This is a bit of a long story, will attempt to make it as concise as possible…read more Started with mild discomfort. Saw my regular dentist. He saw issues with 2 teeth. One was a prior root canal & other showed a suspicious possible infection. He referred me to an endodontist. They confirmed issue with prior root canal & agreed issue with adjacent tooth & mentioned a cyst that had to be addresed. Said both teeth need to be extracted. The extraction of both teeth would be followed up with implants. They advised seeing implant specialist & have him extract both teeth & prepare for implant. Went to implant guy. He confirmed prior opinions. All this time I had no pain or discomfort. Per my dentist I'd been on Amoxicillin and it appeared to mitigate the infection & pain. He said both teeth need to come out, but he was unable to do extractions & suggested I see an oral surgeon. My wife had seen Dr. Sasportas' associate last year. Called his office. Had initial consultation with Dr. Sasportas. He was very patient very calm & confident demeanor. After looking at x-rays he was confident he could repair prior root canal with no extraction. Other tooth was inconclusive re: extraction but thought it would probably need to come out. He also explained the infection & cyst was a big problem due to proximity to my eye. If cyst burst I could lose vision in that eye. He was very patient & answered all of my questions. Scheduled surgical appointment for following week. At surgical appointment De. Sasportas reviewed everything with me. Again very patient calm demeanor. He also reassured me the procedure would be painless. All through the procedure he was speaking to me updating me on progress & reassuring me all was going according to plan & his expectations. When he was done he surprised me telling me he was able to remove infected area behind the tooth & no extractions were necessary. I had 1 dentist telling me looked like I may need 2 teeth extracted. I had 2 specialist confirming 2 teeth-needed to be extracted followed by 2 implants. And Dr. Sasportas says, No Extraction required. I left his office with all my teeth in place & 6 stitches in my gum. Following the surgery I experienced ZERO PAIN. Not even minor discomfort requiring no pain meds not even Tylenol. As he said, there'd be no pain he was right. Job well done- start to finish.

I really appreciate the great chair side manner of Dr. Sasportas…read more He and his staff are excellent No one is happy to remove a wisdom tooth, but I have complete confidence with this dental practice I hope, this is my last tooth removed Highly recommend !!!!

Stay away from this company. Look at all the 1-star reviews and avoid the troubles others had…read moreexperienced! If I can give a negative star, I would give a -5 star for this review! In my case, my son had a procedure done in mid 2020 and the company filed the claim directly with my insurance. I didn't receive an invoice for any balance. So I assumed the insurance covered in full and thus the $1500 I set aside in my FSA for that year went to waste. Fast forward 4 year later, in May of 2024, I received a debt collector notice that I owe nearly $1000 for the balance. The company failed to invoice me in 2020 so now they just use collector to harass me! The collector threaten to damage my credit score by reporting my debt if I don't pay. In the end, not only did I waste my FSA money in 2020, I have to pay almost $1000 to get rid of the collector and the harassment. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Central NJ is the scum of the earth and I sincerely hope they go out of business soon. I will report them to the BBB and I urge others to do the same because this type of business victimizes customers and shouldn't be allowed to exist.

Negative stars would be better. I hardly know where to begin on describing how horrible my…read moreexperience was, but if you're looking for misrepresentation of services and fees, unbelievably rude staff, billing issues, and a practice where consistent lies are the norm, this is the place for you. I have no idea how they could ever get five stars. Since he didn't do anything, I can't speak to Dr. Vecchione's competence, but believe the people who said in other reviews on several sites they are rude and billing issues are a nightmare! The receptionist who regularly announces she's "been with the doctor for 40 years" becomes instantly rude and disagreeable if you question ANYTHING. She is also the billing person. While, Dr. Vecchione. was unable to address my issue, as a result of one 15 minute visit I have been subjected to rudeness the likes of which I have never seen, lectured as if I were a child (with the "facts" said lecture was based on being a total misrepresentation of what happened and given by someone who wasn't even present) and threatened. I could go on for pages with specific examples of these claims, but suffice to say the fact that this person brags that they have been with the practice for 40 years says more than enough about what Dr. V. and his staff think about their patients and the care that they provide. By the way, he usually responds to negative reviews by saying the writer is lying and coming off like the aggrieved party. Interestingly, many of these people had the same experience I did so don't be surprised if he tells you I'm a liar too. I can only tell you based on my interactions with the practice, I'd find someone else. There are plenty of good oral surgeons out there who respect and genuinely care for their patients, sadly Dr. V. just isn't one of them.

The Surgery took place two days later after a medical clearance from his cardiologist. The recovery was minimal and the Office Manager Sherry called on a Saturday evening to make sure all was well with my husband. I did not complain at all because I understand things get busy. They do not let you do a cleaning on the same day as the check-up so I scheduled the cleaning for two weeks later. I was running late on that day and the office called, I profusely apologized and said I was on the way. They told me not to come in because there would not be time to finish my cleaning. I told them I don't mind waiting and I would be there in 10 minutes, but the receptionist did not want to accomodate anything and told me I would have to reschedule. It was frustrating that I waited two hours for my first appointment without any complaint, and they could not help me out when I would have been 15/20 minutes late.

While several staff members still provide a positive in office experience, they're also seem to be a change; this requires them to work within new office parameters As a longtime customer, I've found its time to look elsewhere for my dental health needs; I've already found a new practice by the way. I've been seriously hurt from a tooth extraction that became infected! Appointment mix ups were too common, with me having to make several adjustments just to complete my treatment. Communicating with the dentist wasn't as productive as I would have liked. He spoke at me and not to me, as if there was somewhere else, he needed to be and this was the case for each of our encounters! While I'm not a fan of the dentist, i understand how important one's dental health is and with that in mind, you should find a place that respect you, your time and especially your money. This isn't a spiteful review from a single visit. I'm a long-time customer who overlooked concerning issues because I just wanted to be done. I didn't want to have to start over again with a different provider but that's what currently happening.
