We seriously made the right decision. These nail specialists are true expert! They know what they are doing. They are honest and not trying to push or sell us anything other than what we came in for. Most important is they take their time and don't rush through my nails even when there are people waiting. I enjoyed the time here and the services were great! Vu is an artist! This is absolutely the best nail salon I've ever been to in terms of customer service AND quality of job done. They always remember your name, never try to upsell you on callus removers (however the one time that I did get a callus remover my feet were butter smooth!), and the work they do lasts at least a week longer than other places like Happy Nails. I will never get my nails done anywhere else. They also do great waxing here. I've had my eyebrows waxed at other places and come away with scrapes and bumps but Model nails did an amazing job. Vu is by far the best I have ever been to! He has been doing my moms nails for years! When I decided to get acrylics I tried places by my house in orange but I was never happy. I was lucky if they lasted two weeks. My mom talked me in to try vu insisting that he is "the best" so I did. He was awesome ! Now I do silk wraps ( which look way more natural and are not as bad fro your nails as acrylics, and they last three weeks! For me that's we some because between work and school I have no time! Not to mention on occasion I buy the purses they sell there, really cute! Everyone is friendly and everyone greets me when I get there! Trust me I wish I didn't have to drive as far as I do but I haven't found anyone comparable. He is a busy guy so book him in advance . But it's so worth it ! :) read more

I went there today because I wanted to get my nails done and this place was getting great reviews. I'm sad to say I was not impressed. Vu was very kind and I did request him but I got a lady instead, not happy with that. Now she was in a hurry for what it seemed and the results were terrible my left pointer finger is crooked and there are bubbles in my nails. The white tips are messy and don't match up and the curvature of the nails are uneven. The total I payed was 35. Unbelievable, I do not think I will return. I will say that the regulars feel very at home and Vu is very kind. read more

I've been going to Paul since 1999. I've been getting the pink and white acrylics for years. One day he recommended the silk wrap because it lasts longer and it is not as thick as the acrylics. I told him I would try it. He was right!!! The silk wrap will last a long time. No lifting, not as thick and they look great. I recommend Paul. He is the best. read more

This is my nail shop. I have been a customer for at least three years. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Vu, the owner, is incredibly talented with nail design. The other nail technicians do a fine job too. The prices are reasonable and the few times I've come in to fix a nail, they wouldn't even let me tip. It doesn't have the factory like feeling, the get them in and out deal, like some of the larger nail shops do. I have a hard time sitting still and getting my nails done. Often, when I do both a manicure and a pedicure, they will give my two nail technicians. This means I don't have sit as long and can leave sooner. Being from a small town, I like the personal attention and knowing everyone in the shop. I would suggest making an appointment, because it is a more intimate place. read more

This is the place you have to no, need to go whenever you are looking for a nail place. I have been going to model nails for over 5 years and it does not get any better then this. I have been going to Natalie for over 7 years. (She is that good, i follow her) I freaking love her, every time she does my nails i get compliments even when i just do pink and white. Her art is out of this world. Honestly, it is my second home, they make it feel like their customers are family. One of the things i love about my second family :). Vu, Kim, Natalie, Tina and Paul they all do everything by hand all there art is phenomenal. They really are nail geniuses. I have recommended tons of friends and not a single one has been dissatisfied. Believe me i am picky, ask Natalie and Vu they'll tell you. lol I used to always have problems finding a good place. But once i found Natalie I was hooked. I was not a fan of Natalie's last work place years ago but i loved her so i didn't care, but let me tell you when she went to model nails i have been in heaven i love to go, i love going to anyone of them and that is rare for me. I will not go anywhere else. When i was pregnant i practically lived there, for 9 months every day..... The greatest thing too is during that time they would let me just hang, feed me and just make it relaxing for me. Every time i am having a rough day i go to model nails.. They always make me feel better.. ALWAYS!!! You will never find a nicer, loving, and caring place. During Christmas Vu does up the shop all beautiful and a Christmas tree. He always has yummy cookies or something for you to snack on and even puts the Christmas cards from his customers up and keeps them up. My son is 4, they are so awesome to him and he loves them at model nails. Every shop I have ever gone to are rude to my son yell at him and talk about us. Not model nails they are amazing. Vu is fantastic with my son and my son loves Vu. In my eyes there is not enough stars to rate them, they definitely should get more then Five stars. Love this place. There are quite a number of nail salons surrounding Bella terra and this one is by far my favorite. They can usually fit me in as a walk in with little wait. Vu, Kim, and everyone really, is nice, attentive, and funny. I have the most authentic interactions here. Vu is a talented artist who can do all sorts of nail art, simple or complex! I was in dire need of a mani/pedi STAT. I searched for a while and found Model Nails. They must be doing something right if they have 5 stars. I called ahead of time just so I wouldn't have to wait long and they told me to come right in!! It was easy to find but parking was a little sparse with the farmers market right next door. It was reasonable clean and looked pretty dead. They knew exactly who I was when I walked in and sat me at a station. The guy who put on my set, I didn't get his name, was really nice and worked fast and was very precise when it came to the length and even made sure it was short enough for my liking. When I was researching nail salons I found someone who was able to draw a Hello Kitty design on someone's nails. I asked the guy who was doing my nails and he told me to find a picture and they'd do it. Once my set was on he called Vu over and had him hand draw a little Hello Kitty on my 2 middle fingers!!! It wasn't the Mona Lisa or anything but just the fact that he'd tried said wonders!!!! After my mani they sat me in one of the massage chairs, I was slightly disappointed to find out they didn't have the spa pedicure with the attached tubs but they make it work. The girl did an amazing job on my feetsies!!!! When I went to pay Vu told me he wasn't going to charge for the Hello Kitty, most salons would have charged $5 each for the nail art!!!! Needless to say I now have a standing appointment every 2 weeks for a fill and a pedicure!!!! read more

My gels came off after only 5 days, they started peeling off leaving strips of unpolished nail, some just popped off completely. My nails looked horrible as if they had been through a war and had lost it. I had a presentation to give at work and they were closed on Sun and Mon so I had to take the gels off myself, that's not easy to do and took a couple of hours, not the way I wanted to spend my Sunday. I have had gels done for years and had never had this experience so I Googled why are my gels peeling off and discovered it's because instead of wrapping my nails in foil with remover as all the other places did, this one simply soaked my nails and then pried off the parts of the gel that didn't dissolve. There was major damage to my nails, white spots everywhere. I had to wait for my nails to grow out and replace the damaged nails. me and my girlfriend went to get our nails done here. we both got the silk... with gel, and was charged only 30$ for that set. Vu worked with me and we had a splendid conversation because i found out his family knew my family.very nice guy with a sense of humor. he definitely took care of me and the results were amazing. if you go here, ask for vu! he said my nails were suppose to last about 2 weeks but because i wash my hands a lot at my work they started to slowly chip off after 3 days of getting them. read more

Vu did my nails for the irst time last Wednesday, and he did not disappoint. I wanted silk nails and it is hard to find good ones as they take longer to do. There is no comparison between acrylics and silk in naturalness. I also like the fact he can do beautifl classic oval nails as well as the more squared off look currently fashionable. I haven't had a mani/pedi in about seven years because I became so tired of the atmosphere in most nail salons. The people treated me as though I were on a conveyor belt and the massages were just about non-existent so I figured why bother when I could take care of my nails myself and save the money. For some reason today I decided to go on YELP and find a local salon and found Modern Nails. What a great pleasure it was to have someone take the time to actually do a massage on BOTH my feet/legs and hands/arms. It was the luxury I once enjoyed back in the day when it wasn't so industrialized. Modern Nails is a small shop, clean and the people spoke English well. When I called ahead to see if they took walk-ins the gentleman that answered the phone said it was better to have an appointment. I made an appointment for a couple hours away thinking, "sure, they say you have an appointment but you could be sitting there for an hour or more while you wait for someone to come available. I was very happy to know that my appointment time was prompt. Kim (my manicurist) said they only take walk-ins if they think there is enough room on the books. I love Vu!! Model Nails is my new nail salon and Vu is my Guru!!! I decided to try this salon after I read a review on Yelp where a writer called Vu the "nail whisperer"! It is true! My nails have never looked so beautiful. I have switched over to silk rather than acrylic, and love it. My nails are thinner, stronger, better shaped, less jagged and I get more complements than ever. Before, the drilling around the edges and deep parts was painful, the light box was painful and my nail beds were sore for a few days after every fill. When I complained about the pain, the girl would use a nail tip to separate my nail from the acrylic, so she could do a "new set" (which she wanted to do every 6 wks). That was always painful too. Salon after salon, I was told this pain was normal and to be expected. Then I went to Model Nails. I haven't had any pain since! I'm a perfectionist, so I like the white part of the pink and white style to have perfect corners. Vu is the first one to accomplish this for me, without my asking. My nails really are perfect for this perfectionist, are not painful during or after getting them done. The prices are much better than the place I used to go to in the Cerritos Mall. There, I noticed the girls gossiped about the customers in Vietnamese. At Model Nails, this NEVER happens. Tina, Paul, KIm and Natalie are terrific at manis/pedis as well. I've seen painted bows, pink polka dots and many other cute things painted on fingers and toes. Every professional at Model Nails is very good at what they do. I can't recommend it highly enough, and it took me a really long time to find it. Go, you will be very happy you did. read more
