My mother went there to get a pedicure. They didn't even communicate with her. They didn't even listen to what she had to say, and they made her bleed and cut her nails too much and they were too rough on her. read more

Clean place and friendly staff. The price is right and the woman I had was very efficient. I will go there again for sure! read more

Very clean; nice staff Huge selection of colors and services for a good price. Nice workers. Clean place.

Lee is such a peach! So friendly and juggles many a client at once. My daughter favored this place years ago before she moved to Florida and I booked my second ever appointment here for a gel fill. I'm no where near a nail connoisseur of nails but he did an amazing job and I will definitely be back! Prices were very reasonable. read more

This is the best and the cheapest manicure I've had in Burlington! I had a gel fill and nail art. I highly recommend this place! read more

I came in today hoping to fix a manicure I had done elsewhere. Rose did an amazing job on my new nails. She gave me exactly what I wanted!

They did such a wonderful job on both my hands and feet! Even though they were technically closed they worked last time to accommodate me and make sure I got all the services I wanted. The place is so clean and they are so nice! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

If I ask for certain things in my nails, that's what I should get. Not what "you think I'll like". Nails came right off within a few days: not too happy read more

Always does such a great job on full sets, doesn't rush and makes sure you're happy with them. Can't find another place that does it better!! Jack and rose are so friendly and helpful, if you make an appointment you don't have to wait unlike other places. read more

First experience at Modern Nails, I got both a mani and a pedi. I started with the pedi and the massage chair was awesome. The massage lotion smelled like Icy Hot (not relaxing) and the water for the rinse was scorching hot but the pedicure itself was well done. As the salon filled with customers, the manicure was rushed; finger nail lengths are all over the place and uneven; not well buffed. The French manicure tips are lopsided on many fingers. I will skip the mani if I ever return. The prices were not clearly posted and the receipt was not itemized. The tip had to be in cash. When I asked for change for a twenty, so I could leave a tip, I was given two $10s; I felt like I was being pressured into tipping more than my preference. read more

Went for a pedicure today and decided to try out this new place. Not only is this new salon nice and clean (with great light), but the perk for me was this was the first salon in the Burlington area I have been to that has the clean, sanitary utensils packaged up and new to use for every customer. In addition, we were told other things files, etc. are a one use only. This is the way it should be and the price was great. I felt we were not rushed and they took their time, it was a great experience. read more

By far the most sanitary nail salon in Vermont. Super clean, not dusty or smell like chemical. Lots of color options. Beautiful designs. Friendly staff. Accommodating. Exceptional services. Ps. They do not do acrylic, which I think is great cuz acrylic makes the whole place smell like chemical. read more

Jack and Rose are simply the best! They are always are friendly and do a fantastic job. All the utensils are sterile and individually packaged. You are never rushed and encouraged to take your time and relax. It is the only place to get the best pedi and mani read more

Very friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff. I booked a mani-pedi for three and enjoyed a somewhat simultaneous service. If not for the people being so nice I think I would rate the actual service as a three star for the following reasons: 1. Collectively between the three of us the feet were not scrubbed and 2. Cuticles not removed completely. At the end we left feeling rough skin and in search of moisturizer. read more

Absolutely awful. I started going there two months ago and I started to notice the same 2 nails she kept filling was falling off in about 5 days. I then continued to go because you can't beat 35 bucks. BUT the last time I went I was treated poorly and my thumbs were not even and guess what.. those 2 nails fell off in 6 days. So I went somewhere else. My new nails lady took off another nail and said I had fungus growing under it because the lady at modern nails GLU back my actual thumb nail back to the gel nail instead of removing it and water got inside it. DO NOT GO. YUCK. read more

I was given a gift certificate here and stopped by on a busy Saturday. Everyone was very friendly and the salon was neat and clean. It seemed as though hygiene was a pretty high priority. I got a fantastic pedicure and I think the color would have stayed on forever (and it was not shellac). I will definitely stop by again. read more

Kind & attentive staff. Short wait time. Full menu of offerings. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedi & will return. SO much better than the hype over at Bella Vie in Williston!! read more

I went here today because I wanted a mani and a pedi and had received great service in the past. I went with gel for both. They had to remove a dip powder manicure from my nails and instead of soaking them, Jack took an acrylic nail and dug under the polish and pried it off each finger. The mani and pedi were fine, but when I went to pay I was charged. $105! I was shocked. They charged me $20 to remove my polish and never told me. I will never go back there again. Jack was also annoyed with me because I had to tip on my card. read more

This is undoubtedly the best pedicure I have received in the greater Burlington area. Incredibly clean facility and very kind staff. I always find it endearing when nail techs know the names of their customers- you can tell they have a solid customer following. Will certainly return again! read more

I had my nails filled a week ago by Jack whom was clearly frazzled that day. He kept looking outside every couple of minutes. Half way into my full, he suddenly got up and rushed outside and was yelling at someone in the parking lot (whom I found out from another employee was someone who parked there and left). When Jack came back in, he said nothing about the incident nor apologized for suddenly leaving. Three days 3 later my nails were chipping. By day 5 one nail was broken (this happened simply by zipping up my jacket. I work on a computer from home all day so I was not doing anything that would cause them to break). I called to schedule an appointment and Jack answered. He asked who did the nails and then had me come in. When I got there, he was working on someone else, so another employee started helping me. Jack confirmed with me that I wanted a fill, and I agreed knowing that he knew who I was. When I was done, the lady who did my nails checked me out and wanted to charge me $40. I asked about the charge as I was coming 1 week from my last fill with broken nails. Jack asked me what my problem was and I told him I didn't expect to be charged full price for this visit. He responded that since I changed the color of the polish, I would be charged full price and stated that when fixing a nail, it has to be the same color to get a discount... He did not mention this AT ALL on the phone nor in person when I walked in. I'm outraged by the way he treated me with no empathy, compassion or courtesy. I thought I found a nice place to be a regular but now I will not be coming back or recommending this establishment due to their poor business ethics. read more

Giving two stars because the staff is really, really nice. BUT, I would not recommend this place. Their pedicure was short lived and poorly preformed for the tune of $30.00... And their gel manicure peeled right off almost immediately-- it was wet and gooey as if it had never dried completely. Even though the staff is friendly and the salon appeared clean, it is definitely not worth the disappointment after paying for a service. read more

Im a hairstylist and this is the ONLY place i have ever gotten gel tips that have lasted the full two weeks without chipping or lifting between fills. They are incredibly clean, friendly and professional. i will never go anywhere else again. read more

Great customer service. I had my gel nails with extension done by Jack and they turned out great! Wouldn't go anywhere else in VT but here. They seem to be pretty busy. I would suggest making an appointment. read more

Waited 15 minutes after my appointment to get a chair. Rough pedicure. Seemed rushed.

This was a really great pedicure. Lasted forever. And I got an appointment at the last minute. I'll be going back.

Nice pedi although not super friendly but who cares? But I made an appointment for an acrylic fill, and AFTER pedi they tell me they don't do acrylic. Gee, thanks. read more

The staff is very nice but the prices are high and the quality of the work is not good. My cuticles were not done well, in fact they look worse now that the person 'plucked' them, rather than cut them out smoothly. One of my nails had broken and when I suggested we shorten all of the other nails to match the length, she said it would look fine. Honestly, I am quite disappointed and will not be going back or recommending this place. read more

This place is ok. Moderately clean, friendly faces but the pedicure revived was disappointing & had a lot of rough spots. Sloppy work.

Three stars only because I've gotten pedicures here before that were fine. Last week my daughter and I went for manicures. I got gel polish which started to peel off within three days. My daughter got acrylics, one of which fell off after 4 days. Almost $100 with tip and our manis didn't last a week. read more

The space is very clean and nice, however the service and level of professionalism is extremely disappointing. My friend and I both had a shellac manicure done, and were both done within 50minutes. There was no time taken to clean the cuticles, nor did we get a massage or lotion, not even a hot towel. I have had shellac done at other salons and it has lasted over three weeks. This manicure chipped within 5 days. To top it off my friend had gift certificates, and Jack didn't even offer to re issue the remaining $20 into a new certificate. In fact he expected an additional tip. Save your $ if you want a quality manicure and go somewhere else. This place is not worth your money. read more

Painfully short staffed. After my pedicure I sat in the chair for 20+ minutes where I was told he would do my manicure there. The girl who did my pedicure was very nice but didn't do the best job polish job. I just moved to Vermont and came here based on the yelp reviews and will not come back. Less than stellar service for what they charged. I was really bummed out read more

First time, I got a pedi and a fill. The pedi was super rushed and they really didn't take the time to make it relaxing. I paid more for this and got way less than what I have had in the past. No massage or really work to get calluses off my feet. I literally was in the chair for 20-30 minutes. Got a fill and it looked great, didn't cut me or anything. However 2 days later gel polish chipped and one of my nails chipped a whole corner off. Not for sure how I feel besides the pedi was way over priced for what you get. Place was clean and people were friendly. I was able to tip using my card. read more

I went there last weekend to get a mani/pedi. I usually don't splurge to get a french mani/pedi although I've had my fair share to know that it should already be chipping off one week later especially with shellac!!!! Shellac is supposed to last at least 3 weeks. I paid $60 plus tip and thought that was a bit overpriced but it was for a special occasion and I knew it would last a lot longer. The nail polish on my toes usually lasts a month or more even without shellac, it has been barely 8 days and it's already chipping off completely. Overall the experience was good, very clean and staff was very nice but the polish they use or the way they put it on isn't good... I am pretty bummed I spent that much money and it's already ruined I would not recommend modern nails to anyone. read more

This place is great! Definitely the best $25 pedicure I have had in the area!! Super clean and friendly.
