This Big 5 on Ming Avenue has some of the friendliest staff in town. Every time you walk in,…read moresomeone greets you and checks if you need help while you're looking through the displays, without bugging. Right now, a lot of the stuff is up to 70% off. The discounted shoe section is big right now after the holidays. It's a reliable spot when im looking for sports cards or hot wheels. The only real downside is the pricing. When you compare it to the Big 5 on the east side, this location is noticeably higher on many items, so you trade a bit of extra cost for equal service and similar convenience. Ultimately, a 4 experience for higher prices for the exact same product than the East side location.

It's so cool to watch a seasoned pro perform their craft. Kerry took one look at my seat and new it wasn't right for the job. Took some measurements, got my seat and bars adjusted, accessed a handful of additional quirks that needed some love, and got me out the door the same day. This all made a huge difference in the feel of my ride and the comfort of my body, and I'm stoked to have such a great resource right around the block from my home. Can't wait to put more hours in the saddle. Thanks again for sharing your time and talent Kerry & team! -AW

They'd fit strange, too tight around the ankle, too loose around the widest part of my foot. I'd fiddled and adjusted and just wasn't happy so I brought in a pair of boots that I'd bought months before and asked for a refund. There was no drama, no issue, no problem. 10 minutes later I had a new pair of shorts and $40 or $50 refunded to my credit card and I was back in the car. I love it when businesses treat their customers well.

Wondering what to get for the man in your life?…read more Does he enjoy barbecuing? Does he have a favorite sports team? Well, do I have a gift idea for YOU! The Sportula kiosk at the Valley Plaza Mall sells large metal spatulas for barbecuing that are emblazoned with various team logos. Best of all, the employee there claims you can get the logo (which is cut into the spatula) to leave that design on your grilled meat. Well, now, how could you possibly beat that? Mom purchased one for my brother with the logo of his favorite baseball team on it. This seasonal kiosk at the Valley Plaza Mall will only be here through January 1, so hurry on down if you're interested. (If you miss out, you can actually purchase these on Amazon.com, too, but come on down and check it out before they shut down for the season and save on shipping).
