Having said, I was on major opioids for last 28 years up until 2 months when Cristina Gonzalez at From Pain to Wellness kicked me out of the practice for one of the meds I was on not showing in my urine. Just like that, after 28 years of opioids, 13 years of being seeing by the same pain management clinic.. that was it! Kicked to the curb with no help, no suggestion on where to go , what to do... Frankly, my first thoughts were very dark - wasnt sure if life was worth living. Was worried about withdrawals.. more importantly how in the HELL does a Dr prescribe 300mg of oxy a day and then say " adios.... Hope you figure it out.... ". Well Cristina, the joke is on you b/c Ive never been better. All thanks to Dr Oyasu of ModernMed. For those out there who are looking for support.. maybe youve experienced a similar situation with a rigid personality nurse practitioner. Whatever it is, please know that it's gonna be ok! In Fact, your life is gonna get better..... Dr Oyasu of ModernMed is a Demi god! His regular job is that of an emergency room physician yet he decided to open ModernMed to support people like me, who got caught up in an opioid cycle. All this b/c his heart was breaking for all the types of people coming into his ER for opioid treatment / withdrawal . my first apt was to discuss my plan in how I was going to get off 300 mg / day of OXY basically cold turkey without ruining my life, my marriage, my job. Dr sat down with me to come up with a plan. He prescribed a handful of medications in which I was super scared yet OMG I had ZERO withdrawals.... I maybe felt a little crummy for a few hours, maybe a day and that was it..... withdrawals over! Folks... you DONT have to spend 100k on some fancy rehab. You just need a really good Dr! Here we are.... Almost two months later... weve had to tweak a few of the meds yet I'm on my way to being fully done w/ opioids and the best part is that I've never felt better - i feel strong, alert, happy, my brain is working in ways it hasnt in decades... I can't explain it but it's exciting . I feel like my brain is coming to life! I hope this helps someone out there! Whoever u are... whoever needs help... Dr Oyasu is waiting for u with open arms to help you see the light. Opioids suck! It's a never ending ticket to nowhere. At Pain to Wellness I spent $500 a month with insurance just to come in to do regular refill apt. Just think , that's $6000 back in my pocket! Maybe I'll spend that money on a trip to Africa, maybe Europe.. Best part is that I won't be jaded on opioids... I'm free!!!!!

This crook kept me for an additional day at the hospital because he said a Dr. had reported they heard me making statements indicating I was homicidal. I was not even suicidal much less homicidal. He was trying to railroad a mental health nurse to inpatient care because I guess maybe he was behind on his car payments. He asked me three times during the first interview what I did for a living. You think he would remember if someone told him they were a mental health RN but not this genius. I was in for pain and CMH did a mental health screen and cleared me. Then the NP later told me since Mark assessed me he could override the CMH recommendation. Of course they did not tell me this prior to seeing this liar. I will never step foot back in a McLaren as a patient. I will be going to Munson in Gaylord or Traverse city. I find it hard to believe this guy has so many good reviews, I question the veracity of these reviews. They cannot possibly be real. He provided substandard clinical performance with clearly questionable medical judgement and honesty to be frank. He was dismissive of my statements and he talked at me more than to me trying to build his BS case for homicidal ideation. He lacked professional conduct as his approach to medicine was highly questionable and unprofessional, he actually called me a liar when I denied homicidal ideation and told him he was a quack. He yelled it as the nurse was pulling the monitor away from my bed. His dismissive attitude and unprofessional conduct compromised the patient-physician relationship. It was all BAD, it is as simple as that. I honestly cannot say one good thing about him. I only saw him twice but he made and cancelled multiple appointments throughout the day and I saw him LATE. UNACCEPTABLE! Even my nurse said he was horrible. The NP that was caring for me overrode this MOMO's recommendation and I was discharged to home at the end of the second day on the trauma floor. I have patients on the behavioural health unit I work on tell me that ER nurses and doctors as well as psychiatrists and CMH screeners lie about what they say all the time, I was skeptical regarding this possibility but now I know this definitely happens. What is way more common though is the patients telling me that ER staff tell them they can either get out after 72 hours or they can leave whenever they want. Then once they get on the unit they find out the truth. This is exactly what happened to me. I was told I would leave the next day after a MRI was performed but this was not the case. This experience has made me change my specialty in nursing as I refuse to work for a behavioural health unit, I do not want to be any part of the broken mental health system in this country. You have been warned.

This was my first time coming to this center and getting a full body massage. From the moment I stepped into the center, I immediately felt calm, soothed and welcomed. The entire center has an element theme. There's a room named air, fire, earth, wind and water. There's dimly lit lighting, the scent of incense in the air, crystals all around, and soothing music playing. My massage therapist was Kristine. She was very friendly and put me at ease right away. I took a minute to fill out a new patient sheet and she discussed any medical conditions or anything that I wanted to focus on. She gave me a tour of the center and then we began my treatment. The raindrop treatment was awesome! She dropped (8), I think, essential oils down my spine, then covered them with a warm damp towel and let them soak in, meanwhile she began my massage. Kristine was excellent!!! She always made sure that I was comfortable and that nothing was too painful. The raindrop treatment helped to loosen up my muscles and also acts as a detox. It was very refreshing, even though I smelled like a "pizza" after wards. Haha...I think one of the oils was oregano. I had my massage yesterday and today I actually feel pretty darn good. I've been in constant pain the past 2 weeks due to fibromyalgia, and the massage and raindrop treatment truly helped me! I can't wait until my next treatment! Overall, this place is awesome. My health is a mess because I have waited so long. They do not offer the services that they say they do! I am devastated. I feel as though I have been victimized again, by Family Services of the North Shore. Clearly, my wellbeing is unimportant to them. Meanwhile, my ex-boyfriend, a psychopath is likely scouting out new victims to abuse and con. He abused and assaulted almost all of his exes. He needs to be held accountable and I need to recover. THIRTEEN MONTHS OF WAITING for help is unacceptable!
