I finished my errands early and that deserves a reward. I popped in to Model A, found a comfy seat and set up my laptop. Not too much later, Cameron stopped by with a menu and I worked out quickly that I wanted a light beer, wings in buffalo hot pleae and thank you. The cold beer arrived first and a few minutes later, the wings arrived. A pound of wings in the usual spicy sauce. Cooked properly, not totally swimming in sauce. Meanwhile, I was able to connect to work on their wigi, catch up on emails, take one quick Zoom call (no one noticed the beer fermenters behind me) and it was all great! Restaurant was not busy when the 6 of us showed up. The waiter was great but it took us 2 hours from start to finish. Food was cold, overcooked, salty and really not worth the wait. Came here on a Friday during Lent. The ONLY non-red meat item on the menu was shrimp tacos. They were terrible. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It came with flavorless beans, terrible CRUNCHY rice, and pico de gallo. Our waitress took good care of our large group. Model A has some of the best beers anywhere. I take this review seriously as I have been judging beer in competitions for about 20 years. They brew many classic styles and one offs as well. Their ESB (English Pale Ale) is absolutely fabulous! I am a big fan of that as I have spent some time in England. All of their beers are clean and without brewing flaws that sometimes appear at other breweries. Jerod is serious about making World Class beers and he does! The food is very good and reasonably priced too. Their hamburgers are some of the best around! I like their wings and tacos too. Tega Cay is very fortunate to have a fabulous brewery of their own! Met some friends to catch up and watch the panthers game on Sunday. This brewery is tucked away (much like the Wal-mart nearby), but solid brews and a pretty decent menu. Plenty of parking... shares the lot with a near by coffee place, virtual golf place, and a pet service store. Large bar that runs the length of the taproom, lots of tables for large groups or small, and an outdoor patio. I didn't see many people on the patio (I missed the chance to see if they had TV's out there) but most people stayed inside.... I think I saw a family with a dog out there. Overall the service was great - ordered chicken nachos and I had the wings which hit the spot. My friends had a wedge salad (I know, at a brewery?) and a kids order of tenders. And the mushroom burger (choice of side). If you get tots, get ready to have some fun.... because they are tetris shaped. read more

Went on a Tuesday with some family and we sat outside. There was very little people at all. I've been a few times and the food has been great but it always takes a while for the food to be brought out. Well we ordered and it took an hour to get any food brought to our table. Two people got theirs and it took about fifteen more minutes to get the rest of our food. Unfortunately I don't think that I will be returning because of how long it took to get our food and it's not the first time either. Atmosphere is great, but service is not it. read more

They all came in individual boats, and you'll never guess what happened next... they don't have any bags for our food! Womp Womp! We visited MAB this past weekend, I was very impressed. It was very clean, staff very attentive and informative, waitress ( I believe her name was Penny) was excellent. The "grub" was excellent as was the ale (especially the All Night Blonde). Everyone in my party enjoyed the apps. & their meals. I highly recommend the PABLT SANDWICH. The only disappointment was they were out of the pretzel buns, but the sandwich was still excellent. My son-in-law and daughter, who have visited just about every brewery in Charlotte region, said this one is at top of the list, while I have not been to as many this also tops my list...I'LL BE BACK. My wife and I stopped in with our niece and his new bride. We were only visiting for the night and asked them to pick a spot for us to go. They picked a winner! We truly enjoyed their uniquely crafted beers! For our mains, my wife ordered their Caesar salad with chicken and bacon. I ordered potstickers for the table and pork shoulder quesadilla for my main. My wife and I both truly enjoyed our meal and our server. It is in a quasi industrial type setting, but not too loud. Still...this place has some hits and misses for me. Everything about it is ok, but nothing over the top or stand out. I love a spot that has a kids menu - there's something for everyone on their menu. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla, and my kids loved it. Now, my husband got the buffalo chicken version, but I think he got cheese, or they ran out of chicken. It just lacked any kind of buffalo chicken flavor. (We were assured it was the buffalo one). I got the potstickers, and as you can see from the picture, they were cooked a little too long, and lacked flavor. The dipping sauce was good though. The beer was fine - we both got a hazy. Model A is the best brewery I have been to in the surrounding area. Their selection, taste, hospitality, and hours are what keep me coming back compared to other breweries and bars nearby. Their beer is always crisp and refreshing- I've never had a beer there that I didn't like but their "All Night Blonde" Ale and Czech Pilsner are what keep me coming back. Since it is brewed in house it is never flat. They also have a small variety of whiskey, wines, hard seltzers, and liquors if beer is not your thing. The food is a nice variety of bar food and they serve everything from salads to tacos to cheese curds. Everything has been delicious and goes down well with a beer. In addition to this, your order comes out QUICK. Service is attentive and quick, especially if you choose to sit at the bar. But even sitting outside in a busy weekend I've never had to wait for another pour or the check. They have indoor seating consisting of bar seating with TVs or table and chairs if you're with a larger group. They also have 2 separate outdoor areas with heaters and they will gladly turn them on for you if you ask. I appreciate their hours being open everyday at 11am and closing very late in the evening. Fort Mill can become very sleepy as far as "night life" goes, so having a relaxing place to go out for a drink on a late weekend night is a huge pro for me. Overall, this is my favorite bar/brewery in the area. The atmosphere, beer, and service will always keep me coming back for more. read more

We made this a stop on our way from Hartsville to Charlotte. It's a very nice place with plenty of parking. Our server was spot on, she had great knowledge about the beer and made solid recommendations. The food was good and came out in a timely manner. Jared makes great beer and always has a good selection on tap! He had everything from a cream ale to a NEIPA. Ignore the reviews complaining about "hoppy" beers or they didn't have a wheat on tap these are people who know nothing about craft beer and usually drink ultra or some other commercial crap beer. read more

Had the pleasure of visiting Model A Brewing 9n a cold rainy Wednesday in December. It is hard to get to, basically had to go around a round about to locate the parking lot which is in an elevated area. It shares space with other businesses, including a virtual golf business. It looks rather new and offers a good selection of spirits, including some nice options for scotch, bourbon, and whiskey. They have a nice selection of beers. I tried the Sappy Camper, a maple dark lager. It was good. Also tried their Saison and Hefeweizen. The later two were just okay. At 5%, they were watery and really just okay. They tasted quite similar, which told me all I needed to know. I was impressed by the overall atmosphere, so I will be returning. Seems like a cool place to meet for drinks, and they have TVs in case someone wants to watch a sporting event. read more

In all my visits, walked past this place a dozen times but hadn't ventured in. Model A has a lil satellite space over by my Dad's place, at the local pool. Wide variety of tap beers, from seltzer to sour, blondes to Rye IPA... kitchen menu looked good but we didn't eat. QR scan for full menu. Tasting flights were the call of duty- and priced amazingly low. Loved the presentation and cool wood holders with metal plates- magnet affixes your tasting flight info. Knowledgeable staff and my favorite were the tank tops that read "May contain alcohol". Tee's and tanks for sale btw. Patio seating, and I know they have live music on weekends. Nice visit! I like the space, large garage doors on each end, would have been nice to have warmer weather. The patio had a few peeps but none of the heaters we're running. Had the Pale Ale and West Coast IPA. Super clean beer, West Coast was delish, very bitter, the way I like it. My friend had the TexMex Bowl, tasty. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich. Really good. What a hidden gem this brewery was! Tucked away in a shopping plaza only a few miles away from me, I had no idea this was here. Credit to fellow yelpers for helping me find this place. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. They have a nice dog friendly patio (& plenty of heaters for cooler weather was a plus). I'm a sucker for a good sour and opted for the Tega twang (red current, vanilla sour) it was perfect for fall. Service here was amazing! I would come back for that alone. Their staff seems to really care about the guest experience. Food was meh. I only tried the Buffalo chicken tenders, feel like I would have been impressed with something else but their food menu seemed pretty basic. Chicken tenders doused in hot sauce was too much for me. Located near the Walmart shopping center, in the same parking lot as Toppers Pizza, Model A is the first brewery in Tega Cay. The space is fairly large with overhead doors that open to a large patio area. When you first walk in you can see the brewing area off to the right and a long bar to the left. The place is sparsely decorated and like most small breweries has a more industrial feel. The staff are all friendly and for the most part make sure you never have an empty glass. I have very little experience with the food, as the only thing I have had there was the pretzel (which was good). I have been several times and have tried most of their beer offering, which range from mediocre to very good. Among my favorites have been the ESB and the Helles Bock. Overall, I really like the place and will likely be back often. read more

So I was telling all my co-workers about this place because I had tried a wheat beer at Sweetwater pub and had to get here to have it super fresh.We finally get there and they have no wheat beer.so I order something else which was so so and ordered fried pickles and some nachos,loaded. the pickles were ok, but the nachos where like they were served at Girl Scout camp. It's a sit where you can style seating which leaves people sitting at a 4 top just drinking water. Leaving people coming in with groups or for food, with nowhere to sit. That's extremely frustrating. We were making trivia night a thing at Model A, we'd been 4 times and enjoyed it for what it is- bar food and fun, but wow. Last night the service was beyond slow, (understaffed? ok, we can be patient) the was barbecue sub par, flavorless and dry (how do you screw up pulled pork?) and part of our order was wrong. People make mistakes but there were too many last night piled on. The wings were good and the tots were crunchy. Over all--Not worth it. That's the last time we will go there. read more

Usually very good but showed up to eat dinner at bout 915 pm cause kitchen closes at 930 pm only to find out they closed it 15 minutes early which was disappointing as we just finished a tennis match and would have went somewhere else. When it is published the kitchen closes at a certain time then it should stay open til that time. This was my only beef so I hope it doesn't happen anymore. We just got minimal food but it was fine, other than the pretzel which was awesome. Service was a little hit and miss. We were sitting right near the end of the bar but our waiter disappeared unexpectedly and it took the bartender some time to realize and then bring the drinks had been warming themselves on a tray for 20 minutes. He left a little tipsy. We got Tacos to eat with beans and rice. They were ok. The beans and rice could use a little salt. I probably just could have asked for some. From a Covid perspective, I Loved they have the doors open on both sides which gave great ventilation! Even though they were packed I felt safe due to the amount of air flow. This is a brand new restaurant 7, count 'em, 7 minutes drive from my house in Tega Cay! We parked in the lot at 5:30 on a Friday and the restaurant was almost full. Couldn't tell where the hostess stand was. My husband flagged down a hostess and we were seated. Our waiter Zach was professional, personable and full of energy. We started out with a pretzel. It was crisp and delish but the mustard should have been whole grain and the cheese sauce was more like cheese soup. A fig jam on the side would have rounded it out. Our tacos arrived, shrimp for hubby and fish for me. Tasty but the slaw was sweet. We are from Southern CA and a more savory slaw would have been great. Went here with a birthday gift card from my daughter on Dec 30, 2024. Immediately, I was told that 3 of the beers listed were not availiable. No problem; I'll just select some other beers for a 4 beer flight. It took a MINIMUM of 15 minutes to draw four small draft beers. The restaurant was, at best, 1/3 full when we arrived. The bar tender favored anyone sitting at the bar or carryout orders versus filling my order. My French fries arrived cold after waiting a long time for our food to come out from the kitchen. None of this was the server's fault. She works for an establishment that doesn't care about its customers. This place was absolutely the worst place I could have selected to celebrate my birthday with my wife and two grandchildren. Model A does not deserve to have any customers if this is how they treat people. read more

Nachos had same sauce, not tasty. Nachos itself tasteless but looks pretty 3 colors. Tiny portion of salsa, seems like store bought salsa, not tasty. Good variety of beer. They do bingo nights.
