I have gone to Modern Milk for several different classes including their Happy Mom School and some workshops. For my first and now my second pregnancies I go to Jennie's prenatal yoga on Wednesday nights. When I went for the first time in 2022, I knew I would love it. I took her class every week for more than half of my pregnancy. And now I'm just a few weeks away from delivering my second and I am just so thankful for Jennie to be part of my journey. When I went to class with my second, I was met with a hug and the warmest welcome back! I just love her. And I LOVE this class. I live about 25 minute away and it's worth the drive. The energy, warmth, acceptance and solidarity is just to wonderful and I am grateful to have this though out pregnancy. Jennie make everyone feel so at home and comfortable. Her energy, caring, kindness and general vibe lets you know that you belong and you're not alone. I made a lactation appointment online and received a email shortly after. I called the day before my appointment because I didn't receive a confirmation or call for my upcoming appointment, the lady who answered was very rude and also was told the time was already booked for someone else. read more

Three weeks after the birth of my son I suffered from mastitis which reduced my milk supply to virtually nothing. I was devastated as breastfeeding was so important to me and the thought of giving up broke my heart. To make matters worse, I had seen a different lactation provider whose advice to rebuild my supply was an unrealistic pumping schedule and hard sell towards invasive tongue tie surgery for my 3 week old. My husband and I just didn't feel right about that. By giving us an actionable plan that fit our lifestyle, Stephanies guidance helped my son learn to breastfeed and in time, I was able to build back my supply. I am happy to say that my son is 100% breastfeeding which is something I didn't think was possible early on. Stephanie didn't push us towards surgery or give us an unrealistic plan but instead provided a tailored plan that fit our lifestyle. I've since followed up with her for assistance on the transition back to work, latching help, etc and each time find her advice to be incredibly helpful! Wow, wow, wow - I can't say enough amazing things about Modern Milk in Scottsdale! When you walk in, it is so welcoming with an adorable shop full of goodies for mommas and baby. They also offer yoga classes which is great! My girlfriend told me to take a breastfeeding class prior to baby coming because it isn't as easy as people make it out to be and that a class is very helpful! BOY WAS SHE RIGHT. I learned so much in this 2 hour class and feel so much more knowledgable going into it. It was worth every penny. Not to mention, they have a free "Happy Boob Group" that meets on Friday mornings if you encounter any trouble and/or need support once baby is here. They also offer at-home consultations if you need more support with nursing right after getting home from the hospital, i.e. baby isn't latching, etc. Having a direct contact/resource for breastfeeding has completely put my mind at ease. I also heard that there is a dream sleep class called "Will I Ever Sleep Again?" that we signed up for. All of my friends took it and have wonderful sleeping babies. Yes, please! I already feel a part of a little 'mom' community after coming here and can't wait to bring our baby boy back for the sleep class in January! The newborn class offered at MM is amazing! Took it a few months prior to my birth and found it so helpful! The instructor Princess is extremely knowledgeable and offered a wide variety of tips and tricks into motherhood. I felt like there was a perfect balance of western medicine tips along with a more holistic approach for each as well, which I really appreciated because it's so valuable to know all of your possible options in a situation and not just one sided options. Having both sides presented in class really allowed me to come up with techniques and routines that really aligned with my beliefs and also made me feel confident in my decisions knowing all of the possible options I had. Following the birth of my daughter I also received postpartum care and services from Princess that were literally life changing from her bellibind postpartum wrap for my womb healing to her lactation tips and tricks it really made my transition into motherhood so easy and enjoyable! I was also super excited to receive postpartum care from someone as talented as sought after as Princess as she has provided postpartum care to many celebrities including supporting Chrissy Tiegan after her most recent birth of her newest child. I've taken 2 classes here. I wish I knew this before signing up for those so this review is for moms interested in natural birth/home birth/out of hospital births/midwife care etc. This place caters to a more medical view of birth. The language used in courses has been exclusively for hospital care with a lack of knowledge about alternative options (clear lack of knowledge about what a Doula vs Midwife does etc) The language is not complementary to the Hypnobabies program as well. It's a good place for the right people, just not for me. read more

I recently had my first baby and Modern Milk has been such an amazing resource as a new mom! I started off with the Infant CPR class which was super informative and the instructor was hilarious. Even my husband had a good time (and I usually have to drag him to this type of thing!). Next I signed up for Happy Mom School as so many of my friends have gone through the series and highly recommend it. My group is already planning walks and brunches outside of the class, so definitely sign up if you're a FTM looking to make mom friends! :) And, I recently had a few breastfeeding concerns and my lactation consultant wasn't being very responsive. Desperate (and crying), I called Modern Milk and they opened up a spot for me to meet with an IBCLC same day. We even had a scheduling issue and the IBCLC met with me at 6pm (!) that evening. My husband and I relocated to Scottsdale from California when I was 24 weeks pregnant and my OB recommended checking out Modern Milk. I'm so glad he did! My husband and I took the newborn, birth, and infant CPR class before baby and now that our daughter is here we have had lactation consultation and signed up for a few new parent classes. Once I found out I was expecting I looked into this business. This was highly recommend by my Preschool mom's. They were right! Staff is friendly and very helpful. Erin and Lauren are fantastic when teaching the prenatal yoga classes. I took the free (May mom's month class) Mindfulness Class: very informative. I took the free (May mom's month class) Learn how to Talk/Brain Development 0-3: So informative and was taught by retired PHD professor, Billie Enz. I will be taking the Breastfeeding 101, Will I sleep again, and Calm during an Emergency CPR class soon. So far the classes here have been worth the time and money. :) For me the classes have been closer to my house and equal or a tad less expensive than the hospital classes. Breastfeeding 101: Wonderful class and informative and helpful. Will I Ever Sleep Again: So worth time and money!! Highly recommend this class in person before you have your baby, you will be more prepared and not so drained. Plus you have 4 month access to the online class to go back and review what was taught. Modern milk has every resource imaginable for expecting and new mommas. From fitness classes to holiday events to a store stocked with baby goodies/necessities and of course...mama's cold brew (can't do without this one). While I adore the decor and the promise of MM, my recent visits have not been as exciting and inviting as I'd hoped. Modern milk was portrayed as an actual community of mothers and I was so excited to be living just a few miles away. Last time I came in to look at feeding supplies for my daughter, I was followed around by a sales associate and looked at suspiciously. The previous time I was completely ignored. Everyone who attends classes seems to be a part of a clique that I am not invited into. I'm sad that I haven't been able to fit myself into this "tight-knit" group but will continue to try as I really like this place and all that it has to offer! read more

I love this place. I'm so thankful I found Modern Milk - it's an amazing resource and beautiful community. I have never seen an establishment like this, but I'm so glad it exists. Before baby, I took pre-baby education classes with my husband. Taught by a nurse with several kids herself, it was very helpful to know what to expect with the birth and beyond. It helped my husband and I get on the same page with what we wanted with our delivery. A couple days after coming home with baby, I booked an appointment with Stephanie for a lactation consultation. Despite my breastfeeding struggle, she was very encouraging and offered several helpful tips. She documented everything so I could go back and read her comments later, and provided an itemized receipt so I could submit to my insurance. I ended up renting a baby scale for a week to make sure I knew exactly how many ounces my baby was taking in. That peace of mind was priceless to me, fortunately, the scale rental was extremely affordable. I now attend several exercise classes a week here - yoga, barre, and bootcamp. I book the classes online. Instructors are awesome. They understand moms often work around nap times, so I don't feel any pressure if I have to cancel my spot without much warning. Some classes allow the kids in class, and there is childcare available for the others. The classes are fairly small, and the childcare area never has too many children. I know my child is being played with and taken care of. The building is super clean and smells amazing when you walk in. Also, whoever designed and branded this place did a great job. I see elements of the brand everywhere in the building and on the educational materials. Would love to see it grow to multiple Modern Milk locations around the country... read more

They have a wonderful yoga instructor named Erin - her flow classes and prenatal classes are the best. They have a great selection of very cute baby clothes. They also have some of the best nursing supplies - it's far less overwhelming to shop at this boutique store than Babies R Us, because they only carry the brands they think are best. I used their lactation services and also took Cara's sleep class here (highly recommend). It is a wonderfully helpful place for new moms. read more

This place is essential for all new mothers, especially those who are breastfeeding. After four rough (really rough) days of exclusively breastfeeding my newborn I saw Stephanie for a lactation consultation. She helped show me how to hold my baby to ensure we were feeding correctly. It's now been 2+ months of breastfeeding with my daughter and I have the team at Modern Milk to thank for making it easier. Their exercise classes are also amazing ways to get back in shape without leaving your baby with someone. I can get a great workout in with my baby on my mat. The other moms are really friendly. I've absolutely fallen in love with Modern Milk. Their prenatal yoga classes are absolutely fantastic; I'm addicted! I never liked yoga before I was pregnant, but the environment is so warm and supportive and the instructors give such a great (but appropriate) workout. I leave feeling so refreshed and more prepared for childbirth each time I leave. I also appreciate the friendliness of the staff and instructors and the cute boutique items they stock in the shop. I have to update my review because this place has become so much more to me than a yoga studio. This place is a sanctuary for all mothers. When my 5 week older daughter was having multiple problems with nursing and colic I came to see Stephanie (lactation consultant) who diagnosed her with a tongue tie. Stephanie provided multiple solutions and a pediatrician capable of providing the procedure to correct the tongue tie. Since having the procedure, our daughter is a completely different baby, so much happier and not in pain. I'm so thankful to have Modern Milk to bond with other Mothers and learn and grow with all our babies together. read more

Such a bad experience! The lady working the front desk was not welcoming. I arrived 5 minutes late because my infant was being fussie. Did not greet me and looked disapprovingly at her watch. Did not try to help me get acclimated with the class as I told her I was new and wasn't sure where to sit. Once in there the class was chaotic! I understand it's meant for small children, but the class was over populated and again not welcoming, would NOT recommend. When I left I spoke to the front desk lady and all she said was , "oh well." read more

I first heard about modern milk because someone gave me a gift card at my baby shower and so I was excited to check it out. The workers were rude and seemed very cliquish. It wasn't the welcoming environment I had heard about at the mothers market or what it portrayed on Instagram. Might just be re gifting my gift card. read more

I've only been to Modern Milk once at this point for a prenatal yoga class, but so far so good! Their store is pretty large, and they have two big classrooms for everything from lactation and birthing classes to classes on getting your baby to sleep through the night! I just came into my second trimester, so I'm still fairly early on, but my husband and I plan on taking advantage of several of these classes in the next few months. They have two single-stall bathrooms that are large enough to bring in a stroller and still use the restroom comfortably. Not to mention, both of them have really nice changing tables and diapers for you to use while you're there. It's just overall an incredibly mom/baby-friendly place. Their prenatal yoga class is awesome as well! It's a wonderful way to stretch out but not overly exert yourself, and the instructors are really sweet and relaxing. The other thing I love about these classes is the feeling of comfort you get by being surrounded by other pregnant moms. For the first several weeks of pregnancy, it's been a struggle for me to accept my changing body. I'm used to being in really good shape with good muscle definition, but pregnancy definitely changes things. It's harder to exercise, harder to eat healthy, just harder to get out of bed in general. But being in this class surrounded by women who are going through the exact same thing you are, and being in an environment where everyone is embracing their changing bodies and the miracle of building a baby was way more empowering than I thought it would be. I left my first class feeling really confident in myself AND my body for the first time since I found out I was pregnant, so for that reason alone I encourage any pregnant mama to try this class out. It's great for body AND mind, and it's a wonderful way to connect with your baby in a different way. read more

I came across Modern Milk on Instagram back in 2016 while pregnant for my son. Initially, I signed up for their Prenatal Yoga class before discovering the numerous educational classes they offered as well. In my third trimester, my husband and I enrolled in their Pregnancy, Birth and Baby class to prepare for our first child. We liked the fact that the class was lead by a Registered Nurse who thoroughly educated us on the tools we'd need to be successful in all phases of pregnancy, labor and becoming parents. Their mission is "to provide a community wellness center to educate, encourage, and empower today's modern mom" and Modern Milk does just that. This place has been a god send for me. I started doing The Bradley Method classes but I didn't find much community in a class of 3 pregnant couples (which is the main reason I wanted to join). Someone suggested modern milk and I gave it a try. I love coming here because anytime I feel like I need extra support or to surround myself with other mamas, I can jump into a Yoga class and feel a lot better. I really wanted to know more about infants, breastfeeding and sleep. Most of the education is provided by nurses with experience who are also moms. Being a student nurse practitioner myself, I'm very picky about evidence based practice and credibility with research. I feel that all of the information given here is helpful, up to date and relevant. I loved the "Will I ever sleep again class" Cara was great...and the Breastfeeding 101 was extremely helpful. I'm due in June so I hope it will make postpartum smoother for us! read more

I love everything about this place. The management is wonderful, and everyone who works there is so helpful. Modern Milk is tiny, but it packs a punch. In one trip, I rented a hospital breast pump, bought my son an amazing Ollie Swaddle (hard to find in stores), and took a class with Cara from Taking Cara Babies. The manager is so friendly and everyone there is incredibly helpful. As a new mother, I felt a little bit lost and vulnerable in my first months of maternity leave. The women at MM are just so kind and there were so many fun things to look at for myself and for my son. I wish I could have taken a yoga class, but I couldn't get my act together to do it. I started going to modern milk prenatal classes a few months ago and have been going every week since! They have an unlimited class membership option that I take advantage of. Looking forward to the expansion of their building because they're planning to have a daycare area for your kids while you do yoga! The prenatal classes are my pick me up during the week and I feel so proud of myself for sticking to it. It's been great exercise but also a beautiful bonding experience with my second baby. I truly enjoy every session but especially with teacher Erin Buggy. She is amazing and I always feel like my cup has been refilled after leaving her class. As for the retail store, look in the sales bin for nursing bras, I got some great ones 50% off and the staff was super helpful in helping me find the right sizes since I'm very busty and have trouble finding bras that fit during pregnancy. The classes are fun and a great way to meet other mamas. The barre class is a butt buster and you feel great after! The prenatal yoga is relaxing and a good stretch. There's even a babysitting are outside the classes so you can drop off your baby if you want. Babies are also welcome in class. But it's a nice option if you need some time to yourself. read more
