I have been to MOD before but this was a fairly new location with outdoor seating (although the day we went wasn't nice enough to sit outside but the patio is very cute). As usual the food was great- I feel like a place that sells a "make your own pizza" can't really disappoint you because you are literally picking the ingredients that go on it so if you hate it, its your fault not theirs. I have never flat out made my own pizza- I always pick one then modify it or add ingredients to it as it goes along. The staff was friendly and the service was very quick. read more

This is a sad excuse for a restaurant. Me and my family came about an hour and a half before their scheduled closing time. Upon our arrival, the employees yelled to us that they were closed, for an undisclosed reason. They didn't even have the time of day to be respectful about it. They informed us by yelling and cursing at us to "get the f*** back in our cars and drive away." This place is hellspawn and no one should even bother to go here. Went for lunch today. Place was empty. Greeted immediately and staff explained the concept//ways to order. It's a build your own pizza place similar to the Blaze concept. 11$ for a decent size pizza. My bf and I shared a pizza and an entree salad. The options for toppings and salad fixing were extensive (albeit not the most super fresh produce- but nothing wrong with it by any means). The salad was AH-mazing. Get the honey like dressing- SO good. Good drink selection as well. 4 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service. Definitely recommend! read more

Not the greatest of pizzas, but for $8 to get a personalized pizza is a great concept. This location is no diferent from the rest and actually I think Blaze has better sauce; but this is the only one in our area. Wish parking was better, as last time it was pouring rain and we could only find a spot around the other side of the plaza. I like my crust crispy, so I ask for well done; which sometimes works and other times comes out no different from others. I wish they had a set process for well done pies. My suggestion is to also limit the toppings, as while free, they weight down the pizza and tend to make it soggy. read more

I have never been to a mod pizza and for our first time it was a great experience. Staff was nice enough to explain how everything works and we began our selections. I love how they make the pizza in front of you and you can literally put anything you want on your pizza. The pizza is cooked to perfection and taste so Much better if you eat it there fresh after it comes out of the brick fire oven. Lemonade tastes great we like mixing both flavors. So much variety--option to make your pizza into a flatbread salad, I have been here twice and can't wait till it hits the lunch choice of the group again. Basically build your own pizza with some pre-selected options which are awesome! You basically pay for big or small---toppings included. With a drink you can walk out of there only about 7 bucks lighter. Everyone knows pizza is all about freshness and quality of ingredients. This place has it. From the un-Godly pineapple (yes I'm from the school of -pineapple-does-not-belong-on-pizza) to sriracha to toppings you never thought of but work so well. I had one which was finished with buffalo sauce on top. The seasonal choices are very nice combinations as well. All pizzas are entered into an old fashioned brick oven...fire and all and come out fiery hot and deliciously singed around the crisp edges. If you are lucky, your pizza will bubble up-yum! And make a post it note and stick it on your head....write this on it: BLACKBERRY LEMONADE. Not sure if you could make a wrong choice in this place. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at noon obviously--I did see some outdoor seating--Nice central location--interactive and nice staff. Think of Mod as the Five Guys of the pizza world, though with more selections including salad. The pizza is good...just not very remarkable. My companion had a white sauce Mod-size grilled chicken and veggies pizza while I opted for olive oil as a base under Canadian Bacon, bacon and red onion. The toppings on mine were sufficient to provide the taste but not generous. I also asked for a drizzling of BBQ sauce and that turned out to be a wise idea; the crust has the same consistency and taste as water crackers so the olive oil alone would have been pretty bland. What we really liked was the deli-style, create-it-yourself option and the speedy service. Ordering to eating time was ten minutes. Not much to say about the venue; it's bland and industrial with high ceilings and big windows but on this 30-degree night the temperature was comfortable. Moderate crowd on a Wednesday didn't seem to overwhelm the friendly and unhurried three-person staff. Overall a tasty but very ordinary, pizza experience. read more

The pizza is good, but this is the second time I've used online ordering and it is pointless. I order for lunch on my break at work- and I don't have endless time. So I order while I'm at work. The first time I did this, I arrived to pick up my food and they hadn't even started it. This second time, I get here and as I walk In the door they are making it. I waited 5 minutes past the time my email said my order would be ready too. Went to MOD pizza for lunch yesterday because they are supposed to open at 10:30, and we have an early lunch break. We decided to drive from Libertyville and got there at 10:35 pressed for time. We were told they weren't ready to open yet because the "cheese isn't ready" and they shut the door, not asking us if we wanted to come in (we couldn't anyway b/c of our time crunch). Anyway, if you say that you open at 10:30, be ready to open at 10:30. If you're not ready, say so (though frustrating), but at least invite us in. read more

Went last week on a weeknight, about 6:30 pm. The staff were very friendly, explained the concept well (two size crusts 7", 11") and unlimited toppings for a single price per size. Decor blended in local landmarks, which was nice. This is like chipotle for pizza in that you move down a line and either request whatever you want or watch them make a favorite recipe, of which I believe there were 11. Nice variety of white and red pizzas, and seasonal Ingredients as well. Once pizzas come out of the oven they can be topped with a handful of different sauces. My only complaint, for which I took away a star, was this is not a quick process. Between customers learning the process, and each customer taking time to pick what they want on their pie from so many ingredients, and then waiting for it to be baked, it can take longer than you might otherwise expect. We were in no hurry, but don't think I could make this work on a lunch hour visit. The concept and food are good. I'll be back, when I'm not in a hurry! read more

Tried for the 1st time today, ordered online and picked up. This is an excellent quick pizza option! For $16.88 out the door, my husband and I were able to build our own individual 11" pizzas. They have so many options from sauce to toppings all for one price. You go to a pizzeria and you're charged additional for every ingredient. Pizzas are ok. Like the garlic bread a lot. Reason for 2 stars is hygiene. Young server (not ours) was sneezing and blowing her nose. Right after throwing tissue out she proceeded to taking on plastic gloves and serving the guests after us. Really gross. They accidentally burned my pizza as they were busy, yet they owned up to it by letting me know as well as were apologetic. They were already cooking me a new one while they were apologizing.
