The service was amazing, the techs were very nice and friendly, however, they switched me from one tech to another at least twice, and when i got back home and washed my hands, half the polish came off. Not to mention that they didn't trim my cuticles so it already looks like i need a fill in, and the rhinestones are clumped with more glue than needed. I paid too much for these nails, and they looked great once I left, then began to deteriorate. Edit: I went back to get a refund, and the "friendly" people that did them were not so friendly when I requested a refund. Worst service I have ever had. I showed the tech what I wanted and he said he could do it. I explained several times I wanted dip powder, not gel, as I already had dip. He burned me with the dremmel while trying to remove what I had on and I had to insist they needed to be soaked first, then tried putting gel on anyway. I made him take it off and demanded dip. He had it put dip so bad I was almost in tears, another tech laughed and tried to help me by removing the thick, horrendous mess and doing it over Needles to say when I returned home from vacation I had my tech do my nails over. I went too Model Nails and Spa for the first time and right off the bat they were all very welcoming in helping me figure out what i wanted. It wasn't a long wait at all maybe 15 minutes at the latest and I was a walk in. Thomas did my nails and they look beautiful, they were at my very close to my cuticles but not to where they looked flooded they were in the perfect spot so they looked very natural! They look like my natural nail which I love. Thomas made sure I liked the look of them after every step, which is different from other places i've been too. I needed a fill in and decided to give model nails and spa a try. I was very happy with my service, the gentleman that did my nails wasn't super talkative but he did a great job and that's what matters. My only complaint is the cuticle trimmer he used wasn't sterilized but other than that, it was a great experience. I will definitely be coming back in the future. read more

First of all, this place is neat and clean and very large. They have several nail stations and nice looking pedicures chairs. unlucky for me I must've received a technician in training. I was watched other clients manicures, and they seem to be fine but I do not know, so I am giving a review for the technician that I had . for regular clients, please five the name of your technician because the salon is really only as good as its worst technician. First of all I wanted to have my acrylic nails soaked off. I didn't mind if it took two hours or three hours, I wanted them soaked off. I said that on the phone when I made the appointment and I said it again when I talked to the technician, she said, "soak it off" so she heard me. She said soaking dries out the cuticles and then proceeded to take one of the fake nail tips and pry the nails off of my fingers, taking a layer of my natural nail...for all fingers. It was very painful and I jumped at least half the time when she just kept on going, I thought she was going to pry off the loose nails and soak the others. By the time I realized she had no intention of listening to me, it was too late. I had a tight schedule. she did pull out some acetone for me to soak my fingers in for one minute and then pried the rest off ,with the fake nail tip. I should've left at that point, but I didn't because I needed to get my nails done and I wanted hard gel this is one of the fewest salons with hard gel. When I made my appointment, I requested structured gel nail extensions, where a good technician uses builder gel so that you don't have to put on tips, she said they offered that service but if they do, she did not know how. She proceeded to superglue tips on my nails. I've had tips before so at that point I stayed hoping it would get better, it got worse. After applying the hard gel, she had me me put one finger at a time under the UV light to cure. She said for "five seconds" after two seconds, my fingernails were burning, so I pulled them out, but one by one she put the gel on and said put that finger under the lamp. I was so upset I paid and left after she put the color on....and now I am left with 10 finger nails that are uneven and lumpy also she filed down my natural nails even though I asked her not to, I can't say anything about the other technicians, but the one I had, and I do not know her name messed my fingers up, so I will not be returning, unless I know the name of a person who is a good technician. read more

Ruckersville location: The owner was so rude to me I will never step foot in there again. He actually yelled at me for asking for a touch up on my pedicure. The nail technician checked on my nails 3 times saying "not yet" but the 4th time he checked and said "ok ready" so I put my shoes on, paid and left. I figured I'd check on them in my car before going home. Sure enough they were smeared. It could be because their heat lamp was only working on the left side, so I'm assuming it was the result of faulty equipment. But the owner seriously chastised me for not reading the sign saying it could take 30-60 min to dry and that I should have gotten gels instead. I don't like gels, it's a painful process because my nails are thin and frankly I don't want to pay extra. Please don't give your business to the little dictator. read more

The team accommodated a group of five for mani/pedi (including two acrylics!) and did an amazing job. The pedicures were great (some of us sprung for upgrades- it was enjoyable at all levels). We loved their massage chairs, too. AND my nails look amazing. They didn't just do something wrong. They did nothing right. I asked for rounded nails Mr. James did them square. He cut them WAY to short. And cut into my cuticles making a few of them bleed. When I told Mr. James I was in pain. He laughed at me like he could care less, and customers just need to shut up. They sat us to the side to dry and totally forgot us while taking care of walk-ins from start to finish. So, when I said nothing went right that's putting it mildly. Not only will I never go back, but I will do my best to let anyone I come across at the Hair Salon, my workplace and friends and family know so that businesses like this don't exist in our community. read more

Worst experience I have ever had getting my nails done. I was placed with one of the male nail techs, James. Through out the process, he cut my cuticles a total of 8 times. I received no compensation for the about of times that I was cut, or even consideration as he continued to file over the areas he had previously cut, leading to reopening of the wounds. I asked for dip and proceeded to come out with gel and dip because he decided to "fix" the awful job he did at shaping my nails with the gel. I have come to this nail shop for years and I can say that after this experience, I will not be back. I recommend if you go that you ask for another nail tech who may take into consideration your feelings, considering as the customer, you are paying a fortune to get your nails done how you want them done without the expense of your cuticles. read more

When I moved back to this area a little over a year ago, I decided to give this place a go since the place I normally went to went out of business. Now it's the only place I go to. I get a pedicure every 2-3 months and they always take their time, and are extremely friendly and nice. I never feel rushed and they always do a spectacular job on my toes. The massages they give are great. You are even given a little booklet and you can choose from a numerous amount of pedicures. They have all kinds, even if you just want something basic, it's there! But they also have more luxurious treatments like Hawaiian and Chocolate pedicures. Never once have they ever tried to up-sale me. The best part is there is usually some kind of sale going on. 10%-20% off pedicure, depending on what time of year it is. read more

We didn't make an appointment but they were able to take both of us immediately for mani/pedis (one was acrylics and gel). The salon is very clean, professional and gives you a spa like experience. The polish is all high quality, name brand (OPI, DND, SNS, etc), no mismatch or off brand). The technicians were very detailed (polish covering the WHOLE nail from side to side), thorough, and took their time. I highly recommend Model Nail Spa over the other local salons. read more

This was my first and most likely my last time coming to this salon. The manicure I received was not the best manicure I've had. They do not soak your hands, prior to trimming your cuticles. Who on earth trims cuticles on DRY nails? Needless to say, they did a very poor job of cuticle clean-up on my nails. The nail shaping was not done very well at all, in fact, barely shaped my nails at all! And the top coat they use is not high quality and caused my nail color to have bubbles throughout the finish. I brought my own nail color, which is a high quality brand that my regular nail tech in a different city uses, so I know that it is not my polish, but rather the technique of the nail tech and the inferior quality of the topcoat that she used. My daughter's eyebrow wax was also poorly done and the wax technician was actually laughing in our faces when we asked her to fix it and had the audacity to hand me the tweezers as if I were going to do her job for her! Needless to say, I will not be back for any more services as the quality simply was not there. On the positive side, Brian did my daughter's nails and they look amazing! The only reason why I'm giving the review two stars is because he did what needed to be serviced. John did her pedicure and gave a nice massage as well, I do highly recommend going to see both men for an excellent experience! read more

This place is filthy. It is never cleaned. Makes you wonder how clean the tools are.Every surface is covered in old nail dust and grime. Probably bc it's two men and no women at this place lol! While I was there, 3 women came in complaining that their powder dips had chipped after one day and they all wanted a fix job.
