We got our roof done during busy rainy season, so picking a date was a challenge. The project itself went well. On the first day of the tear down, I was surprised how fast and efficient the team worked. By the end of the day, roofing materials were already delivered, damaged plywood replaced and underlayment installed. They finished the project exactly on time, as they said they would. My experience was so fantastic. I want to share all of the details. First of all, this is the second time I've had to purchase a new roof in the last 10 years. I won't mention names, but the first time I went with one of the big box stores. I was not very satisfied with the entire experience. I will leave it at that. Reno's roofing has it down perfectly. I had the good luck to be referred to Lee Yosef and family owned AAA Roofing company. A few weeks ago, during an early winter storm I had the homeowners nightmare of a leaking roof. Being a 21st Century kind of guy Lee went directly to Google Earth and looked up my roof and was able to assess the situation....one that I had not considered....I have a roof full of solar panels. Oops I forgot about those. He advised me that I would need to have the section of the panels in the area of the leak removed so he could come out and troubleshoot the roof, find the leak and repair it. He knew I didn't need a new roof, he knew that I live in Venice Beach and his office is in Calabasas, and he knew it was coming up on a holiday weekend. Remember this is likely not going to be a huge job and the owner of the company saying that he will be coming himself. Nevertheless he put me on his schedule the Monday morning after the holiday. At this point his office manager and wife Anita took over. We texted back and forth frequently always keeping me in the loop. She helped me coordinate with my solar company so everything could be done at the same time. This is a family business and even though we had never met or done business before I felt a personal touch that is not usually the norm. Monday after the holiday weekend Lee arrives as scheduled, spends over an hour on my roof, and finds the source of the leak. He doesn't try to upsell me, or schedule one of his assistants to come back another day to repair what he found. He heads back down to his truck, grabs materials, goes back up to the roof, makes the needed repairs. I ask him if I can give him a check to pay for the work and he says something to the effect: "That's Ok, no charge." Now I'm not saying that Lee and AAA Roofing in Calabasas works for free, but for a company to go out of their way to help a homeowner make sure that a little problem does not turn into a big problem says more than I can adequately express. I definitely would not recommend this roofing company. I had to use them as I was using Lowe's…read morefinancing and they are the contractors for my area. Bumble was very confident with their sales pitch at our first meeting. Unfortunately however, the first installation was defective and I started noticing bubbling and uneven shingles after a month of them completing the installation. They sent back another foreman to fix the installation which they admitted was defective due to my roof's steep pitch. Our roof does have a steep pitch but I asked numerous times before the install if they were familiar with this type of pitch and they confidently assured me each time and assured me that they had sent their best foreman for the job. Another foreman came back a second time to fix the install, completely removing everything down to the wood on one portion of the house and now a month later I am noticing more unevenness that either wasn't fixed the second time at all or fixed incorrectly. At least they are coming back to fix it but it's concerning that it's taking numerous times to fix and I wonder what under the shingles look like! I am not confident that it was done correctly if what I can see is all wrong. I'd definitely seek another roofing company.
