I could not be happier with the experience. If you need physical therapy, you need to call these people. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated. What's more, they really care. What they did for me was nothing short of amazing, and I will be forever grateful. I also spent quite a bit of time there and watched them interact with other patients, so I know my experience was not a unique one. Now that I have your attention, let me share some details of my experience. Those may resonate with you if you're in a similar situation. Or you could just call them and book an appointment now. First, a little bit about me. I'm an extreme introvert and am usually content to just deal with a health problem because it's easier to ignore it than to pick up the phone and have an awkward conversation with a stranger. It doesn't make sense, but that's me. My injury was to the rotator cuff in my right shoulder. It was a bad one, and I ignored it for years. Circa 2008, I went to a White Sox game, had a few beers (and then a few more), and got talked into throwing a baseball in one of those radar gun booths to see how fast I could throw. The warm throb in my shoulder afterwards was not a good sign. The following morning when I bent down to tie my shoes it felt like my shoulder fell out of the socket - probably a worse sign. Eventually I couldn't even put my right hand on top of my head. Over the next year, I ignored it and started doing things left-handed. It kind of healed, flaring up occasionally and still causing pain at the extents of my motion. Most of the mobility came back. Then in early 2022, I aggravated it again bowling. My journey with Emery Physical Therapy began with a search that is likely similar to the one you're doing now. I went to my doctor, I got an X-Ray and an MRI and was then told to, "find someone local who does physical therapy". As bad as my shoulder was, I was skeptical that physical therapy could help. I looked at Yelp and Google. I did a search on the site of my insurance company. I read all kinds of reviews. It's embarrassing, but as I said before, I hate making those calls. I dreaded it. I put it off. When I finally called, a sweet voice (Jennifer) answered the phone. I remember asking if they did shoulders. I was awkward. I had a long story. I didn't even know how to start that conversation. She took my information, and we exchanged some documents via text and email. That experience could not have been easier and put me at ease for the first appointment. In the first meeting, I met Jennifer from the phone and also the other Jen (Laube) who would be my physical therapist. She assessed my shoulder and asked me some questions. At this point my shoulder was a mess. I could put my left thumb behind my back and up between my shoulder blades, but I couldn't even get my right hand behind my butt. Coats, shirts, and backpacks had to go on right arm first. Reaching for my phone on the nightstand was painful as was lifting the covers. I certainly couldn't throw anything. My goal was to have a functional right shoulder that I could use without pain, to be able to play catch with a football with my son, and maybe even to be able to bowl again (although that seemed unfathomable in February). Over the next 4 months I saw Jen twice a week. In the beginning, she taught me exercises to regain the range of motion in my shoulder. She taught me how to NOT sleep on it. She and the rest of the crew patiently worked with me to make sure I was doing all the exercises correctly (and admittedly, I was not great at them). Gradually the range came back. When I started, I'd stretch to the edge of discomfort (further would have caused pain and she told me many times "If it hurts, don't do it!"). By the end, there was no pain at all at the end of those stretches. Then we moved on to strengthening. New exercises! Toward the end of strengthening, she taught me how to NOT re-injure myself. She re-taught me how to throw a tennis ball. Apparently, I had been doing it wrong for over 40 years. I not only learned how to do it right, but my accuracy quickly improved. Then she re-taught me how to throw a football. You guessed it, I'd been doing that wrong too. In one 10-minute session in the parking lot, I went from throwing wobblers to some decent spirals. Then this past weekend, the impossible happened, I bowled 2 games pain-free with a 14lb ball. We made it all happen! Today was my last day of physical therapy, and while I'm ecstatic with my progress, I'm actually a little sad. I'm going to miss this team. They're really great people and did a fantastic job for me. I can only hope that this review will encourage others in need of physical therapy to reach out and give them a chance to help.

I came into the program with absolutely no hope for the future or idea of who I was, unable to function on a daily basis or even leave my bed. I was defeated, running out of options and hope that I could possibly feel even a tiny bit better. I had absolutely zero faith that Suncloud could change how I was feeling and how I had felt for 24 years of my life. On my first day, I was met with the warmest and most welcoming milieu of individuals, peers and staff, who were also working through their own personal battles. The community was a crucial, if not the most important, aspect of my time at Suncloud. I never once felt judged, instead encouraged, to be vulnerable, honest, and real with peers and staff. They have a rotating number of highly trained and educated staff who are attentive, intelligent, caring, and compassionate. Their staff go above and beyond to ensure community members are heard, seen, and constructively challenged. Programming is intensive and comprehensive, providing important insights from staff and peers. Facilitators and staff at Suncloud are constantly ensuring that everyone in the room feels heard, seen, and comfortable. We were encouraged to participate and apply the material to ourselves while also maintaining awareness for our peers processing as well. Vulnerability was wholeheartedly celebrated and accepted. While doing intensive and often draining work for majority of the day, there were also ample opportunities for recreational down time as well as aspects of programming like experiential cooking, walks, yoga (and Minnow!), weekend outings, and art therapy that allowed us to stay engaged while having a bit of a break. I cannot recommend this place enough. For that depressed, hopeless and lost person I thought I'd always be -- I am forever grateful that I don't feel like her anymore. I would not be where I am in my healing journey now without my time here. This all would not have been possible had I not came to Suncloud. We all grew together. Other than the fact that I've been able to remain sober I was unaware as were the medical…read moreprofessionals that when you've overprescribed benzodiazepine for years and years chances are you will have brain damage and detoxing from those medications is not something that should ever be done in five days, it should always be at least two years if you're on such a high dosage because of another Criminally NEGLIGENT Psychiatrist that prescribes their patients or at least prescribed me 14 mg of Xanax a day as well as 6 mg of Ativan per day. I didn't know that benzodiazepine's can actually cause brain damage to the point where you could get so bad you might as well be diagnosed with dementia then in there. Thank God, I'm not there yet, but I will be because of that medication being prescribed to me without ever being given any informed consent whatsoever. I know that is not specific to SunCloud and the staff or the residential facility but let's get there now... More people commit suicide after being tapered from benzodiazepine because of "protracted withdrawal" that makes actual detox seem like a cakewalk. They should be using the Ashton manual and I don't even think they have any clue what it is and that's pathetic. They do not treat their patients at least most of their patients very well, and there's no respect from the staff to the people they are getting treatment and paying them. My therapist, I think her name is Kelly was horrible and my psychiatrist whose name I don't remember, but doesn't really matter. Was someone who refused to even listen or entertain anything that he didn't think of himself. I have spoken with some of the most qualified professionals in the world as well as attorneys regarding not just this specific Stay but other issues caused by the benzos being prescribed for so long in such high dosage is, but also because of how tapering over five days isn't taping it's torture it just gets you out of the woods from having a seizure and possibly dying. After that you might have a few good weeks and then you're stuck in FIGHT flight or freeze, your cognitive function is basically gone. You could be in the middle of doing something so important and all of a sudden forget what it was completely and never remember what it was. You were doing until someone remind you that you didn't do what you were supposed to do. They are very obsessed with the their leftist liberal views, and make sure to let anyone who is white know that they are not in anyway, as safe at the treatment center as a person of Color and I experienced that daily because we had one man who happens to be black, he was sexually harassing multiple women daily, and instead of doing anything about it and either kicking him out or at least giving him some sort of consequences we had to attend meetings and BiPAP groups to try to understand why it is that we didn't want to treat this guy like he should be treated when in normal life or out in the real world if someone was doing that to you, the best thing to do is call the police. That's all I have to say because I'm just angry again. I would also like to point out that I just looked through the photos shared by the "owner "of SunCloud and let me tell you that group room that has all those chairs doesn't exist. I mean the room exist, but it's full of deflated beanbags with holes in them and a couch and a loveseat. We had over 25 adult adults living in this treatment center when I was there and with all the staff and the patients we couldn't fit. It was just sad and uncomfortable, and then people were getting in trouble for touching when it was simply impossible not to be actually touching each other because there was no room for any of us. So the photos might make it look a little bit better than it does, but don't expect to see that when you show up. Maybe in the new building that opened while I was there but I am just feeling sick over all this again. This is not a place to go if you're looking to get sober, if you have an eating disorder and you want to truly recover... The nutritionist are wonderful, but The Therapy and The people who are really in charge of your treatment plan suck. I'm sober and my eating disorder is at times fully active and at times under control. I'm still in therapy with a incredible person and I go to AA meetings as well as I finally have a psychiatrist who prescribes based on what is safe healthy, and make sure informed consent is given to me. Don't unless you have to go to the specific treatment center subject yourself to this because it's horrible.

The communication at this place is horrible. The communication between doctors, hospitals and…read morenurses is one thing because it's different parties and I understand that it's not all coordinated by the rehab center. However, I will focus on direct communication between the family and the rehab center. It is hard to get a hold of anyone at times. There was times that I called and the phone rang for 10 minutes straight. Or I asked to speak to the patients nurse... and waited for 10 minutes and transferred then waited and transferred again... to be told by the receptionist to call back. The nurses and CNAS for the most part are kind and caring. I'm very appreciative of them. It's the service and management of the rehab center that's not satisfying I understand and empathize with the busy nurses, however rehab centers are a for profit business. This one in particular is. Customer service in this kind of business, revolves around effective communication with the patients family. Both in the rehab center and on the phone. People work and it's important that they feel informed of their family members well being and progress at all times. I did not feel that way at all. Even at Sunday discharge, the prescriptions weren't given with valid quantities....Which we didn't discover until at home...with less then a days worth of medication left. Something that would have been great if anyone had noticed before discharge... or if we were given the prescriptions to fill ahead of time. Something has got to change with regard to keeping patients families involved and informed.

I had problems with range of motion, frozen tibia, etc. that could have been prevented if someone at Aspire cared. After my poor previous review, the head of Aspire/PT did call me to apologize but also defended that this was not typical. Well, if someone had cared enough to look into my complaints when I first called we wouldn't have needed a poor review. I suffered the results, not Aspire, even with my poor review.
