This location is about a block away from Yonge St and St. Clair Ave. The door is accessible and the St. Clair Station is close by. There are parking garages nearby but street parking directly in front of the store is difficult. The store reps were very helpful and greeted me right away. Since all the reps in the front were busy, one rep called someone from the back. She did 2 measurements of my feet than tried different versions of insoles in my size and different shoe sizes to help me make my choice. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this location.

They are refusing to exchange her faulty unworn shoes for new ones. She is 67 years old and deserves to be treated like a real customer. I find this offensive and hurtful. She is very upset with this treatment. She doesn't have a receipt but the fact is the shoes are faulty. Companies that want to retain customers should spend more time thinking about them than the bottom line. I went back to the store to see if repair was possible since the uppers were still in decent condition given hard, daily wear over the years. Sadly, the Company themselves do not repair the soles given their manufacturing techniques. Okay, fair enough, I thought. They did mention a local cobbler who might be able to bond a replacement lower but it wouldn't be under "warranty" any longer. So I'm tempted to give it a try after I buy a replacement boots first. Both have come into their own as "the hip apparel" for Toronto and this place is dedicated to them. The staff are tremendously helpful for the uninitiated and will take you through all the benefits of the boot; the comfort, the care, the durability, the guarantee. He's extremely enthusiastic about finding a good fit, and will try to make your visit enjoyable. First he will measure your calf and then search for the type of boots you're looking for. He will also examine your feet, and take in account the foot width, the type of pants you wear and even the type of socks - He's extremely knowledgeable with his 20+ years of experience and will educate you with every selection he brings out. Max was also kind enough to refer me to business owner that could tighten the opening of my boots since they were loose on top. The only down side is that the winter boots (what I went there fore) are slightly pricey, but from other reviews I read on google and through my visit, he will most likely give you 15-30$ of a discount (depending on purchase amount) just to ensure you have a great first visit. Although if you're like me and you've never have been able to found a store locally and even considered purchasing online with the risk of shipping hassles and fraud, then don't bother with those because Shoe Avenue is worth its convenience and money! Definitely give Shoe Avenue a try if you're looking for wide calf boots or wide shoes, I strongly recommend it because they made me fall in love with shoes all over again.

He made a very helpful assessment about my feet and recommended both the size and style that would work for me, also helping me learn more about preventing some potential challenges with my toe alignment. While I didn't end up leaving with a pair, mainly because I was indecisive about the style and color, I did leave with much more knowledge about Birkenstock and what to consider about footwear that would be best for me.
