After going to 3 other speech clinics that wasn't helping my daughter, I took her here and got the…read morecorrect, precise assessment done. For the past 10 months we've worked with Andrea and Kelsey. My daughter says words with sounds she wasn't able to do before. She also has so much fun. The sessions are engaging and the toys are always different so it motivates her to target goals. From what I've seen, all the therapist are super positive and ready to jump in and WORK HARD. The SLP's use every moment as an opportunity to help target my daughter's speech goals. At first I didn't think 30 minutes would be enough time. Nope, I was wrong. Without Andrea and Kelsey's expertise, my daughter wouldn't be saying the words she says now. I've been with other clinics with my other children too. Speech Point really is a top notch clinic. I have to add: The owner is really nice and easy to talk to. She's busy doing assessments all the time but she'll make time to chat when requested. Just ask. Courtney and Temika are on top of the scheduling and behind the scenes tasks. They always respond via text, email or by phone. I had a mild stutter for basically my whole life. I was always fluent enough to basically get by in…read moremost situations, but my stutter was bad enough to lead to major embarrassment in high-stress social situations or public speaking situations. I reached out to Mark because my stutter was starting to get worse and I'm really glad I did. The program I went through with Mark really helped me become more fluent. In July, I finally forced myself to attend a meeting and I am so glad I did! I've been attending Surf City Speak-n-Lead Toastmasters for about 6 weeks now and I've already learned quite a bit. This group's friendly, warm, and safe environment has helped me begin to build confidence in myself and my words without judgment, ridicule or criticism. The critiques are encouraging and is helping me develop into a stronger speaker. As a writer, words come easily, but voicing them out loud always has been an issue. I struggle especially with impromptu speaking and this group helps in not only prepared speeches but also improv speaking skills. The members go out of their way to make you feel genuinely welcome as well as help you with any questions and advice. Meetings are very well organized and the food is surprisingly good (I'm not typically a fan of restaurants like IHOP). I actually look forward to Wednesday nights every week and am excited to continue to learn and grow my skills with the help of this club.

The meeting was exceptionally well-organized; it was fully set up 30 minutes before start time, everyone came prepared with their roles, and the evaluations were detailed and constructive. Coach Asha helped me get together my interp events pretty last minute and I managed to qualify top 15 in California for nationals or NSDA (with a main event of dramatic interpretation). Also, throughout the season I got some specific technical feedback from Coach Shante which really helped me hone in my performance. While Coach Chris helped me get my DI up early in the season which led to me placing fourth at Peninsula. Additionally, Coach Janiel is mostly always at tournaments and gives a killer warm-up that really energizes me and my peers as well as give us a confidence boost admits the inevitable nerves. Furthermore, Coach Forrest and Coach Anna are really good with the younger students as they helped laid a solid foundation for my speech and debate skills going forward. I really started learning public speaking starting with them! And Coach Robert is great at platform events and is extremely detailed in his feedback. In addition, there are Coaches Kavya and Christine that I heard great things about from other peers but haven't worked with them too personally. With QD Learning I've been able to travel to Minneapolis for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions and Arizona for the National Speech and Debate Association/ Competition as well as local tournaments around the area. In anyways I totally recommend them and have won a lot more tournaments than mentioned. However, the most special part about the QD Learning is the amazing process and journey that it takes you through as you make lifelong connections and work with amazing national champion coaches that take the time to understand your needs.
