating years of unwanted neck and face hair that I had to daily tweeze.
